@icedown Yupp, i know you want us to properly land at KSC, i`ve grounded actually at the westcoast of the KSC continent, where the nice little lakes are. No matter if you consider me disqualified, i am refurbishing my "Double Jumbo" and gonna do another valid entry soon! I think i can make a four digit score...
-
Hey @icedown I have updated my post in your cool challenge, made a little math for you .

Aha! I guess i have to hang myself again under the last waggon... pssshhh Don`t tell Gregrox!

Made one: "Double Jumbo" Dropbox:https://www.dropbox.com/s/66stc6wufnk1cm3/SSTO Double Jumbo.craft?dl=0 Result: LF (full): 13395 (-left): - 0 = 13395 OX (full): 10265 (-left): - 546 = 9719 Score: LF 13395 x 0.8 = 10716 OX 9719 x 0.18 = 1749.42 Sum: 12465.42 Well, by far not so good like @Nefrums excellently kerbaled super SSTO but hey, it flies like a charm. The Mk2 enginefuselages provide some cheaty extralift and the tailfin is very tiny but so far behind that it gives surprisingly good and lots of pitchauthority. Lands like a feather, okay, i didn`t hit the KSC... It flies with 12 Rapiers and two ... errm ... the other jetengine... can`t remember the name . It has one radiator on top and two solarpanels lateral. And Vernors all around. All Stock, looks like Skylon, weird...

Looking for a new computer for university. Can anyone help?
Mikki replied to Dman979's topic in The Lounge
This is the reason many aged people like me consider the "Patriot Act" as a first class false flag maneuver. Its all about ecomomy and money, and bottomless greed. -

Since i live and work in europe we have access to independent internet servers like "Startpage", datatransfer is not enrouted via GB/ US territory, (Tempora, Prism,...), i know about some hardcoded backdoors in intelchips but i am a normal civilian and i like to have my workspace save from piracy, spying from other companys or obscure governments activitys. Industrial espionage is a serious threat. -

Pc/ Windows. Software is mostly developed with microsoft derivates, no way around it for rl work. Windows 10 pro is excellent btw, add a serious antivirus software like Kaspersky internet security. Kaspersky gives you the options to make a watertight system, even NSA proof if you like. -
What new parts should they add?
Mikki replied to Jeb-head-mug kerman's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
And spherical tankbutts, 2.5 and 3.75 meters... A spherical LF only tank, 2.5 and 3.75 diameter... mmmmmmhhh ... a ... 2.5 meter... solid... booster...? -
Must payload be attached inside a cargobay?

... After many years in serious business and many talks with lots of engineers from different branches i start to doubt Newtons/ Einsteins concept of the field-theory. Some explain it like this (calm down before reading): "Gravitational pull from objects in space could be described as omnidirectional monopole magnetism on quantum scale." Just one example: Dust and molecules in interstellar/ intergalactic space tend to condense pretty fast... How come so...? All the new debate and guesswork about "undiscovered and unmeasurable dark energy and dark mass" would be obsolete and other ideas for space travel could become interesting to examine. I better stop here, alternative ideas are prone to become [REDACTED]. My advise for all the young students in this forum: Never stop to doubt what your teachers tell, there are other ideas out there which may lead to other ways.

[1.0.5] Atomic Age - Nuclear Propulsion - Red Hot Radiators
Mikki replied to Porkjet's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Same here, everyday i look into this thread and... me wonders if mister porkjet is aware that many people love the lightbulb for its infamous isp... ahem... and its gigantic weight... huh... Could it become... stock... somehow? It is simply "THE ENGINE" of choice for massive endgame fun... -

Looks like the borders of our world end at the US coast... Who needs them anyway. I have allways been a fan of canadian hockey (silently, oilers, Gretzky and his friends, good times), the one and only sport for "real" man. Czech boys had back luck today, next time...

Sci-Fi: Which authors, series and books have you read & would recommend?
Mikki replied to Blunderbuss's topic in The Lounge
Its a Art Comic series... however: John Difool from Moebius/ Janjetov/ Jodorovsky (France, Serbia, Chile ) Its really worth the visuals and kind of a total mindblow -
If you live in Europe... browse with IxQuick. Guaranteed NSA-free, unfiltered. If you live in the... okay, then you are pretty much... observed.

... Another... Hollywood .... product? Looks more like a psychologial study. Having a name badge on a one-man mission is weird. There is no reason having a name badge. I guess the author of this script never made a ... ahem ... serious ... job in his life. Edit: However, i have never been to space myself, and i don`t know what it looks like but... The background images of some real far away gasclouds don`t look right. Or maybe its possible with the impression from a telescope zoom... must be a kind of artistic freedom, it looks weird. The plot could be interesting, i guess the guy finds what he was looking for, or he doesn`t and finds something else.

parts [1.12.x] 'Project Orion' Nuclear Pulse Engine
Mikki replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
@ThatOneBritishGuy... As far as i know yes, in stock career R&D are additional nuclearscience fields to explore, but... these drives are very very very expensive, the fuel is very vey very expensive. You need lots (several millions) of funds to obtain a single drive, if you can afford it allready i would buy the medusa drive.... with some smaller pulseunits... -
@Bonus Eventus I`ve installed your awesome partmod and it is very well done! Do you consider adding a halfsize S6 tank? Because the S6 is enormous and it would fit very well, and... launching your parts allways kills the launchpad, allways lotsa flames and debris.. Is this intended? I made a pic: Repairing the launchpad occasionly is indeed a viable method to get rid of those nasty funds in endgame... omg . Your structural parts look excellent, my Kerbals like them alot!

Hi all, some of you nice people may remember my only SSTO which i gave a name: "The Terrible Lady in White" or in short, OMGWTFitsagiantbananashapedMONSTERPLANE! Its true,... "She"... (ahem) ... flyes still in 1.1. I just slapped more pitchauthority at her tail. Only Mod, KJR, still wobbles... What`s the deal? Well, 179 tonnes payload to 100x100km Kerbinorbit. Where is the Payload? The large Kerbodyne assembly beneath the fuselage. How is "She" going up? By brute force, 1000m/s at 5000m altitude and literally burning on the way up. It really hurts. "She" has lotsa boost from... 36 engines. Yeah. There are no Kerbals in it. Better so.
