  1. If you download cryogenic engines, you'll be able switch between LF, LH, LF/O, LH/O and O for tank contents. https://spacedock.info/mod/709/Cryogenic Engines
  2. I second @Veeltch's idea and love the idea of a camera in the stock game. perhaps implement two cameras, on which must return to Kerbin, or at least have its film removed on EVA by a scientist using the 'take data' function and a second, digital one.
  3. Hey, I just downloaded 0.11, and it appears that the Metis has been nerfed. Was this deliberate? Cause now things have gotten trickier. The description says that it's built of two uprated alphastar engines, and each alphastar develops 18kN of thrust and two normal ones would develop 36kN. Shouldn't uprated ones create more thrust?
  4. I thought that it could be a Hitchhiker's Guide spaceship on Rupert - type situation, where the memories and consciences of the crew are stored on data drives and the crew are kept in hibernation while the ship is run by an AI built of hundreds or thousands of sub-programs. Just a thought.
  5. Nice use of the fairing as a heat-shield. And, holy moly, that's fairly large.
  6. @CobaltWolf, I'd like to put in a request for a part. It may seem a bit unusual, but I'd like to see a crewed compartment in the same form factor as the S IV adaptor tank. You see, I've made a Kerbin-Mun shuttle out of the S IV with a mk 1-2 strapped to the top, and the delta V has become seriously overkilled (is that even a word? Is now.) and I thought that replacing the adaptor tank with a (perhaps five-seat) crewed compartment (and maybe a heat shield to go with it) would be far more economical for tourist contracts. What do you think?
  7. @CobaltWolf, I found this in a book I have called 'Moon Flight Atlas' by Patrick Moore (ISBN: 9780540051625). I was just wondering if it might be included in the landing leg. http://m.imgur.com/a/iDx5D
  8. Hello! Sorry to bother you, but I'm inquiring about the Kopernicus mod you made a little while ago, All These Worlds. Do you have any plans to update it or continue work on it, as I sent an atmospheric probe there Galileo-style yesterday and it immediately slowed down to less than 10 m/s on contact with the atmosphere. Oh, and solar panels generate next to no power inside the atmosphere.

    Thanks,

    NotAgain.

  9. @AHO, the Hermes originally had an IVA when it was in the Bloeting mod, perhaps that could be a good starting point if someone still has the files.
  10. I'd love to submit a screenshot: Sorry about the Imgur album, it was the only way I could get the image to insert.
  11. Hi!

It's me, NotAgain, again. I'm the one who built the little shuttle for the STS challenge, and I was wondering if it would be possible to add another category or even a whole other challenge for small shuttles, as I'd love to try some other missions, but other than STS - 4/4R there isn't much the Half Mun can do. I'd suggest adding a dry mass limit for the orbiter alone of 25 tons, though I'll leave that up to your better judgement.

    Thanks,

    NotAgain.

First of all, I have to clarify that the challenge levels are on participant, not shuttle basis, that is you may use multiple different vehicles and swap them between missions.

Second, while Half Mun really has very limited payload storage capabilities, most of the challenges (with exception of STS-3 due to a very specific payload) don't explicitly require mk3 payload bay and can be completed with 1.25m diameter payloads (if a payload is required at all).

By the way, STS-2 doesn't strictly require particular payload subassembly, allowing for custom payloads, therefore it could allow very small satellites deployed by a very small shuttle. So, if you manage to deploy 2 satellites that will then reach KSO (and with some form of gyrostabilization, if you go for commander level) from your ship, it would qualify.

As for mini-version of challenges, that is actually an interesting idea. The payload deployment missions may get different payload specifications for different classes of the shuttles. I'll discuss such an option with Speeding Mullet, when he's back.

  12. Hi guys, I'd like to enter my Half Mun class shuttle, the KSS Lionheart for STS - 1A. The shuttle itself is a little unusual, being of the inline type, but it fulfils all the requirements for a shuttle and STS - 1A stated in the OP. The HM comes under the 'Modded' category and utilises the following mods: Bluedog Design Bureau for the Launch vehicle, orbiter batteries and main antenna. Ven's Stock Revamp for retextured stock parts (tanks, solars, radiators, docking port). Lack's SXT for the LV's fins and the orbiter's airbrakes and cockpit. USI sounding rockets for the little radially- mounted probe core RemoteTech for the low-gain antenna. Coatl aerospace Probes+ for the majority of the payload (Georgia VII). DMagic science for the GOREsat instrument for Georgia VII. Tantares for the RCS system and LV's attitude control thrusters. Surface Experiment Package for the KIS external storage locker of the orbiter. Surface Lights for the external lighting. SSR Microsatellite for the SAS chip. The way payload deployment is arranged is unusual, simply because I'm playing in career mode and haven't unlocked any (modded) 1.25m cargo bays, so everything gets shipped up in the storage locker and assembled on EVA with KIS/KAS. Thank you for your consideration, NotAgain.
  13. I believe that scramming a reactor is an emergency shutdown procedure (I may be wrong).
  14. Cool! I just hope that 2.2km/s is sufficient for Dunan orbit. Could get a wee bit interesting.
  15. If you do, I may suggest using different (more powerful) engines? What kind of thrust does the LV-NB make?
  16. But it has a roughly 600,000km SOI. How are the Kron ships powered? Apart from the solar arrays on the earlier missions, I'm not seeing any power-generation apparatus.
  17. I'm using them too, and it seems to work perfectly. To change the mod to support OPM, go to GameData/XPC/EelooAlt/PlanetConfigs/ and delete Alu. Then go into the config files of Beros and Kyx and change referenceBody (under orbit) to Plock. This edit is supported by the maker, who gave me the original instructions. If you don't want an atmosphere to be added to Eeloo, delete the Eeloo config too.
