adding multiplayer
sal_vager replied to wolf creates16's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Hi @wolf creates16, multiplayer is actually already planned but it's slow going, the next release is just the upgrade to Unity5, after that we'll see what Squad concentrate on next- 367 replies

I made a plane.

Hi @Matagorda Space Program, you need to fix your pics, use the "insert other media" button and the full url to the image, it will have a .jpg, .png or similar extension.

Sometimes, when even after several attempts I can't find a flat area and can't avoid falling over, I'll make use of the "hack gravity" button in the debug window. It saves a lot of frustration.

Problem in RVE

Hi @MightyPeppers, I have moved your post to modded support, hopefully someone can help you -
Missing Mk1 Cockpit IVA
sal_vager replied to BarryDennen12's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Those are the right files, I assume you have module manager, as many mods rely on it, if you have it have you tried removing it? What mods are you using anyway? -
Missing Mk1 Cockpit IVA
sal_vager replied to BarryDennen12's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
@Kowalskicore, can you open the KSP folder and check that GameData/Squad/Spaces/mk1CockpitInternal/ is there? It should contain six files. -
R&D Problem
sal_vager replied to nickrulercreator's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Hi @nickrulercreator, what exactly do you mean by this? The last update was to build 1028, you can check this in the buildID.txt. What mod did you use? It's likely to be the cause. As you are on Steam try verifying your game cache, here is how to find it. Also, moving to modded installs. -
Heavy Memory Leaks
sal_vager replied to Cocox's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Hi Cocox, using more memory isn't a leak, a memory leak is a situation where memory is allocated but never reused. KSP 1.1 is planned to have a 64bit version for Windows and OSX, Linux already has this, and it will allow you to load more addons, but to help with your current situation it'd help if you posted your modlist. -
In orbit but "moving over the surface"?
sal_vager replied to davidpsummers's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Are there any fairing bits jammed on your craft? (a pic might have shown it), there was a bug (it should be fixed in build 1028) that caused your craft to think they were landed if a fairing bit was stuck to them. I did see another issue recently that looks like this, but if you can't save you can't exit to the tracking center. -
No idea, we have to wait and see. It's a kinda impossible to answer this question to be honest. Moving to dev discussion!

@WellItExplodedAgain, for galleries use the imgur button and the gallery code, but for single images use "insert other media", like this.

What about new people who aren't well versed in all things Kerbal? Anyone joining has to pass a reCaptcha2 test, obviously spammers can fool it but they can't fool us, report these spammers and we'll blast them.

In orbit but "moving over the surface"?
sal_vager replied to davidpsummers's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Any chance of pics? Post them to imgur and link them here. -
Spambot, unfortunately if they have never been previously flagged as such they aren't stopped by the filter, they need to be flagged at least once either here or on some other IPS forum or on stopforumspam. They seem to all use ipv4, so if they reuse an ip they are banned, ipv6 is going to be "fun".

I wish I could help you but honestly I don't know, Unity5 should be able to take better advantage of multiple cpu cores for physics (and only for physics, though it already uses other cores to offload IO, audio, etc). My rule of thumb when buying PC hardware is this, bigger numbers are better, unless it's price, then try to get a bargain/discount

Hi @Avera9eJoe, I'll let the Unity manual explain this, as this is a Unity engine setting (exposed by Squad). Afaik Squad went with the defaults for each level of the quality settings, the settings have the biggest visual effect on the shadows as Vexx mentioned, and don't look to change much other than that, at least I can't see the difference.

Changing forum background colour (med reasons)
sal_vager replied to Majorjim!'s topic in Kerbal Network
I have these as well, though they have reduced with age, I was told they would get worse but it's rare I see them now. There's no alternative themes yet unfortunately, but @5thHorseman made me aware of a Chrome and Firefox plugin called Stylish which can change the forum colours until then. Hope this helps! -
All I can suggest is that you make sure you have the latest version and reinstall it.
