  1. Welcome to the forums! You don't see a lot of people building 8 part space stations in there first week.
  2. Are you taking submissions? Because I've got a small, fast interceptor with great handling, and you don't appear to have a plane of that role. Right now it's loaded with stock bombs and missiles, but you could easily swap them for BDA weapons. The planes look great though!
  3. Sorry about the length, but it was either 100m and twice the part count, or 50m with reasonable part count and decent looks. 50 is doable, but challenging. A drogue chute is fine, I used one myself for my HTOL, the AS-1 Wasp (which I might enter for the fun of it) But I think I might put a rule against full blown parachutes.
  4. Tada! Takes 14 attempts to land, and take some off with the engine millimetres for the water, but works, and fits 3 AS-1 Wasp fighters! Also carries 4 anti air missiles.

  6. They were put there for attacking planes to the main ship after landing, but now you mention it, that's a great idea. Sorry about that, the entire bridge and anti air missiles are purely for aesthetics, you can remove them and remove a hundred parts or so. Great plane! The swing wing is very cool.

I have taken advantage of the money readout, and introduced a new specification, Cost, which should at another challenge to building a winning plane. Class: Single Engine Carrier Fighter (Jet) You are to build a fighter designed for carrier operations, able to take off and land in 50m or less. For space and budget reasons, it can only have a single engine, and a max wingspan of 10 metres. It must have at least two missile hardpoints, and at least one bomb hardpoint. Weight: maximum 20 tons Speed: at least 150m/s Payload: at least 2 guided missiles and one ore tank bomb Range: at least 150km Crew: at least 1 pilot Cost: maximum 150,000 funds Class: Single Engine Carrier Fighter (Propeller) you are to build a budget single engine carrier fighter capable of taking off and landing in 50m. It must be light, but carry at least one missile. Weight: maximum 15 tons Speed: at least 60m/s Payload: at least 1 guided missile Range: at least 75km Crew: at least 1 pilot Cost: maximum 100,000 Notes: the carrier is 50m long and 10m wide, so build your plane around those specifications.   8. The Battle of Ike Oddly, one of my EX-9s has disappeared. I didn't cloak it, so I have no idea what happened to it. I went ahead with my turn anyway, as I had a plan. Taking Nafred Kerman's EX-9, I rendevoused with the Daylight, as I realised that by destroying it I would win, as then your fleet would only have 1 missile to destroy my 3 remaining alive ships, and no Klaw or missile with a docking port to salvage. (The Intact Eos, the heavily damaged Eos, and Labal Kerman's pod. It still has a RTG and a weapon pod, so its alive.) Making 2 burns, I zeroed my relative velocity and launched a G3 Torpedo. It hit near the back at a weird angle, and knocked off a wingplate, but left the Daylight otherwise intact. I then lauched another one, which hit down the front, destroying all its weapons. With one missile left in your fleet, and no way of salvaging knocked off missiles, It is impossible for you to destroy moer than one of my 3 remaining surviving ships, meaning a victory fro the F-Tech Fleet. if you really stretch the definition of damaged, and count the disappearing EX-9 as alive, that technically means no Eoses were lost in the battle. @Spartwo can you uptdate the leaderboard please?
  9. Thanks, the 1.25m end cap actually has a stock hinge covered by a fairing in in it, allowing for rotating rings, but I haven't figured out how to integrate them yet. On a completely unrelated note, has anyone else realised how useful the new extending Vostok 0.67m airlock will be for stock hinges? We have a small docking port that extends and retracts more than 1.8m, and stays as one craft, effectively removing all the tweaking and over building that you need to make a time warp proof stock hinge now. I predict this will bring about a golden age of stock hinge accessibility.
  10. Nope, the challenge is either have a slow single engine VTOL, or build a plane capable of HTOL in fifty metres. I would wait till tomorrow, I'll have a much more detailed list of dos and donts then.

  13. Can it get to the inland KSC, but not finish the return journey? Because if so, there is a refuelling tanker next to the damaged rover for that purpose.
  14. You won't have to build your own carrier, I'm in the middle of one right now that I will include to be used to test with. And VTOLs are fine, but I think the fighter will probably have to be single engine, so that will be a challenge. I have replaced those missiles with my new APOG-1 Pidgeon fire-and-forget missiles, but you could use the original ones if you want. Wait till tomorrow, I'll have the actual post up with downloads for most things you would need to test a carrier fighter.
  15. Yeah, mod weapons aren't necessarily disallowed, but some aircraft are required to have a specific weapon, (I.e ore tank bombs) and using a BDA bomb in its place wouldn't be allowed. So you can use BDA weapons as well as stock weapons if you want. And a radar dome is fine.
  16. Any mods are allowed, but my personal preference is Stock. and weapons must be Stock, to put everyone on an even playing field. I've all but decided on a carrier fighter jet, ground attack will probably be the week after that.
  17. A military transport capable of airdropping rovers. Though there will be a new one tomorrow, and I'm think something smaller, possibly a Ground attack plane or a carrier capable fighter, I haven't decided. Any suggestions are welcome!
