Evap's hidden side...

purdy
Very purdy indeed.

It even looks detailed from closeup!

One of the worst planets;
Is now one of the best planets.
The noiseball that it once was, is no more. It is now a living, breathing, world. It has large craterfields, and large flat areas.
Close up surface detail:

SpoilerThis time I didn't just cut out a section of the Lunar heightmap. I used areas from all over the Moon in order to make this. Credit goes to NASA for creating the map I used as a base.

Hey, is anyone interested in my Japris Stellar Neighbored Space race?

Drat, out of likes!
Great work, can’t wait to see more!
Thanks.
At this point, here's the planets/moons that most need a revamp:
All of themFuischa - Looks like a glass marble.
Desper - Canyon looks weird, terrain uninteresting.
Retuo - Noiseball.
Evap - Noiseball.Hote - Colors are off.
Oppo - Terrain extremely simplistic.

I might consider joining

Another nice picture:

After some people on discord suggested it, I've changed Jenlie crater to something a little more original, cobbled together from various regions of the Moon. Jenlie crater now looks a lot older and less defined now.
Now at least I think it looks better.

W-woah!
I'm speechless!
It's really not that interesting. All I did was
stealborrow a section of the Moon's heightmap, make it seamless, and then color it using the colors from the Original Dindin. -
I took a couple of shots from the surface and boy do they look good!
SpoilerAnother closeup of the surface:

KSP 28: Lockdown.
Kerbals in quarantine.

It's pretty sad that it got delayed, but I hope that to compensate they increase the amount of updates that they make so we won't be bored while we wait.

@DunaManiacIt looks great!
Thanks!

After that failed:
I took a different aproach:Dindin looks so much bettter now! You might be wondering, "Wow, that looks so real!" Well, it is real, courtesy to Ernie Wright and Noah Petro for the lunar heightmap (as a part of the data gifted for CGI use for artists and videogame designers) I used as a base. Jenlie crater is so big now!

2. 'Earth' with grass or vegetation with a main color other than green? Possible, although there has to be physically either a chemical or distance to the sun reason, which has a limit to which it can be adjusted and have an 'Earth' still be livable. Darker colors absorb more sunlight, which is useful for plants that are evergreen...or should I say evercolored...since it can be any color?
I could see this happening on planets which orbit around a different type of star like a red dwarf or a more massive star, the vegetation would be a different color to absorb the most amount of light.
On 11/7/2020 at 11:49 PM, Spacescifi said:1. 'Earth' with rings like Saturn? Almost, just think rings of rocky asteroids instead of ice (sun heat this close would melt Saturn's ice rings). Also those asteroid rings will not be in LEO, since they must be in a high enough orbit to be stable and not crash into the atmospheric friction. That said, rogue asteroids would fall probably more here than our Earth.
Maybe something like this would not be very hospitable to life, as a large asteroid colliding with the planet every several hundred thousand years or so would not be ideal for multicellular life to evolve.

The last planets/moons that urgently need a revamp is Dindin, possibly Desper. Thing is, I like the way it looks so much, and it was also my first realistic-looking planet, I've decided to pull some magic with Wilbur to create this:
It's similar, but different.

For 0.3.2 I've decided to change up some of the orbits of Minmus, Arayya, and Creeon.
Arayya now stands still!
It's also been significantly moved outward, more than twice it's current distance. Creeon is now an elliptical orbit, but will remain where it currently is.
This is the Arayya system. Instead of a nice circular orbit; Minmus now has an elliptical orbit, as it once was a moon of Crucible ejected from Crucible due to the rising tidal stresses of it's star.

D'oh! its saying something about needing an openGL driver, can i use gimp for height and biome maps?
You can, but it might not be good.
