I don't like building Kapybaras or Dragons, but I enjoy flying this beast!
-
Captures my feelings fairly accurately. Good thing I like Krakens!

It turns out it's actually pretty easy, because my point isn't the video or graphics- the point is that I am having fun. I'm also telling you specifically that it is KSP2 that I am having fun with, and the video is an example of the kind of fun I have. Ironically, if you can't tell the difference, then I don't really see the point in fussing over which one is better.

I found the Buddha by chance. It's right in the middle of an obvious "spot" on Tylo's surface. I was curious about the spot so did a low pass (needed a low pass for a challenge anyway). I saw a dark mark in some sand color, investigated... found an anomaly. Tylo is difficult to land on, so I feel rewarded for an equatorial landing. It was also well lit by the relations of Kerbol, Tylo, and Jool, so I may not have seen it on a different pass.

This one happens to me most often with quickloads. So... If saving changes my trim, I'd say that it's not obvious to me.

It's just, like, your opinion... so I get it... But I really don't feel like I'm being punished. I feel like I'm getting an exclusive sneak peek of something awesome! I tried going back to the original. I really did. KSP2 just has great styling. That being said, I have a nice setup and patience- if I lacked either do to funds or lack of time to play, I might share your opinion. As it is, I still don't really have either of those things, but when I say I have patience, I mean it most hypocritically- I have been waiting for years, and now I can't wait until I put my kids and SO to sleep. I've been collecting my computer for years in anticipation. I don't have other games competing for my time. I enjoy troubleshooting both bugs and builds. I love reverts and restarts. I bypass the launcher because it's faster and I have a desktop folder dedicated to .txt files. I am that masochist, as you might say, but I prefer to think of it as... Sustained belief in the team that brought it this far over some awful years, and gratefulness that I can learn the new mechanics while they finish the game. Change is inevitable. I'm gonna roll with it like a leaf in the wind.

I really do enjoy messing around with this little plane. When I first designed it for the lightest to the airfield challenge I didn't have versatility in mind, since versatility usually also means extra weight. But... After carrying it to so many moons I couldn't help but wonder why I hadn't put any Oxidizer back in and just added some Spiders... why didn't I? Because it seemed against the design for some reason. Instead, I turned it into a sub-assembly first, then decided it needed monopropellant, and then I realized it was probably OK to put Spiders on... because now it seems like the sensible add after some bizarre in-between developments. So I tear off a subassembly, slap some little burners on the back, and paint it like Mr. Stark's pet project. LAUNCH! ... and we're on the launchpad. I always make that mistake. Oh well, might as well make a test out of it! And what a test it ended up being! Listen, folks... this is as good of an endorsement as I can make- this flight was a first take- It's a fairly easy and fun craft to fly. I hope you get a chance to check it out! (No pressure. I get that not everyone is into the aviation bit as much) Playing around like this really helps me break up larger missions- gotta take a break from all the interplanetary drama!

Well Folks, it's time for another "OneOscar" update. You may be familiar with the infamous "OneOscar" FG dubbed "R2-Redo" found here: Today I unveil the newest vehicle in the "OneOscar" Lineup! I present: "OneOscar" FGMC Spider, AKA "IronOscar" Here's a video demonstrating the crafts abilities: I even made a swanky and totally less than expert Tutorial to ease your mind and help you take your first flight! Here's the craft file: https://pastebin.com/5JXHDHkC Enjoy!

"Fly Low on Tylo" @Superfluous J Tylo Low Flyby This video is spoiler heavy, but the challenge inspired it... so... here it is. It's the first chapter of the vid.

Once in a while I still need a game restart to get control back in order. I swear that sometimes axis get switched or turned off, or dimmed, if that makes sense. Like, proportionally unresponsive. I've also found roll issues that come from symmetry problems, like something mirrored onto something radial- ex. wings on opposite radial tanks. Anyways... Today I went to Tylo for a challenge and ended up staying for a (spoiler)

The Tylo Buddha is surrounded by not 2, but 3 glowing orbs. Pardon my terrible aim. I didn't even notice until the editing stage. How about a video of the long journey I took to this monument in a craft meant for Laythe?

On console you had a Mun base. You had to unlock it in the tech tree. It was an amazing way to test vehicles in low gravity, since you could choose to launch from Kerbin or the Mun! I'm most excited for colonies for this reason- I assume, or hope, that inorder to have a VAB on another planet you'll be required to have landed on a celestial body before being able to set up a base. Maybe there are other requirements like some payload to deliver. Once a base is established on a body you should always have the option to launch from that body, just like unlocking Mun in the console tech tree.

I find that at it's core, this is what Kerbal Space Program teaches players who stick to the game. While some players may just see what sticks, it really comes down to how much further did they want to go, rather than their play style. EVERY scientific adventure begins with a hypothesis (even bad ones). Every return to the concept will inevitably gain the experience of prior experiments (even if the experience only leads to another poor hypothesis). To that end, there are a lot of players that only ever want to load someone elses craft and push launch. It's nice to see when someone new finds joy in the iterative process as in OP's case.

I tested out live: I'm going to fine tune it. I'll probably dedicate some time weekly.

Definitely a recommended experience. 10/10 will do again. And the Tutorial that became a short because I became distracted while cruising around Bop.

This is probably better received in Discussion. My vote is for Bop, even though your poll is closed.

As I was recording today, I realized that it's probably not too difficult for me to set up a stream. I put on infinite propellant and went cruising around Laythe in a little SSTO. I kept thinking that would be the perfect opportunity to let people guide the search for... I dunno, something amazing?

Is there a way to determine a celestial body's prime meridian?

It just seemed like a better demonstration with Jool in the background.

Happpy Monday! I'm having fun in the Jool system lately. Laythe is probably my favorite celestial body in the game- It has Jool as a backdrop and you can fly jets on it, and they have superpowers! Like when Superman goes from Krypton to Earth! Anyway, I had a "OneOscar" Photoshoot in my newly developed "OneOscar" SG5WM dubbed "Kryptonite" on Laythe's northern cap with Jool in the background. I need to make a video of this, it's a neat craft. The SSTO that "Kryptonite" rides on is called "fLex", based on it's versatility and its connection to its partner "OneOscar" craft. Both of these craft are carried to the Joolian system on the "BopMobile", named for a challenge I am working to complete. Thanks for reading! Enjoy some cool screenshots! Come join the "OneOscar" Fan Club! We can do spins!

I have a channel here: Socraticat - YouTube I'm more into editing my game play and taking requests. I'm currently recording around Laythe. "Kerman Von Braun" (aka @FlazeTheDragon) has a channel as well, and I know he streams, because I've watched it: Kerman von Braun - YouTube

If you exit a grumble seat while upside down on a surface you'll fall through every time.

Don't forget thrust. Your brick will need some form of thrust attached to it. Oh... and fuel! But probably not much since it's just a brick.
