  1. They seem to be having issues with the cameras on the second stage... Oh! New camera angle on the boat
  2. The capsule is doing this if there's nothing left on board to control it - either a kerbal or a probe core. With no control left on it, SAS, and therefor the reaction wheels, are disabled. When your kerbal pushes off the pod, it puts a force on the pod that is not aligned with the center of mass, which causes it to spin. So the first fix is to stick a probe core on board that will keep SAS running. The second fix is a bit of a trick. If you time warp, all motion stops as the game stops calculating physics during normal time warp. If you tap > and then tap / to time warp for just a second, your pod will stop spinning.
  3. Proton is both a blessing and a curse for Linux gaming. Its intention is the blessing... let Linux users be able to play Windows-only games with out any sort of emulation or dual booting system. However, it makes the catch-22 even worse. "Nobody uses Linux, because nothing works on Linux... nothing's developed for Linux because nobody uses it.... because nothing works on Linux..." Now we throw "Why should I develop a Linux version? Just use Proton" into the mix. Proton is great. Some of my games work flawlessly after one or two clicks. Some need hours of troubleshooting to work at 1/3rd the framerate. Some don't work at all. I first started realizing this when Borderlands 3 came to Steam. Borderlands 2 and TPS have Linux versions. BL3 does not. I call that a regression. And now we also have KSP, which has a Linux version. While KSP 2, being built on the same engine, will not have one.. at least on release. And that's all we've gotten. Not "We'll get to it when everything's settled." Just "No plans at this time." It's very much making me on the fence as to whether or not I'll buy it at release.
  4. Hello @Goodnesz, and welcome to the forum! I've moved your post to our Welcome Aboard section. What are you having trouble starting? Do you own the game? Need help getting the game? Need help using the forum?
  5. I hope this isn't a trend brought on by complacency.
  6. Another thread regarding the new UI has been merged into this one. I'm also not liking some of the changes. The invisible login being a setting now is nice, but these round profile images don't sit well with me. I don't mind the brightness, I actually have trouble seeing on dark mode themes. The URL link coloring seems to be back to normal.
  7. @Klapaucius, I've merged your thread into the New UI thread in Kerbal Network
  8. Note the post count under your avatar is a bit misleading, as posts in The Lounge and Forum Games don't increment it. So unless you've never posted in The Lounge, you've likely shot past your 300th post long ago.
  9. I can view @Jimbodiah's image just fine in Chrome.
  10. I think I figured it out. It's an SSL thing. It would seem that certain browsers don't embed images that are being hosted on an insecure site, like yours. I tried with my own after seeing @Deddly's post. I tried embedding an image from my site, which does not have SSL, and Firefox would embed it while Chrome would not. Seems kind odd that the browsers don't care about displaying the images, the problem just lies with embedding them. The editor also will not parse <img> tags, so that won't work. You'll need to make your posts with your pictures using a browser the embeds for you, like the ones in the post above, host your images elsewhere, or get an SSL cert for your site. I believe there are free ones. Edit: Confirmed. I got one of those free SSL certs and then the image embedded in Chrome.
  11. Typically the only reason I use thuds is to give launchers vector control when their main engine doesn't have it, say if I'm using a clusters of reliants on the first stage. So it would seem something is wrong on your end.
  12. Threads of the year have been done. AFAIK there hasn't been a thread of the decade and I don't think there will be one.
  13. You can suggest threads by using the Report Post button, and letting us know that you'd like to nominate for TOTM.
  14. If they're insisting on keeping that menu, there could at least be some kind of indicator on the PAW that more options are available by doing <instructions on enabling advanced tweakables>
  15. Absolutely. I see nothing in the Advanced Tweakables options that would be intimidating for new players. Just the opposite, not having some of the not-actually-that-advanced features is going to be detrimental. The whole functionality of the Advanced Tweakables toggle being an option should be removed, or at the very least defaulted to 'on'.
  16. Please have a purpose when starting a thread. Thank you.
  17. I've tried using those open fairings as cargo bays, Dragon trunk-style. It seems that nothing affects what's inside until the fairing is deployed. Robotics don't work. If you decouple something, say a payload inside a "trunk", it doesn't move. It just sits in place. So would a payload pushed out with a piston be subject to aero forces? No way to know, since you can't push anything out with a piston.
