KSP 2 Multiplayer Discussion Thread
Bej Kerman replied to Johnster_Space_Program's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
I warp to any other celestial body. I just don't warp to Kerbin orbit. You warp to any other celestial body? But your idea implies you don't mind sitting for hours, or even days when going between moons. Are you saying that timewarp is needed? Because it is. Everyone else timewarps, even across "short" distances. Bottom line: independent timewarp stays, and your idea has to center around that. Timewarp is a critical feature, whether interplanetary or in orbit. It's hasty to decide no-one else needs timewarp for low Kerbin orbit.- 1,629 replies

KSP 2 Multiplayer Discussion Thread
Bej Kerman replied to Johnster_Space_Program's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
You only dock to your own agency's craft or to another agency's but only after requesting and receiving permission. So if you don't get accepted, you can just ram the docking port and cause more damage than if you were allowed to dock? I never warp to get to orbit. There will be no warping close to the planet in multiplayer, I'm sure of it. You never warp to get to the Mun, or even Minmus? Go on, do that without warping, and you'll see how badly timewarp is needed in KSP.- 1,629 replies

KSP 1's original lore made it clear the monoliths are the origin of the Kerbals.- 344 replies

Rask and Rusk should be evidence enough you don't have to simulate tidal effects to just model the effects in a static manner. Literally my first message to you here was me agreeing that the planets don't need to move. You don't like it when I misquote you, so why are you misrepresenting me? Everything on from that point was me just going along for the sake of it. Why are you insisting that the planets need to move and have simulated tidal effects?
-
I'm not you and don't find programming fun. I do, however, find piloting fun. That seems to be the majority of people here, also. Bottom line still being don't do latency at all. It won't be "same as kerbal without kerbal" at all. Kerbals can reproduce, run colonies, etc. Probes can't do that. Bottom line is still, of course, don't do latency at all.
-
The moon causes significant tides, and you're telling me that if an Earth-sized planet were to pass closer to Earth than the moon is, just barely skimming the atmosphere, that tidal forces don't mean anything in that situation? Et cetera et cetera, whatever. Temperature and roche spheres can be static values, it doesn't matter.
-
So you propose that probe cores should be reworked? Honestly, I agree with you on that one. No, I didn't say that. I propose we do away with input latency. Full control, no latency. Pre-programmed inputs in-lore, whatever. There's no reason to hinder gameplay for silly challenge aspects that don't do anything to make the game any more rewarding or fun. [snip]

Kerbal Space Program 2: Episode 5 - Interstellar Travel

No because they always get stranded in the trailers. I still think it's plain daft to think the mun rocket is hinting at anything.- 344 replies

Kerbal Space Program 2: Episode 5 - Interstellar Travel
Bej Kerman replied to StarSlay3r's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
Almost certain based on what pattern? I'd like to see it the same way as you do, but the next one being about a Mun landing needs some pretty conclusive evidence to be "almost certain". Aziz is just making stuff up now I'd say it sounded more like it came from Minecraft, or something similar to C418's style. I'm still sad Andrew Prahlow is being neglected in the wider gaming industry.- 344 replies

Orbital Megastructures

Then the other parts would be too small to match the structural parts. -
What is the top half of the screen showing? Why is the front door of the VAB seemingly clipping through a ground?

Kerbal Space Program 2: Episode 5 - Interstellar Travel
Bej Kerman replied to StarSlay3r's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
By showing procedural radiators due to "heat needs" and futuristic engines, it's kind of implied that yeah, we are gonna have nuclear reactos in space, heck, since they're going scifi we might even have fusion. We're not going sci-fi, and I wouldn't say fusion is necessarily sci-fi.- 344 replies
