  1. I would reference it if I remember, I’ll have to look but I believe it was one of the early interviews or maybe in PC gamers article. Having just one destination, just one meaningful interstellar trajectory to travel along, would be extremely underwhelming. I'm betting that interview is either outdated or being misremembered.
  2. Wasn't the discussion about not being able to timewarp in orbit?
  3. An SRB is already an engine and is prone to the same balancing issues. It was hastily deemed unnecessary by Nate, but that doesn't mean it's necessarily true. There are millions of applications for tiny and differently shaped solar panels - it doesn't start and end at being "big, interestingly-shaped" as Nate said.
  4. It's hasty to call underexposing background stars an improvement. The skybox provides a reference frame to orient yourself, and when it's absent this can prove quite disorientating.
  5. Maybe ask Einstein or Newton. The other option is waiting hours, days or even weeks for otherwise trivial tasks. Bottom line, timewarp is needed. 1000% agree with you there.
  6. Yes, depending on exposure. Depends if the devs go photorealistic or stylised. Yes, that's why the Sun isn't turning you into plasma right now. It's why stars are dim. But light doesn't "dissipare", it spreads out. By asking if we can even see ships in interstellar space, you're answering your own question. Refer to:
  7. That's not at all what we're talking about. Official multiplayer in KSP 2 has been confirmed for most of its history.
  8. It's not in orbit, it's direct intercept. It's on a suborbital trajectory. It isn't intercepting anything. Yeah, very similar. Basically the same idea from a slightly different angle, lol. But thanks for the credit I don't think giving singleplayer online content would be necessary when the kind of modding we've got right now works fine.
  9. So in other words, just the basic multiplayer that Dark MultiPlayer offers? Sounds much better than the MMO, I can get behind that.
  10. What advantages does this have over just choosing the mods yourself? Quite frankly, outside of multiplayer I don't want any online functionality.
  11. Why? 500 meters would probably be the bare minimum needed for interstellar.
  12. That's a big assumption. The parts won't fit inside the VAB so you will need to go into space to launch megaships.
  13. Might've missed the latest KSP 2 video. They're wanting to put in Brachistone trajectories. You're thinking too deep. They just mean the rules are going to be the same. They didn't literally mean every nook and cranny of the physics will be identical.
  14. An a similar note, funny cloud patterns I saw near a Valve office mean Half Life 3 is confirmed. Second to last one. FY2023 doesn't end for nearly a year, and I'm betting the devs are willing to spend as much time "killing the kraken" as possible so we don't release with all the bugs we had to put up with through KSP 1's life.
  15. There will only be a few stars in KSP 2. Not all the stars in the skybox will be real places, unless the devs decide tomorrow they'd like to spend another 150 years developing each individual star on the skybox.
  16. We gathered that already. My pitch drop prediction has it coming out late March or early April 2023 as that would be 8 years after KSP1 dropped out of beta and the pitch drop takes about that long to drop on average. And it would fit the FY2022 just barely. I hope that is wrong As long as KSP 2 gets as much polish as possible, I don't really care how long it'll take to come out.
  17. Then we can use timewarp anyway, right? Free for all, create asteroids that fragment when under stress. I wrote short story about this. Assuming all asteroids would fragment. 1. Some asteroids may be tough and 2. Not all engines will be powerful enough to do this. Assuming the asteroid doesn't break, which is much more likely, what then? No outside-team physical interactions as stated above + lucrative cleanup contracts. Again, wouldn't that make disabling timewarp unnecessary?
