  1. The WARN act notice was posted. What do you mean we don't know anything? We already know. Your wanting it to be otherwise changes nothing.
  2. They haven't responded yet. If the news was "nah fam, everthing's fine, no worries" they would have said so. The persistence with which some people insist on clinging to hope despite all evidence to the contrary is genuinely shocking. This is the kind of behavior which sees broken cash grab games keep going into early access as a dumping ground. This kind of thinking keeps that a valid business strategy.
  3. @Dakota @Nate Simpson can you comment on this?
  4. Oh, dear... We can't have that, now can we? You sweet summer child. Might want to double check that yourself... that's the only studio T2 has in Seattle, as far as anyone can tell.
  5. It is over. They are getting laid off. The legal notices have been filed. I can't comprehend your line of thinking. How you feel does not factor into this, it has already been decided. What's to wait and see? The fact that it makes you feel uncomfortable and disharmonious is not a factor in any way. The sooner the denial ends, the sooner you can move on.
  6. They would have been in here right away to dispel any false ideas about studio closure. The fact that nobody fron the impacted studio has said anything official yet is telling enough. It's over. Just waiting on the legal-team approved Nate post.
  7. I'm reading continued "support" as NOT being continued "development." They had 100% the opportunity to say that development will continue, and very clearly said "support" instead. No timeframe for "support" was mentioned. That's as good as it gets for now. Looks like the article writer is the one who is making the claim KSP2 is safe, despite the legally clear and distinct statement.
  8. Yup. There are some people who have a very hard time reading corporate speak. The article said they are continuing to support KSP2, which is correct at this second since it's still available. That may or may not change in the weeks ahead. As you said, it's mighty hard to develop a game without developers. They don't really need to put out a notice of cancellation, you got the product you paid for.
  9. There is a very real chance that you will be strung along indefinitely. They can claim to be working on it, while devoting 2 employee hours a quarter to it. It would then still technically and legally be in development.
  10. Probably the review-bombing prevention algorithm kicked in then and has since released it's grip.
  11. You verified this personally by making a first review when you've never reviewed KSP2 before? If so, they may be actively managing this as word gets out to try to manage perceptions. It doesn't necessarily imply ill intent on the part of the one who originally posted, and may vary by jurisdiction based on laws that T2 expects may apply in event of a cancellation. As for the news, it's hard to argue with the WARN act legal notice. The team is being laid off. They will not likely hire a new team AGAIN to work on a flailingly failing project. The only question now is how the existing product is handled and whether purchasers will "get to keep the product they paid for," get a refund, a 1.0 patch gets pushed out at the last minute, or T2 continues to "work on" the game until the heat death of the universe.
  12. What they said was you cannot make a NEW review right now, not that you couldn't see reviews or edit existing ones.
  13. The company sent out a WARN notice (legally required govt document) indicating 70 staff at the Seattle office are being laid off. You do not get more official than that. That's the only office they have in Seattle. In addition to workers posting they're looking for jobs, were laid off etc. In addition to job postings for the office going to dead links. In addition to... It's over. They are NOT going to bring in another studio for this game, they did that once already. RIP Kerbal. Killed in action development.
  14. Please close my forum account. Despite the date listed when I opened >this < forum account, I've been with kerbal since harvester created it as nothing but blog posts you couldn't play yet. That said, T2 killed it. Not in the good way. Close me out. I waste too much time caring about this dumpster fire.
  15. So I guess this is the thread that all the "not overtly positive and supportive" threads get dumped into? Looks like there's more activity here than the rest of the KSP2 forum. This "only positivity allowed" direction the world is taking is bizarre and dystopian.
  16. Maybe we should have a candlelight vigil post where we can all mourn the hopeful promise that KSP2 gave us during those dark covidian times.
  17. I think a lot of people are wondering this. We're over 6 months since EA release, and basic things like reentry haven't been added yet. You're still discussing having discussions about plans for features. In the month of September 2023, how many people were working exclusively on KSP2 and no other title for 40 hours or more per week? Don't twist this question, it's a simple question the community deserves an honest response to. People deserve some honesty. What portion of the team has been allocated to work on a title other than KSP2?
  18. They're still making videos about them discussing fixing things, and what routes they're considering taking with those fixes. It's laughable fraud and scamming. It feels like they honestly expected the modders to leap to the rescue and finish the game for them for free.
  19. You believe this? You must not have been watching since mid 2019 like many of us. They showed colonies, interstellar, tons of parts we don't have, etc etc etc. They made entire feature videos about it. Here we are in late 2023, and we don't have things they showed in mid 2019. Don't tell me about videos and supposed progress. They need to deliver it to paying customers, otherwise it's lies.
  20. They've had nearly a year to produce something meaningful. I've seen teams of ONE PERSON produce more over that timespan! That is not exaggeration.
  21. Misinformation: KSP2 is being actively developed by a large team of talented developers intent on making it the best it can be. They aren't going to tell you that the team of 50 people is working on something else 97% of the time and giving KSP2 scraps of time as it earns money. You have to infer that from the rate of progress on KSP2, the knowledge that the publisher is working on another space game, and the insufficient job postings to support hiring a new team. Let me ask you plainly: do you think the progress on KSP2 since EA launch is the result of 50 full time employees? Do you really need to see a company-embarassing and shareholder value dropping press release telling you this? They want the investors to see profit at the end of the rainbow so they don't sell stock. You are not going to be told since it would impact valuations. You'll have to figure it out yourself. Let me also ask: What of their official information has proven reliable that you trust them to tell the truth about this now?
  22. What needs to happen is all of the "let them cook" and "it's crap now but will be good later" positive reviews need to go, then this dumpster fire will burn out on its own. The only people buying right now have to be uninformed kids dazzled by the salesmanship of Nate and the flashy-fun trailers. Almost nothing on steam gets as bad reviews as KSP2, it's really rare to see. Sales for this game should be suspended or it should be cancelled. It's the only good faith way of handling a game that they've apparently got a skeleton crew working on part time. Scummy company. Scummy management. Scummy marketing. Hey T2: that game you moved the devs to will be just as bad.
  23. I hate to inform you, but KSP2 is not worth the time or money. You're going to be disappointed. Have you looked into the actual state of the game and the rate at which they're putting work into it? I'd just wait on KSP2 until you get out of college, assuming you're maybe 10 I'm guessing by the post. By then, it'll either be done or unfinished abandonware. Also, are you trying to solicit for someone else to buy you a computer? Cause that's what it sounds like.
  24. Oh, neat. Someone is going to tell us things instead of giving substantive game updates that add content and fix bugs. Great. That's wonderful, thanks. How generous of the team.
