We try to activate the teleportation chips, but it is no use. Jeb and his friends have already been recovered and are now in the crew roster of the RSS/RO save's Kerbonaut Complex.

So... KSP lore. This has been discussed in the occasional forum now and then, so I figured we needed some kind of megathread to discuss our view on KSP lore. *If something like this already exists, please delete this thread. Who are the Kerbals, anyway? Why is Kerbin so barren? Why do they want to go to space so badly? And what do the Monoliths and Easter Eggs mean? And then maybe some less important lore, like: What do Kerbals eat? How do they survive in a tiny cramped capsule on long voyages? What is Jeb's personality? What about lore about your space program? Who runs it? How do they treat Kerbals? Why do they explore? I'll go first. If it's a long explanation, please put it in a spoiler tab like I am. What do you think?

I just need to get all my thoughts about the KSP2 EA situation out, right here, right now. First things first, to all the people whining about how the game is so bad or whatever... 1. The developers never said the game was going to be perfect from the start. Nate Simpson even said that, in his own words, "We're gonna get some things wrong. We're gonna make some assumptions that are incorrect. We're gonna fail out loud." Did he, or any KSP2 dev, ever say the game was going to be bug-free? 2. Making a new game and making a mod is completely different. I've heard the argument that modded KSP1 is way better than KSP2, and that the KSP2 team aren't "real developers" because they can't even do things that modders can do. I'll be honest, I've never made any KSP mod, but its easy to see that adding features to an already built game is much easier than building a game from scratch. And on top of that, the KSP2 team is adding the features that would have come with mods in KSP1 to the base game. KSP1 may be nicer with mods, but it definitely didn't have KSP2's graphics on launch, which brings me to #3: 3. KSP1 was like this on its own EA, maybe even in a lesser state. In KSP1's beta, there were no orbital mechanics, no Mun, no map view, no struts, no time-warp, and Kraken attacks still did happen. KSP2 has beautiful graphics, the whole revamped Kerbolar System, loads of parts, and time zoom. I'm not saying that KSP1 is bad, but KSP2 definitely has a head start. So why is everyone so much madder? 4. If you don't like it... Then you can do two things: 1. Just not play it. Delete it if it takes too much memory, but you don't need to play it just to find reasons to hate it. Or... 2. You can figure out what you don't like about it, (this can be bugs, features, etc.) and make a post or something that breaks down the issues you've discovered, which gives the developers information to make the game better. Honestly, the QA Direction Darrin from the KSP2 team nailed it in this dev diary: Maybe the KSP2 team isn't ignorant. Maybe you're just not voicing your concerns in a way they can respond to. 5. The KSP2 team is very passionate despite what you might say. In just a couple months, they gotten rid of the worst game-breaking bugs in the game. They've listened to our concerns, they're not denying the game has problems, and they're actively working to make the game better. They aren't lazy, despite what you might think. Dataminers have gone through and found tons of nearly-finished assets in the game's coding. Perhaps they were truly a few steps away from the finish line until they got forced into early access. 6. Do not be toxic. There's are those reasons above why being toxic and complaining isn't reasonable. And it's getting out of hand, too. Once, I was trying to watch a Youtube video about KSP 1 and was greeted with the youtuber rambling about how KSP2 sucks and that the KSP2 devs aren't real developers. In a KSP1 video. Remember when KSP2 went on sale for the summer? I remember seeing all those posts from people jumping to conclusions that Intercept Games was so desperate they put KSP2 on sale only a few months after launch. It's a Summer Sale. If you're in such a toxic mindset, you'll constantly see bad things in the developers and their actions, even when they intend good things. Well, that's about everything that I've had bottled up inside of me after seeing all these toxic posts for months on end. Hopefully people will understand what I'm saying.

CCC intervenes before the terraforming operation begins. We want to keep Duna in its current state in case organisms do exist there. Drastically changing the environment can possibly wipe out alien life on the planet. We gave you some more funding to allow for para-terraforming of the area around the KSC, but no more than that.

Beyond: Kerbalkind's History of Space Exploration
TwoCalories replied to Kerbalsaurus's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Um, no offense to @Dunas Only Moon, but the MLO seems like an inefficient use of a moderately-sized launch vehicle like that. Wouldn't it be better to at least have two Kerbals on there, if you can fit in a second cockpit into the craft? -

The Sky is Not the Limit - UPDATE: NEW THREAD OUT!
TwoCalories replied to TwoCalories's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
You know, the real-life Eagle's Ascent Stage might still be in Lunar orbit today. And it's not like there's actually orbital decay in KSP, so one day I might bring the historic spacecraft home. We'll see.- 217 replies

The Third Great Number War: The Long Haul!
TwoCalories replied to AtomicTech's topic in Forum Games!
Okay, I understand now. "P" symbolizes what side you're on, and the "#" or "-#" symbolizes if it's a negative number or not. I think I understand now. Game Rules. These are the game rules. As per instructions from the moderators. There is to be no role play elements to the battle. Simple exclamations that we are getting ahead or falling behind, or saying you need help are fine, but no suggestion that you are part of an army or fantasy faction in some epic confrontation. It is more or less attempting to reach a goal line and passing to another with the same goal or getting intercepted by someone going the other way. There is a term used in the forums called "Being Ninja'd". Basically if while you are typing your post someone else posts a move and you don't see it till you have refreshed your page. This then causes you to have to edit your post to correct for the new number. It is then not unheard of for someone to post before you have had a chance to edit your post and so a cascade effect happens. To make clear your original intent in the hopes of lessening this, These are the rules for posting as follows. When posting please preface your number by one of 4 letters. P if you are trying to get the score to +75 N if you are trying to get the score to -75 Z if your goal is to get the score to zero C if you are chaotic and just post as you feel, but your number must only be 1 different from the last post put. The addition of the number 1 or the subtraction of the number 1. By doing this a player can see what you intended to put and post knowing what it would be if you had not been ninja'd. There is a 5 minute rule for individual number posts done by you, this is to minimize spam and ninja posting. To post a new number post, there are 4 rules that must be followed for it to be considered valid. To make a valid number post, 1: Your previous post must say it was made 5 minutes or greater before your current. 2: Any other player must have posted a number post between your last post and your new post. 3: Your post must be only 1 number different from the last post. Clarification: The number must be the whole number known as 1, spelt One. Either the addition of 1 or the subtraction of 1. 4: Your number must have a preface letter. All new games must start with a "0" . If you posted the winning post, be it +75 or -75 , then it is asked that you copy this post into a new post and update the tally so that this is at the beginning of a new game. Tally of victories positives 12 negatives 8- 30,300 replies

Originally this was going to be a short, TW@K (This Week at KASA) post, but I kept taking more screenshots and one thing led to another, and now I have a whole chapter's worth of photos. So, without further ado... Chapter Eleven: Coming Home- 217 replies

The CCC activates a teleportation chip implanted in Jeb and Val's vessel, which teleports them back to the Kerbal Universe. The CCC took these measures to ensure that chaos stays in the Kerbal Universe, where it's much easier to handle.
