I would at least expect 0.2.2 to come since another month would definitely be enough for IG to finish on some bugfixes. 0.2.3? I don't know, probably would come out but likely won't be much. As for colonies, I have no clue, but I suppose they would release a bare-bones version of it and then fix the bugs at a slow rate (by slow I mean 2x slower than previously). The game will live on, we know that, but in which way we don't know.

It's just very like the good ol' days of summer last year, when everything related to the game is bad news, even the good ones are said to be fake or "corporatiative speak", and small ones get exaggurated to infinity (e.g. Nerdy_Mike gets laid off but will stay until late June, the first gets mentioned a lot while the second part gets ignored).
-
I appreciate your faith and an apparently non-aggressive attitude towards the game. It’s pretty rare these days.

For certain people who like to go to steamdb to check player counts, you can always click the "depots" button to check recent dev branch updates. You can clearly see changes have been made to some of the branches just a few moments ago, so yeah development is clearly going on or at the very least the game hasn't been completely abandoned. Development is still ongoing so there's at least some means of hope. I'd say the developers need to implement the official modloading tool into the game first so it would serve as a better base for mods, since they are important for improving the first game.

Can we please get an update as to what’s going on?

I like how you don't blame IG and the "devs". Really haters these days just think everything bad about KSP2 as the developers' (usually refered to as just Nate's) faults, the only excaption being that they would blame Dakota/Ghostii_space when thier's miscommunication. -

Yeah, I doubt if those people saying “KSP2 is dead” have read the news, the seattle office won’t be closed until June 28th, at the worst the game still has a little under 2 months to live. I suppose some people really want to see KSP2 dead right now so they are saying that. Maybe but at least we can say if the branches are updated then there must be something out there that updates it. Plus, the voyager and development branches aren’t updated on a schedule, we know this because the timespan between updates of these branches aren’t consistent. -
Yes the music was just amazing. Btw, player count means less than you might think, steamdb only counts those people who launch it via steam and a lot do not such as me.

What would happen if I set MaxVerticalAccel to exactly zero and enable takeoff mode? Would I get a perfect hover mode that has a TWR of exactly 1 at all altitude?

Then some people (maybe not you) would complain about how unplayable anything below 144fps is and use that ans an excuse to hate. Really some people today use everything they come up with to hate the game. I often do VTOL planes and thus have to keep close eyes on both altitude and vertical velocity. KSP2 solves that problem so I perfer its UI.

Just noticed for the Type F shuttle, you made a small mistake with the .cfg for the main hull: PitchTorgue = 160 YawTorque = 160 RollTorque = 160 That Torgue instead of torque made KSP automatically set Pitchtorque to the default value of 5 so really akward when using. Not a huge issue and probably been pointed out before. ps, since I know the slidebar thing isn't coming soon, please at least tell me how to modify the impulse engines to let them have a constant vertical acceleration on a certain hover mode instead of having a "hoverAlt", I desperately want the engine to have a constant output!!!

Yeah so that's your opinions. Mine? Well the UI thing first, I like it simply by not having to constantly shift eyes up and down during a landing, might be a cause of me usually playing on a large screen. For the sequal part, yes if we just look at the current status of KSP2 then I agree with you, the current game is just a repeat of the first game. They reinvented the wheel but only got so far. I know this game, in its current state, isn't the KSP2 we all imagined 5 years ago, what you've said is just another way of saying "this game doesn't match up my expectations". But for me, a different game is enough, , it's dissapointing but still playable, I don't know whether it would become the game we all dreamed of and only future can tell us what will happen so I'd just settle with what I got. About the rig thing, my NUC8i7 can run the game at 20 FPS with medium graphics when launching a small rocket plane, perhaps 15 with moderately larger ships. The framerate was never an issue for me, perhaps I'm just not used to fast gaming.

Is that Spectra without Scatterer? happy to see another person using the same unpopular config like me. Anyways, this issue could be caused by Sushut's main menu mod if you have it installed, otherwise not sure.
-
I like KSP2 and I fear it fail to match our expectations. Yes the long wait between updates was not the best, recent news made it worse, but I still like the game and want it to succeed. Less faith but not all is lost. Worst case scenario: KSP2 gets abandoned after proposed IG clousure in July and never recieves any more major milestone updates, same as KSP1 after 1.12. The game would still have more than a month to live at worst and the modding community will continue to support it just like what they did a few years ago to KSP1. If so then it's just another repeat of the first game. This is unlikely for me since T2 would be losing potential money, as many people would buy KSP2 after some more updates (eg. Colonies, Interstellar, Multiplayer). Still can't understand those people hating KSP2. After all it's just a simulation game. Not worth your time to hate, especially if you haven't bought the game.
-
Yeah, the current ones are just reskins you've said. Nice but I surely perfer KSP2's UI over KSP1's. I doubt that could be backported though, KSP1's basic UI layout has remain unchanged ever since the modding community was here, so it's probably deep inside the codebase and pretty hard to change.
-
I agree. They are doing real stuff despite all the hate, but not sure if the game would recover from this month's incident and continue going like it did. Still, the game is recieveing updates so I would suspect that at least some kind of development is going on, the game for at least now isn't completely dead.

Well for me I personally don't believe that much in "past track records", and just because it takes this long between this update and the next one doesn't mean it would be the case forever. I'd think the gap betwwen 0.2.1 and 0.2.2 would be much longer than the one between 0.2.2 and 0.2.3, since the latest update shows something that's not going to be in the game in 0.2.2. My speculation is that 0.2.3 would come about a month after 0.2.2 and will include a plume overhaul, perhaps a few more parts but no big content update. The multi-layer clouds will come in 0.3.0 or after that. Still, some hope is good. -
What hyped me the most are the NTR plume changes. I always wanted blue/purple-ish exhausts from nuclear rockets and I have to say I'm seeing my dream come alive at last. P.S. Please! Fix flat-bottom clouds before adding multiple layers. I always have a strange feeling that flying just beneath the current clouds is like faying with sheets of paper floating above. If this problem doesn't get addressed then it would probably get worse once we have multiple cloud layers.

I've been using this mod for a while, it just suits perfectly for my ST-themed creations. However, I do notice two problems that may or may not be caused by accident: 1. Impulse engines' hover mode can't be turned off. Even more, the takeoff mode gives a TWR of slightly larger than 1 and the landing mode has a TWR of a little less than 1. I think it would be better to have the ability to turn hover mode to off or to make TWR in different modes customizable, probably via a slidebar or something alike. 2. The bridge of Constitution-class ships have no IVA. Now I know you might just not have the time to do that, but there's already an existing one in ScifiShipyards. You could probably re-use it.

SciFi Shipyards Redux 0.6 Beta (W.I.P.)

Wow that's fantastic! Still, the original bridge model for the original Enterprise NCC-1701-Nothing is great. Hope you get that one working in-game soon. -

I might be late but PLEASE DO BRING OUT THE ENTERPRISE! The Trekdrive one is detailed for sure but IT HAS NO IVA and star trek ships without bridge views are less than interesting. -
Kerbal Space Program 2 (maybe being restarted) Hype Train.
Alpha_star replied to AtomicTech's topic in KSP2 Discussion
First of all sorry for that miscalculation. September would be 9 months from FS!, about as long as what it takes for KSP2 to get from EA to the first major update. I'd say I hope colonies come out in or before summer, that's to say, about June or July. Of course since I don't like building bases that much having that update or not but it MIGHT MATTER A LOT TO KSP2 "HATERS" since their attempt to spread hate in the Kerbal community has been largely stopped by the release of FS! I go to Reddit once in a while, and when I did so a day ago I found several people saying bad stuff about KSP2 eg. moderators deleting negative posts, updates too slow etc., all of them repeated for dozens of not hundreds of times in the past. If the game upsets those types of people them I'd say we would see a lot of hate.- 938 replies

Wait a minute, what did you include in the album? A STAR TREK BRIDGE? I suppose it's *slightly* bigger than the standard MK3 form factor?

Anyone else having a guess at when 0.3.0 releases? I'm suspecting it's 2 patch plus a hotfix from now so it looks like July-August for me.- 938 replies
