The reentry effects mod by MirageDev is just awesome. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40GlhlkMYJk

Honestly I'm not really a fan of the "KSRSS" style solar system. Games with their own systems work better for me and almost any space simulator game did just that (except for Oribiter, SR1 and SFS), while their communities can always make a real solar system mod by themselves. Anyways this whole concept is still pretty neat, at least we've got yet another (at least to some degree) official sequal to the original Kerbal Space Program. May this franchise lives long and prosper.

New compatibility: RSS-Reborn Note that I have a craft landed at Mars to prove this is indeed Real Solar System.

Actually you aren't supposed to use Restock alongside with TURD. But considering you also used Restock+ it would make sense if you'd use some procedural parts and recolor them via TU. -
Spotted a UFO while scouting, anyone know what this is?

There are some ST mods made by Skunkworks on spacedock and some of them do have additional ships you've said.

Trying it, and video is currently WIP. A bug sometimes makes engine plumes dissapear but the lighting effects remain intact. Doesn't affect game experience and I'll try to avoid it while recording footage.

Negative things about the game, development, and the silence
Alpha_star replied to Izny's topic in KSP2 Discussion
Agreed. Even Dakota was being liquided at. She's just a CM and got hated simply because she represented KSP2 in some ways. People were/are hating KSP2 in every way possible, as far as I've seen. Personal attacks are just the top of the iceburg. Communication and info about game development? Bad because the devs (in the real world there's a thing called community manager) are wasting their time talking to us and facts aside they are of course lying. Less communication? Even worse because facts aside everyone knows the game would die if no devs are telling us the news (albait that's proabably true now). -
Negative things about the game, development, and the silence
Alpha_star replied to Izny's topic in KSP2 Discussion
People like attatcching their emotions on something in real life instead of something abstract like a "game studio" or a "corperation", most of the time it's a person and in this case it's Nate Simpson. Some people hate KSP2 and since it's Nate who shows in front of us most of the time it would be natural that they redirect their negatives to Nate himself. -
And again to T2's view there's absolutly no point in keeping projects that can't bring them money alive. It's not even about the developers' anything, just no point in funding KSP2 itself. They probably don't care that much about how we players think. And they tricked us into thinking that this very company could take good care of the franchise and both KSP games. P.S. If Nate wasn't lying when he said "we are properly funded" back last year then that means T2 not only lied to us but also the developers that are (were) working right on the game. If they can't speak truth to the developers and won't let them realize what situation they are within then why should we trust them?
-
At least he got the "who's to blame" part correct, it's just corperation greed and money-thirsty capitalists cancelling a game that won't be able to get them a lot of money.

Just a very average interstellar starship here. Imgur link just in case of some Discord shenanigians:https://i.imgur.com/1HoIOOu.png

*** CANCELLED *** Paul Furio AMA on Reddit July 26th at noon PDT
Alpha_star replied to AlphaMensae's topic in KSP2 Discussion
Sure I might be over-optimistic. But I personally think of this layoff as yet another studio reform and after which KSP2 is still being developed just with a much smaller team. IG is now gone and many of the devs are the same but some would probably keep on, just because it would be a pity to abandon such an influencial franchise so soon. -

Mmmm, interesting. It sounds like KSP2 hadn't been killed entirely but instead kept being developed with a much smaller team and not everyone has been laid off. I'm wondering whether we could ask him some questions about 0.2.3's state and the state of the WIP stuff that probably got discontinued after the layoff (eg. Blackrack's new KSP2 clouds). That's also true for me, probably a reason for me not being desperately dissapointed after the initial EA. For a game like KSP2 that has a lot of initial promises one should learn not to set their expectations too high. Still it has improved a lot over the last year and is now just as fun as KSP1 for me. -
Well there's the constructive type of critism that's just discussing about the negatives. And there's also a destructive/toxic type in which it's just pure bashing and hating. Critism is not bad when it isn't destructive, but if it does then it would infect the others (as least that's what I see on Reddit for 'I used to play KSP2 but from others I now realize it's garbage' and stuff like it).

Really? I might disagree. Just take a look at the subreddit, especially before September last year. Everyday there would at least be one player count post showing how few people are playing the game where as the clue comes from a sole Steamdb capture. Then there are multiple people endlessly personally attacking the developers and some random discord/forum users for "not realizing how doomed KSP2 is". They have the right to dislike the game but their hates have gone too far to be considered as disliking, and some if not a lot of them never ever played KSP2. Sure they are not the only "bad people" out there but they sure did a lot in rising the community's hate and aggressiveness toward KSP2.
-
Of course KSP2 made a huge impact and in some ways split the community and etc. At first this was indeed the game’s fault of being released when it isn’t supposed to but after a few months people start to focus less on the game itself and shifted the debate towards things like developers, game studios and PD and T2. From then on few actually paid attention to the game’s actual state. It’s like “facts and actual players’ reviews aside KSP2 is really bad and the devs should be hated and the game should go away” and something like that. What people consider as the impact that KSP2 made might actually be a cause of certain haters’ hatred or some other community shenanigans rather than a direct result of the game’s development.

Did you Upgrade or Buy to be able to play KSP2?
Alpha_star replied to ColdJ's topic in KSP2 Discussion
I'm happy to say that my NUC8 runs KSP2 perfectly fine at 15 or so FPS at max. graphics settings when launching the stock Aeris. This is the stat for it running 0.1.3.2 which is a highly unpotimized version compared to post 0.2 versions. P.S. I don't care about people saying how aqnything below 60 is unplayable, 15 is very fine for me. -
I would at least expect 0.2.2 to come since another month would definitely be enough for IG to finish on some bugfixes. 0.2.3? I don't know, probably would come out but likely won't be much. As for colonies, I have no clue, but I suppose they would release a bare-bones version of it and then fix the bugs at a slow rate (by slow I mean 2x slower than previously). The game will live on, we know that, but in which way we don't know.

It's just very like the good ol' days of summer last year, when everything related to the game is bad news, even the good ones are said to be fake or "corporatiative speak", and small ones get exaggurated to infinity (e.g. Nerdy_Mike gets laid off but will stay until late June, the first gets mentioned a lot while the second part gets ignored).

I appreciate your faith and an apparently non-aggressive attitude towards the game. It’s pretty rare these days.
