  1. Why didn't you do the test flight during the day? Makes it easier to see mountains coming.
  2. There's this really weird thing where a couple of people are having trouble accessing this subforum, but only a couple of people, only this sub, and only sometimes. It's really baffling and unfortunately the IT guys haven't found a fix yet.
  3. I believe 18Watt has the right answer though I haven't built anything this large in KSP2 yet.
  4. Take just one element out of symmetry, you mean? Is that included in KSP2 yet?
  5. It needs a rework or at least some in-game instruction because I struggle with it. The other day, for example, I discovered that I had somehow over-written every ship in my VAB with the design I was currently working on, even though the previous saves retained their original names. I'm pretty sure it was user error, but I have no idea how I managed it. While I'm here, why does it always ask me if I want to over-write something even when I'm saving the current craft for the first time? If I haven't saved it before, what I am over-writing?
  6. Please restrict the discussion to game matters. Real world economics and politics are off-topic and divisive.
  7. From what you're describing I think you're doing as well as any beginner and just need practice.
  8. Since RCS requires less thrust they can get away with arrangements which are less complex and less massive, so they often just release compressed gas or spray a substance onto a catalyst. It's one fuel instead of 2 and there's less waste heat to deal with.
  9. Because they were started months apart and we didn't notice the overlap. Merged now.
  10. This general sub is fine for now. We're all getting used to new stuff and asking questions.
  11. Challenge creators sometimes make badges but don't actually control them or give them out. If you complete the challenge you can copy the image into your signature.
  12. Your presence and enthusiasm are welcome.
  13. I wish I had the patience to make things like this work.
  14. The mission area shouldn't require pinpoint precision but I confess I've always found these difficult to accomplish due to getting the altitude just right. Are you sure it's the location that's the problem?
  15. Congratulations to the winners, and thank you @Dman979 for running the contest for us.
  16. Welcome to the forum. I don't recall having that problem but I have moved your thread to the questions sub where I hope someone else knows a solution. Good luck.
  17. I don't recall seeing that problem. Can you share a pic of your staging display?
  18. A common mistake is to have one of the docking rings placed backwards. Can you perhaps share pictures of your docking attempts?
  19. It's been a long time since I've run that one, too, but if you launch at an angle instead of straight up, your descent will be more gentle and it will give the atmo more time to slow you, possibly sparing the chute.
