  1. In KSP career mode, you have to get into space/orbit before you can buy basic plane parts. That's not a good progression in career mode. There's not nearly enough contracts for planes, as well. I wanna get a manned break the sound barrier, altitude contracts, high altitude science contract, and a pass the Karbal line contract.
  2. The best way to find out is to install it and see. Everyone has a different mix of mods, and no one can tell you if there's some odd interaction in your mix that no one has run into yet. Of course, make a second copy of your install and try it there, first.
  3. Final Frontier is an absolute must. It might add nothing to gameplay, but does wonders for immersion.
  4. The wider the rangefinder, the more accurate the range. The higher the rangefinder, the farther the range. Conveniently, it is easier to mount a large (wide) rangefinder high up on a battleship than it is on a tank.
  5. As any sword deserving of the name would have a much higher mass, no. To answer the other part of your question: No idea, I don't feel like doing math today.
  6. No, you don't have to pay for it. You only need to pay if you want to play it.
  7. As long as you don't violate the laws of physics, you can do anything with infinite resources. Whether it's practical, easy, or worth doing is a a completely different question.
  8. But if the fuel and oxidizer are combined, and only need heat to combust, how is it any different from a solid fuel? How do you turn it off?
  9. To be fair, you couldn't be bothered to take the entire flight and got off halfway. As for the paying customers deserving wings, I don't really give a damn about the professionals, either. They're all a pain in the ass. Let them decorate their shirts with whatever they want.
  10. Is X better than Y? Imagine if you will, an X that is better than Y? Would it be better than Y? "One crazy idea I had was what if it was possible (is it?) to make a propellant gel that ALREADY has the oxidizer 'baked' into it, and only needs some heat applied to combust it? " So, a solid fuel rocket? How does this avoid the issues with solid rockets that already exist?
  11. I had one of these show up on my doorstep last Friday. In a rather large box.
  12. I name my ships after my neighbor's dogs. However, I don't actually know their names, so I just call them "Untitled Space Craft 1" and "Untitled Space Craft 2". They don't seem to mind, though.
  13. It's hard to play the game when you don't explain the rules. You said "here's a photon portal", with no explanation of what that even means. If you have some magic item with no definable characteristics, it's impossible to say how it behaves. Photon: a particle representing a quantum of light or other electromagnetic radiation. Portal: a doorway, gate, or other entrance Therefore, a Photon Portal is a doorway, gate, or other entrance for a quantum of light So, the aliens give us a "window"?
  14. Since we're just making stuff up, then, my answer would be "No, we can't do it, because the Vogons are on their way with a constructor fleet."
  15. I dunno. What the hell's a "photon portal"?
  16. A couple coworkers were talking about it.
  17. The DC-3/C-47 is an awesome airplane. Just wish people would stop painting invasion stripes on them all the damn time.
  18. Say "Oh, my God, what is that thing?" then scream and cut my mic.
  19. But why? Let's just make stuff up and use that, instead!
