I use sketchup for just about everything. I use the 2017 version, as it seems to be the last offline version. The plugins are pretty good too. It's a very rare day that I can't do something in SU that a plugin won't do. I'm slowly learning F360 too, but SU will probably be my goto. If I need something parametric (a variety of sizes), I'll hack my way through openSCAD, but I'm not very good at it. The beauty of Sketchup is the push/pull mechanism it's based on. I start with a shape or a block, and then I just mold it to the shape I need. I've been able to make some very technical and complicated items with it.

Mars Rover Perseverance Discussion Thread
Gargamel replied to cubinator's topic in Science & Spaceflight
What's live? The video has been removed. -
You might be right. A lot of people play with reduced rewards. Its fairly common to max out the tech tree even before reaching the Mun. Playing with reduced rewards makes the game a bit more challenging, and gives you a real reason to go to other places.

There is. There's a mod called Kopernicus that allows you to do that. Best place to get more info is in that thread. I believe this might be the thread in question:

This is a newer car. 2013. Rest of the car is in top shape. I was very surprised at the condition of the housing. Other housing on other side of the license plate is still mint. -

Sell the excess coffee to go towards a Cray? See if UzoWeld (?) still works for you. Might be able to reduce that part count by 30% or so. -
Dude the devs gotta have some good music!
Gargamel replied to Dr. Kerbal's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
Here it is! I merged these for you. And I do hope they put a bit of effort into the music. Why not just mute the music and use a background music app? -
Surface skimming Kerbol encounter. Insane dV to get there, and you’ll probably melt before you do.

Multiple threads have been merged. Please don’t cross post multiple threads, that only leads to fractured discussions and confusion. As to how to install mods check this stickied thread: As for what mods are good, depends on what you want to do. There are very good mods that won’t ever touch because I don’t want to play the game that way. Thread moved to add on discussion.

totm aug 2023 What funny/interesting thing happened in your life today?
Gargamel replied to Ultimate Steve's topic in The Lounge
Last night I'm eating lunch during break, it's about 3am. I'm up at the gas station, it's the only place open then, but they have good food. Reading the news, listing to music, just sitting in my car. See this guy walk out of the store, putting stuff back into his wallet. Walks in front of my car, puts his wallet away, pulls out his phone. Walks around to the passenger side of my car, fiddles with his phone. I know what's happening, I'm starting to laugh already. He opens the passenger door, starts to get in. Sees that there's stuff on the seat. Looks inside, audibly squeaks, His eyes are huge O.O. "Oh my god! I'm Sorry! Wrong Car!". Closes the door, looks around. There's his buddy in his similar, yet still very different car on the other side of the parking lot, making the international "What the heck are you doing!?" sign with his arms. I'm laughing as they drive by, the passenger avoiding looking at me. -
Is there a Kerbal Konstructs for version 1.11.0
Gargamel replied to stta's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Moved to Add-on Discussion, you'll get better answers there. Have you tried the Mod thread itself? -
Can someone link me to the outer planets mod?
Gargamel replied to king of nowhere's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Use google, but add the term " site: "forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com" " to the end of your google search. That will use power of google, but restrict it to the forums. A lot forums years ago used to have that as their default built in search tool, I don't know why that isn't common any more. Another great way to search for mod threads is to use CKAN. Even if you don't use CKAN to install the mods, it's a great resource as they have catergorized and indexed the vast majority of mods out there, with direct links to mod threads here on the forums. And with that, this question has been moved to the Add-on Discussion sub. -
Maybe this pic will help describe the story a little better for you. https://apnews.com/article/results-2-experiments-defy-physics-rulebook-ac6949b41669b02cecf1143c8d09edb2 Possibly:
-
Console updates are often 12-18 months behind the PC release, as they are done by an outside studio.
-
The forums don't seem to support MP4 direct linking. Upload the video to Youtube then link that. Gif's work fine, just treat them like any pic.

Maybe.... probably I’m looking for to seeing this play out (Pasting a link directly won’t work for some reason, sorry)
-
Yup, unless its actual news, it’s best to search the forums before starting a new topic, we’ve probably been taking about it for a while now. We even have a couple index threads stickied at the top that makes finding a topic much easier. And since there’s nothing in this thread about SLS, there’s no reason to merge it.

Did you hear something?
-
This is usually the problem, it's browser based, not the website. If your browser is set to handle mailto: links through a specific application, outlook in this case, then it will force that application to open. Your browser should have an option to change the default behavior of mailto: links. EDIT: And moved to the Kerbal Network, as this isn't about KSP specifically.
