Had Pre-ordered "Ready Player Two" from Cline. Obvious sequel to "Ready Player One" of book and movie fame (I do love the fact it was easier to get Spielberg to direct the film rather than try to license all the properties he owns). Well. It was ok. Don't waste money on it. Get it from the library, digital or otherwise. Just a rehash of the original plot, nothing really original in it. After finishing it in about a week, mainly due to drifting asleep while reading it, I re-opened "RPO", and was done in about 36 hours. That is a fun read, and a great tale. I had also enjoyed Cline's other big work, "Armada". It's been a bit, might have to pick it up again. I think if you are a fan of either of them, you'll like the series.

@Ikkjotto avoid cluttering the forums, I've merged your topics. Under your profile, you can click "edit profile". Most of your questions can be answered by reading the links I have already provided.
-
Having looked around and thought about what you said, I think you are referring to the https:// in the address bar of your browser? If so, all pages that I have visited on the forums are listed as secure, along with everybody else I have talked to. Note, Moderators are not accessing the forums from special server, we're just normal users like yourself, so we're not getting any special access. This sounds like there is something wrong on your end with your browser or ISP.

And I don't think you noticed the link I provided which includes a link that goes to a thread called "How to use The forums", which describes exactly how to post pics on the forums. But simply, you just paste the URL from the image link into the post itself. So, please, post a pic of what you're seeing. We've never heard of this being reported before.
-
Could you post a picture of what you're seeing? We're not quite sure what you're talking about. Most of your questions will be answered by this thread and the links it contains:

There might be a way, but I don't think so, not like you can see who has "liked" a post. Thread ratings aren't really a thing on these forums anyways.

KSP Version, does not exist
Gargamel replied to canuck_bc's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
2152 is the build number, not a version number. The version numbers follow the 1.x.y systen of numbering. I don't know if the build numbers are specific to the version number (ie there could be multiple builds of 2152, each for a different version number, or if they're just consecutive numbers), but there is no real reason to be looking for a build number of KSP, only the version number. Where did you acquire the installer from? -
The Sandlot One of the greatest movies ever made. At least in my top 25.

Metal monolith found by helicopter crew in Utah desert
Gargamel replied to DDE's topic in The Lounge
Even though it was triangular, I guess that could still apply. -
That's the rub here. There was no other radar telescope that came close to it's power. Even the bigger one in China, FAST, is far less powerful when it comes to radar astronomy. While there are better radio telescopes out there, nothing else really came close in radar astronomy.

KSP Forums Moderation Team Presents: THREADS OF THE MONTH December 2020 It's that time again, our threads of the month. In our penultimate award for the year, with the Thread of the Year for 2020 yet to be awarded, we'll take a look at some of our best from the past month. We'll start this month off with a mod. @ensou04 has created this mod to allow other modders to add better engine sounds to their own mods: Next, we have @seyMonsters submission thread for easy to fly, and land airplanes. Some really great designs in there guys! We have the Elkano by plane, the Elkano by boat, and even an Elkano by land (with some boats required ), but now @Hotel26 brings us the circumnavigation of Kerbin by helicopter! Kerbals are known for their ingenuity, but not often for their adherence to safety regulations. In this wonderful little creation, @Makc_Gordonattempts to bring both of these things together: And to wrap things up, it might be a mainly American holiday, but we can all be thankful for something, especially during this extremely trying year we've had, and @AlamoVampireasks us just what that is: Congratulations to all our winners of the Threads of the Month for December 2020. Place the badge found at the top of this post on your thread or in your signature, and display it with pride! Many thanks to @Stone Blueand @The Doodling Astronaut for nominating threads this month. If you find a thread you think is worthy of being honored in upcoming TOTM's, and it hasn't been showcased before, use the report button found on the tab on each post and let us know! As always, our beautiful badges are done by @adsii1970. Congratulations to all the winners again!

will my laptop run KSP?
Gargamel replied to stalagmike's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
It’s better than my old potato that ran a heavily modded game. It should handle the stock game fine, and probably have room for some mods. -
Same here.

Bugs That Make KSP Unplayable
Gargamel replied to Dr. Kerbal's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
We already have a site for reporting such bugs: https://bugs.kerbalspaceprogram.com/ Please use that location instead of random threads on the forums. Please also search those lists to see if your bug has already been reported. If it has, you can upvote it. Duplicating bug reports only increases the workload on the devs, and slows down the work they can do on the bugs. If you have issues that you think might be fixable in the short term, please use the Tech Support Forums and post a question. When you do, please make sure you have read the appropriate sticky relevant to the type of install involved: We do not need a mega thread full of random bug reports in a cluttered mess. That helps nobody. This thread has been moved to the Suggestions forums. -
I got some bad news for ya......

Mobile Version of KSP
Gargamel replied to kris10127's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
It's not the vessel count that taxes the CPU, it's the part count of the current vessel. I don't think it would be enjoyable with a part limit of 20-30 parts. Again, anything outside of physics range is not what strains the CPU. We've had that before, pre 1.0 soup-o-sphere. It was horrible. That would screw up all the transfer windows, transfer orbits, etc. Basically with all those suggestions, you're almost left with this. -
As LGG updated the thread a month after the release date of 1.10.1, in which he specifically released an update, there has only been one report of a crash and no others, I'd say this does work with 1.10.1. Are you sure you installed it correctly? By which method? Do you have any other mods installed? If you do, it might not be this mod's fault it's not working. Unistall everything else and see if it works fine on it's own. If you have done that, you'll have to provide log files for LGG to take a look and see if there's something to fix.

Mobile Version of KSP
Gargamel replied to kris10127's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
This oft asked question has been merged into the megathread. But just to add my two cents, if I haven't already previously, hardware considerations aside, KSP would just be stupid hard to play on a touch screen. I have enough trouble always picking the right entry from my contacts list, let alone trying to place a booster stack in just the right location with 6x symmetry. Without KBM support, it would be pointless to play on a mobile device. And if they did support the keyboard and mouse, then why do I want to play it on such a dinky little screen? -
"Reverting" KSP to an older version (Steam)
Gargamel replied to AeroSky's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
For as long as I can remember. There are only certain versions available on Steam though. Usually just the most stable version of each release. You can get 1.3.1, but not 1.3.0 for example (I believe). -
Problems loading with mechjeb
Gargamel replied to Knut34's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Yes it is. Make sure you have installed the mod correctly: If you have, your best solution then would be to post your question in the MJ thread and follow Sarbian's instructions for getting support. -
Can i change my name on the forums?
Gargamel replied to The_Stinky_Broccoli's topic in Kerbal Network
Even though this has been handled, moving this to the Kerbal Network. -
I do not believe so Just picked up the four pack. I will report back. A few Moments later: Eh..... Some.... I played some solitare for a moment, but if you want it to play a specific game repeatedly, you're better off getting a specific app to do so. The beauty is in the flexibility and customization of app. The Workshop seems to be crammed full of official and unofficial games that you can play.

It's the number of times a thread has been moved to the Kerbal Network.
