Considering I’ve only played KSP in Ohio, this makes no sense. moved to forum games. -

For Questions That Don't Merit Their Own Thread
Gargamel replied to Skyler4856's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Well, yes. As mentioned above, like modern radar systems that use ambient radio noise to pick up aircraft, a passive stationary sonar array would be able, with the right algorithms, be able to “map” the ocean around them if there were loud noise sources available. The theory is pretty trivial, but the practical applications are trickier, along with the ecological and environmental impacts of sonar equivalent of a lighthouse. -

Had to convert those numbers in my head…. 2 tenths over 16” is dang good. Congrats! -
Schrödinger’s funeral must have been a very stressful event to attend.

Why even have a defending sub on station at all? Why not have a series of both emitters and microphones, SOSUS style, along a ‘choke point ‘ in the area you want to patrol, tied to a shore station. When the shore Station detects an intruder, it can dispatch a fleet of ASW aircraft and small boats to handle the issue, all of which combined would be far cheaper than a single sub. Keep those assets for force projection rather than defense. -
KSP 2 Multiplayer Discussion Thread
Gargamel replied to Johnster_Space_Program's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
I absolutely am. I have had at least one collision and a number of near misses during launch to LKO. Now add hundreds of other users launching into the same orbit, and again, it’s a game I don’t want to play. The idea of having an option to turn griefing off is cute. Players will figure out a way to get around it.- 1,629 replies

Yeah - I kept thinking about how I doubted KSP2 would be anything like @Vl3dwas writing about... Now I really have to read the article Considering the predictions ranged all over the place, I’m not sure what exactly was confirmed. Taking the Nostradamus approach seems to work I guess. Predict everything and eventually you’re right. But if it is as they repeatedly predicted an MMO with an economy and space battles, I don’t think I’ll be getting into it.
-
So they’ve confirmed multiplayer to be an MMO with an economy and battles? Blech. Not the game I want.

Keep going and find out. But seriously, we have a rule against harassing staff. So if a member would intentionally be harassing or annoying a mod, then we’d handle it in our usual fashion. If it gets really bad, we’ll usually involve the CMs, but if we get to that point, that person’s time here is limited.

Fossile Fuel Endgame... If We Run Out Is It Really So Bad?
Gargamel replied to Spacescifi's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Younger, faster growing trees sequester more CO2 than mature ones. It’s why a well managed logging program for an area is actually a benefit to the environment. -

The streamed broadcast was so bad (I was watching NASAspaceFlight, I assume they were just piggybacking the official stream), that I went to bed before MECO. Really disappointed. -

The NASASpaceFlight guys are trying to stay quiet while control is talking, but they're failing miserably as they giggle into their microphones with excitement. -

Can anyone imagine an IT professional under higher pressure right now than the guy being driving by a security officer at high speed out to the radar site, with a new switch tucked under their arm? Keep an eye out for Kerbal landers, they've been known to use KSP in presentations before. -

Am i hearing chatter of another Hydrogen leak? I missed the lead on the subject as I jump in and out of the NASAspaceflight stream.
