Loading KSP from computer files
Superfluous J replied to GameData's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Ah. No you can't do that though it would be nice. There used to be a mod that allowed this (Quick Start, maybe?) but it just always started that save when you started the game. EDIT: I looked it up and not only is it still active, I was credited for the idea. Which is crazy because I remember using it but not asking for it -
Loading KSP from computer files
Superfluous J replied to GameData's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
We may need more information. When you say a "Save on 1.3.1" do you mean an entire install of KSP for version 1.3.1? Or a save game that you or someone else made while playing 1.3.1? If the former, just put it in its own directory (you should have several subdirectories and if you're missing anything critical it won't work) and run ksp_x64.exe from within there. If the latter, then you may need a 1.3.1 install on which to run it. In that install, or your current install if you want to see if it'll work on the current version (it probably will) place it in your ksp folder in the saves folder, and make a new folder with the name of your save. So it'll be \<whatever your ksp folder is>\saves\1.3.1_save\persistent.sfs Finally, make a "ships" folder and within that folder make a VAB and a SPH folder, so you can build ships in the two buildings -
While true, the potential to do damage to nonhuman things with other nonhuman things isn't an argument against doing peaceful thing in space with humans of multiple countries.
-
The ISS gives multiple 1st World countries things to do in space that don't involve killing each other.
-
If you base Human progress on how it will affect the lives of Bud-lite swilling hicks who yell at their teevees to get the wide receiver to run faster... ...yeah just don't base it off of that.

I thought "pfft lets see how old this video is for reals" and then I was like, "okay. You win." That video came out 2 days after my first YouTube video. Not my first KSP video. The first thing I ever uploaded to YouTube, ever. My first KSP video was almost a year later.

What personality do you give your Kerbals?
Superfluous J replied to DJWyre's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I blame them for any mistakes I make. -
...and the first form! Congrats to the winners and I'd just like to say IndicatorLights is one of those all-time favorites of mine. once you get used to them you can't live without.

Actually the idea was that the obvious answer was 2, 4, 8, or maybe 16. He was so uber-intelligent he could see that I was writing digits and just went through all of the possible ways to write Pi in each base, and then realized it matched the number of fingers I had. The knowing English was more because the joke needed to be told in a few sentences and couldn't include a semester at ESL class.

Bad science in fiction Hall of Shame
Superfluous J replied to peadar1987's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Unless that craft was designed to do it, or leave the galaxy, then yes I think it's bad science. You may has well have a car jumping the pacific ocean. -
I thought this up and it was too big for Twitter and I couldn't edit it down, nor could I think of a better place for it. So, I foist it upon you all. ------------- I didn't know how to communicate with that strange being from beyond the stars that landed in my backyard that night. The only thing I could think was the universal language: Mathematics. I drew a circle. Then a line bisecting that circle, then wrote "3.14159" over it to signify the number Pi. The creature was at first confused, but then suddenly it understood. "Aw." It said in English. "That's so cute. You use base 10, just like how many finger-wingers you have!" It pinched my cheek, looked genuinely adored at me with a hint of a sardonic tear forming in its eyes, re-entered its craft, and lifted off to the heavens. I've never seen it since.

Bad science in fiction Hall of Shame

Oh man I have to see this. If only they got the information from the Titanic and they had to blow up the Easter Island heads with exact precision using nuclear bombs. -
Hm in my circles the assumption is you have the base game and any free expansions, and anything paid you should state you have it. "I play Cities: Skylines" means you spent $20 on a game, not $190.

You forgot 2: 3. You don't have Making History. 4. You think the Wolfhound is tantamount to cheating. For me, though, 2, 3, and 4 don't apply. 1 is enough.

So Long, Farewell, I Hate To Say Goodbye.
Superfluous J replied to Kerbinchaser's topic in Kerbal Network
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, enjoy your time no matter what you do, take care of your life because RL comes first, and I'll see you around, I'm sure. You can remove yourself from KSP, but you can't remove KSP from yourself. Or something like that But seriously I hope nothing bad is going on and you're just being proactive which is great, but on the off chance something bad is happening I'm going to send you all the good vibes I can muster. -
I thought all ksp players had infinite tolerance for lag. I won't settle for less than 30, except in ksp where 1 is doable in a pinch.

[WIP] Restock: KSP Part Art Revamp (Released March 06)
Superfluous J replied to Nertea's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Aren't they optional? I mean, there are plenty of parts in the stock game that have no variants. And I quite like them. -
[1.12.x] ResearchBodies V1.13.0 (15th May 2022)
Superfluous J replied to JPLRepo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I've never used this mod before, and have been out of the modding loops for quite some time. I started a new career on 1.5.1 with this and Contract Configurator (And Galileo's planet pack) and everything seems to be going fine. And no, I'm not using any forks or anything, I just downloaded from the links in the first posts. I was actually coming here to thank you for the mod and say how much fun I've been having with it, and now it appears that it shouldn't work at all? I've got the observatory and have not (yet) discovered any new worlds, but am "scanning the skies" and up until this moment fully expected to find something after the 1 year timer ended. -
