Display/Science window!
AlamoVampire replied to Arugela's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
while this sounds simple in theory, i have a feeling the amount of code needed to implement this is not. Add to that the time to adjust ui, any bugs that will come up plus any other issues. -
2.5m space station hub part
AlamoVampire replied to omelaw's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
This would be neat! Would reduce part counts some too if im right. OO my 1200th post! Neat! -
Novapunch, mechjeb, proc fairings, and so long as i dont have to monkey with module mgr kis/kas. Possibly chatterer too with the above restrictions ofc lol
-
@Tfin thank you for finding that. im actually stoked about the uptick to x64 for win. means i can finally expand beyond mechjeb, proc fairings and novapunch. yes, i am mechjeb proud and have been since .21!
-
Citation please. Last i heard squad was uncertain winx64 would make 1.1, so, being "that guy" proof required.

Another random mission from a random player: set up the following at Eeloo, a 4 satellite system in polar orbit as well as an orbital station for 6 to 8 kerbals and a mining and fueling station on the surface with a ferry system to get the processed goods to orbit. Best of luck

@Nathaniel411 Its under edit profile

@Aperture Science The best path is for squad to just make it stock then this will end. Until then this will be like the phases of the moon. A part of our life. Mechjeb proud since .21!
-
This type of thread is EXACTLY the reason squad MUST, NEED to make mechjeb stock. Once they do this bs of validation seeking will stop. Mechjeb proud since .21!
-
even tho ive seen these before, they are still awesome videos!
-
@Tweeker If i had to hazard a guess? Ppl love to complain. But i agree with you that its a change we dont need. I dont think it will be changed anyway, which is ok by me tbh

@Kerbal101 Allow me to be absolutely blunt here. This is not an addiction of any kind as you so blithely put it. This is a matter of treating my space program as if it was working along side the likes of NASA, JAXA, ESA or ROSCOSMOS. With only a SINGLE exception in ALL of space flight manned or otherwise everything we the human species has put into orbit and beyond has been computer controlled. The single exception? Neil Armstrong, Apollo 11 AFTER a 1201 & 1202 alarm nearly had the computer set them down in a boulder field. Neil Armstrong took manual control after it was clear that he had no option left. I find that having mechjeb not only allows me the luxury of telemetry but affords me the capability AND privilege to let the computer fly my vessels during times when tedium would outright kill ksp for me, but ALSO have the honor of feeling as if I am flying alongside Neil Armstrong, Edwin E. "Buzz" Aldrin Jr and every other hero to fly to space. It is a matter of being more true to real space programs for me and honoring every single sacrifice made in the name of furthering scientific understanding. I could go on, but, I feel that my point is sufficiently made. I do wish you well and many happy journeys.

@Kerbal101 Hey if you enjoy the tedium of babysitting long long burns, flying the SAME launch, the SAME rendezvous, the SAME docking time and time and time again good for you. I DONT. Real world space agencies use automation, scott manley uses mechjeb and so shall i. Do not assume things i did not say. I never said the game should play it self or the vab to build itself. What i did say is covered above. @Warzouz I still say mj needs to be stock, but to each their own.
-
The more i think about it the LESS i agree with the idea of removing them. I think what we have now is fine. Changing it could or would have a high chance of breaking ships, stations, subassemblies and anything else not mentioned. It could also mess with the games code in ways no one wants to imagine.

Do you consider editing craft files cheating?
AlamoVampire replied to Jett_Quasar's topic in KSP1 Discussion
A frying pan? For sausage? No. You take an srb, bolt it to a test stand, then hit the ignighter with the sausage in place. THAT'S how you make sausage. srsly tho, it's single player, who honestly cares about cheating? Well maybe those who are seeking validation for some action. Honestly, the only thing I consider hinkey is the use of hyper edit. Not because I think it's cheating, (it totally is in MY book) but because its kraken chum lol. Bait him at your own risk teehee! -
Do you consider editing craft files cheating?
AlamoVampire replied to Jett_Quasar's topic in KSP1 Discussion
no. What IS cheating is doing something that robs you or another player of something, anything that can provide a lesson or fun. Yes. This includes telling people a good mod, that lets face it really NEEDS to be made stock, mechjeb. It provides vital telemetry AND automation, and teaches you stuff. Robbing people of their fun or chances to learn for any reason what so ever save for trolling people in a multiplayer environment (trolling is bullying and bullying is never acceptable) is cheating and that is the line in my sand. Look, this is a single player game and there is no other player to which you are gaining illicit advantage over so, there be no cheating in ksp, save my examples above. Now lets all have fun -
I will be as plain as i will be blunt. Mechjeb is a valuable tool. I think anyone who tries to tell others that it is not and to stay away from it is both in error and is complicit in the theft of a path to education. You have your opinion, i have mine. We disagree and thus we part. I wish you well @Temstar and @tourist but we are at impass.
