Very nice! Going to post a download for it?

Carbon? Maybe? Just thought so because of the unlocking mysteries part, you know, carbon dating?

Oculus rift was sold for facebook, what is going to happen?

Charlotte's Web reference? Haha. -
Looks really nice! Keep up the great/good work!

Technology seems cool, I don't care about how it looks as long as it keeps our heroes safe!

The new patch is really neat so props to Squad for the fantastic job they've done. The only things that bug me are the yellow exhaust for the KS-25, and they way the engines are oriented on it. The latest SLS design has them spaced evenly in a square shape, the one in game has them grouped together at the ends like the old 5 RS-25 engine SLS design. I don't know why, but I'm really obsessing over this haha. The other minor thing is the size. I believe I heard Scott Manley say they're 3.75 meters, but 4.2 or 4.125 would be more appropriate; 4.2 is proportional to the Mk1-2 pod and SLS core stage, while 4.125 would be proportional with the Mk1-2 pod and the S-IVB stage from the Saturn V. But, I'm not trying to "nitpick." I love Squad and everything they do! Current design (real life)

N1 inspired Russian style Mun rocket- "N1-K"
Woopert replied to Majorjim!'s topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
I see three stages in this picture, but then again I don't know much about the N1 So, technically a stage is missing, but that's why it says N1 inspired. -
N1 inspired Russian style Mun rocket- "N1-K"

Very nice as always! I just gave rep for this on the OSCTSA thread so I can't give it again. Another thing, I believe the LK was only one stage technically, but it dropped the landing legs at liftoff from the Moon. -
Open Source Construction Techniques for Craft Aesthetics

I've known about the trick of building one, then attaching more with symmetry. It's useful with tail fins when making engine clusters. -
First Mun landing was in 0.18.2 I believe. I put it off for a while after starting and retreated to jets since I didn't know about transfer orbits haha. Might have been 0.19 but can't remember, that came out in April so it might have been 0.18.2.

[0.23.5] Realism Overhaul: ROv5.2 + Modlist for RSS 6/30/14
Woopert replied to NathanKell's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Currently it's 4 meters to fit the Mk1-2. I'll do my best to learn MM to help out, knowing that is it's easy to learn is a good thing. -
[0.90] Kerbin Shuttle Orbiter System v4.13
Woopert replied to helldiver's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Hmmm... that's exactly like Cygnus used in real life! Neat idea. I've had great fun in launching stations in one go, sort of like Skylab, but these stations are far bigger and more complex. It's quite fun, and the components are quite light so some of the less powerful Munshine rockets get the job done (they always do!). Going to try taking a space station to the Mun or Minmus. -

Would you be able to rescale sumghai's parts to 5 meters? And possibly add a file referencing the Mk1-2, adding a duplicate part scaled to 5m? If you don't have the time to do it hopefully I'll teach myself how to use Module Manager patches. -
That seems pretty cool! That was a cool story.

Woopert's RSS Replicas - SLS Blocks I and II, Saturn V
Woopert replied to Woopert's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Sorry for the late reply, the interstage is attached automatically with the shrouds. Use the H key to adjust the height distance between the ring and the attachment node. When the fairings are attached it should automatically be attached with the fairings connected to the Apollo spacecraft. (or any other spacecraft being used ) So, the engine bell is not attached to the LEM. It's floating above it thanks to Procedural Fairings. Have a nice day! -
That is a good comparison, however the Saturn V lifted off without boosters. On the SLS, NASA is using RS-25s (SSMEs) because they had them left over from the Space Shuttle program, and it would be cheaper to use those instead of developing new ones. NASA also has a very good understanding of how they work, so that's why they're using them. Well, that was sort of off topic. But the point is, instead of using ultra powerful engines like the F-1, NASA is opting to use RS-25s, which are not as powerful, each has 1859 Kn of thrust as the surface. And they're only using 4, thus allowing the boosters to aid until enough fuel drains. Anyways, my little science talk over. I like how with the KSP community we can discuss these sorts of things. I think the best option might be to color the mainsails with this new engine effect, and either blue or clear for the new engine. It's a pretty well agreed consensus that the Mainsails are the F-1 analogs, and kerosene is known for it's yellow-ish dirty looking exhaust!

I was actually doing the same math, great minds think alike. Although, if comparing the Mk1-2 pod to the Apollo command module (which was 3.9 meters wide, basically 4), 62.5% is the proper way to scale down real life to KSP. I know everyone always takes 0.64 but 0.625 is more accurate. The other thing is, unless were getting a new command pod, were going to have to scale down relative to the current 2.5 meter one (meaning 62.5% trick won't work here). So this would give a size of 4.2 meters. Equation is 2.5/x = 5/8.4; x is the value that needs to be found, and 4.2 is the answer. So 4.2 meters would properly size the SLS core stage to KSP. Coincidentally (or not), GusTurbo did some calculations earlier on another thread and found that the parts are about 4.125 meters. So it makes sense Now, onto my thoughts. I have to, once again, thank Squad for all their hard work on this. I mean, asteroids in KSP, that you can research and pull into other orbits (i.e. off rails)? That's awesome! And they're working with NASA, too. Sweet! They have the asteroids down perfect, and the new parts are almost perfect. The claw is sweet, the launch escape system is sweet... the only thing I have to nitpick on is the new engines. And they're very small things, too. These are: the engines on the most powerful one here have engines that are not aligned in a 2x2 square - they're canted outwards like the old SLS design with five engines. So, they got the 4 engines correct, but the orientation is a bit off. I know it's not a replica (as far as we know/are guessing), but it still irks me somewhat. I'd like to see it "fixed." (I say this because technically, Squad has already done a fantastic job). The other thing is, the engines on the new part, the one with 2 engines on it, look a little small. The nozzles look about the same size as the ones on the bigger engine; I'm assuming they're based on the F-1B "Pyrios" boosters, which are derived engines from the almighty F-1 from the Saturn V. So they should be a big bigger, it also might bulk up the look and make them look more powerful. But in the end, these are all minor things. Squad has done a fantastic job, I'm just pointing out the things that my attention to details notices.
