Who still listens to that?

Well, considering that you quoted a post from a year and a half ago, a lot of people were listening to it then.

or this is a joke I don’t quite understand.

I'm using AVP in conjunction with Sigma Dimensions having the following settings:

    Resize = 10.618333
    Rescale = 11
    Atmosphere = 1.714286
    dayLengthMultiplier = 4

    landscape = 1
    geeASLmultiplier = 1

    resizeScatter = 1
    resizeBuildings = 0
    groundTiling = 1

    CustomSoISize = 1
    CustomRingSize = 0

    atmoASL = 1
    tempASL = 1
    atmoTopLayer = 1
    atmoVisualEffect = 1

    lightRange = 1

    scanAltitude = 1

After launch, everything looks beautiful until I get to 160km then the shiny blue of Kerbin suddenly disappears replaced with a dark lackluster look.  When I reach 350km, everything snaps back to looking perfect again.
I've tried changing every suspect variable in AVP, Sigma Dimensions and scatterer with absolutely no change in this phenomena.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

it work well good job

but I think it's too blurry that I can't see what's on the flag
how can I remove this blur ?

This is not AVP by itself. That looks like the KS3P post-processing mod. It's a fun mod for screenshots but terrible for actually playing the game, IMHO. *shrug*

AVP by itself should give you a look like this:

qu7XXiU.jpg

(landing on Duna, terrain is from Stock Visual Terrain) Note the lake of forced-perspective and no vignetting, both of which are created by KS3P.

hey, so im tryna add this to ksp via ckan but it says the version is wrong, is it me or do you know why?

For 1.4.5 installing AVP via CKAN has worked fine for me (and looks gorgeous even with only the 4k textures!), however:

If you are using 1.5.1 since AVP requires EVE & since CKAN's currently repository has EVE linked for 'max version = 1.4.9' I got the same notice & needed to set CKAN to allow installs from 1.4.9 in 1.5.1...then selecting AVP in CKAN will now install since it can then 'force' install the older EVE 'max version 1.4.9' via CKAN...see these screenshots:

yes, looks exactly like KS3P in my environment, I removed it for the same reason so far...but looking at the KS3P forum posts again  it appears the Config.cfg can be adjusted...so I will try it again...here are some useful quotes from over there:

The mod folder contains a 'Config.cfg' with all settings for each visual effect, also the lens dirt. To turn it off, look for these lines:

//Lens dirt settings
Dirt_Enabled = true
Dirt_Tex = KS3P/Textures/LensDirt02
Dirt_Intensity = 2

And delete them or type '//' in front of it (like in the first line).

Since each scene (flight, editor, etc..) got its own settings, you will find multiple entries and you have to delete all of them.

I'm making a collection of various configs for this.  So far I've gotten configs from the thread, from the following:

@4x4cheesecake, @Beetlecat, @Leandro Basi, @Rocket In My Pocket and @Jim Meillente.

I'm going to make these available, if you have one to contribute, please send it to me with a brief description of it's features.

  • 2 weeks later...

Not sure what's going on with Kerbin.  Everything works, but performance dives by a goodish amount whenever Kerebin is in the view.  This is a stock AVP install (EVE, Scatterer, 2k textures).  What would be the most likely culprit and can it be tuned down to give better framerate?

Scatterer usually gives me the biggest performance hit...I suggest that you try testing without scatterer and see if it is better...also see if the debug console (windows: alt-F12) shows a lot of red lines when Kerbin is in view...

@themaster401  Thanks for bringing this back!  Liked it in 1.0.4...love it in 1.4.5!  Even footprints for the kids!

So for me AVP does not really work with version 1.5.1

And what exactly isn`t working? It works very well in 1.5.1. The trick is: install it correctly and it will work.

Are there more sunflares to choose from or just one? If there are more than one, how can I switch flares?

Thank You for this awesome mod!

Sunflares has nothing to do with AVP. It`s scatterer. So you can download other sunflares and install them.

You're right, I installed it again, then it worked. had not put "ad vision to list" on 1.4.9 but 1.5, and then something must not have worked when installing. it does not matter now

There are a few issues I have been having after 1.6.

Kopernicus stops my solar panels from functioning. I'm sure your power is limited there but it is probably useful regardless.

The terrain textures have not been working. The terrain still looks stock, even after KSPRC. I assume that is a version issue but I am not entirely sure. Since you need Kopernicus for the terrain, this is causing issues.

I never ever update my KSP until kopernicus is updated. I feel like all other mods are secondary, since a lot of them depend on it and /or dont break the game in any significant way.

Until then i just play a stock second install if i want to play with the new features.
