Consider KSP Recall as a prerequisit so that TweakScale could work on KSP >= 1.9 because the game has changed the way ressources are managed.

Shame it isn't for Near Future Exploration - I'm trying to build a Sentinel satellite, and it is being a real pain to get pretty when all my favorite probe cores are too small! :P

It's on the back log. Work on it are, unfortunately, in a very slow pace nowadays.

KSP Recall is an Add'On that undoes something intended by Squad to fix a problem on some add'ons that manages Resources, but ended up backfiring terribly on some others - as TweakScale.

Since it's something that affects only KSP 1.9, only users of KSP 1.9.x should install KSP Recall in order to have TweakScale usable on it.

I don't know whether TS is able to handle the drain mechanism with an existing behaviour so I did nothing at the moment with the Drain Valve.

I'm unsure the drain valve should be scaled without some beta testing before going mainstream. It's a new module, after all. Please be prudent as unintended collateral effects may hinder the game - I'm trying to solve one of these on the wheels, by the way - they scaled up with stupids buoyancies.

T5m is gone, but after installing some more mods I have trouble again... Is there a way to stop TweakScale from accessing a single mod so it just gets ignored?

Here are my current logs, could someone help me fix this?

The new Add'On is LShipPartsModern, right? The patching for one of the affected parts are:

[LOG 22:47:42.995] Applying update BDArmory/MMPatches/000000_HitpointModule/@PART[*] to LShipPartsModern/Parts/CarrierHangarHull/CarrierLifts.cfg/PART[CarrierLiftShort]

[LOG 22:47:47.643] Applying update kOS/kOS-module-manager/@PART[*]:FOR[kOS] to LShipPartsModern/Parts/CarrierHangarHull/CarrierLifts.cfg/PART[CarrierLiftShort]

And apparently LShipPartsRequired the one borking here.

But there're more parts borking here, see:

[LOG 22:47:43.034] Applying update BDArmory/MMPatches/000000_HitpointModule/@PART[*] to Squad/Parts/Aero/wings/elevon4.cfg/PART[smallCtrlSrf]

[LOG 22:47:47.672] Applying update kOS/kOS-module-manager/@PART[*]:FOR[kOS] to Squad/Parts/Aero/wings/elevon4.cfg/PART[smallCtrlSrf]

And again, LShipPartsRequired is the one stomping TweakScale's toes. :P But the excellent news about this add'on is that I can fix it for you, the license allows! :)

Stay tuned, I'm working on something specifically for LShipParts. (I LOVE SMCE's Add'Ons, and it's a pleasure to help on something for them!).

TwakScale Companion for SMCE 0.0.1.0 is available for downloading. This is a beta release, proceed with caution.

Download on github.

@HB Stratos, this is for you. :)

Hi Master Lisias :D

Is it possible that you make the structure of a TweakScale companion for

  • Near Future SpaceCraft
  • Near Future Props
  • Near Future Electrical & Core
  • Near Future Construction

Should Xenon Hall be included in Near Future Props ?

So that I could fork them and make the appropriate cfg files ?

Sure thing. Need a bit of time, I think I must give your proposed P/R some attention first. :)

Don't have a clue, I don't know this yet. I will research a bit and come back to it later.

I've got an issue with the tweakscale for KSP 1.9.1. Only mod is tweakscale and required KSP-recall.

Whenever a part that has it's scale changed clipps within another part, such as a fuel tank partially in another fuel tank, the part will change position and placed levated in the editor when you go back to hanger or load the ship from a save file.

Yeah, I got this too but I don't think it's TweakScale related, at least directly. It happens when you revert  the flight back to the Editor.

The workaround I have is to click "New" and reload the craft. You need to click New, just reloading the craft is not enough.

I talked about it on KSP Recall thread:

Yes, I found some potential troublemaking patches on LBPP (on its Companion, I had to overwrite one of its Config files due it - no other feasible option is possible, that patches stomped even stock part's toes).

You can install LBPP back if you install TweakScale Companion for SMCE . It overwrites the trouble maker patches, undoes any other TweakScale related patch from it, and install my own patches to it (that, at least I intended, redo the thing the proper way - could you test it for me? I may had borked on some part, as my time for testing this is currently hindered by some RL problems).

If even by installing the Companion you are "Houstened", please send me KSP.log, the Module Manager logs and also the ModuleManager.ConfigCache so I can hunt and fix the problem.

The right name is "999_KSP-Recall". I will check the Add'On documentation to see if I had borked on it - so don't worry, it is correctly installed.

About some parts not being scaled, it's almost surely the new revamped ones - revamped parts has a new internal name to avoid conflicts with the previous parts, and so TweakScale "miss" them. @DarkNounours is applying a PR to a new .12 version, and I will have it published in the Weekend at worst - wait just a bit more. :)

That "Enable" on Recall is there so you can disable it when a part is being handled by a Fuel Switch that don't like Recall. Some Fuel Switches handle Resources their own way, and theoretically Recall can undo their changes the same way KSP was undoing TweakScale's ones - so if you detect this problem, disabling Recall will allow you to use that part without problems. On the long run, Recall will learn about Add'Ons that does that and will disable itself automatically (Interstellar Fuel Switch, for example, handles Resources their own way so you don't need Recall when using IFS).

Hi!

Yes. However, it's a long time since the last time I had the time to play with KIS (and KAS), so I don't know how they are behaving on KSP 1.8 and beyound (assuming they run on them at all). The patches can be outdated too, so please report anything you think is not working.

Hello, sorry to bother, but I have an issue, it's seems to be a bit like ShiningNeedle (above), howewer it's a bit different. So here's the problem, when I'm crafting something, I tweak the size of a part ( most of times it's the structural pannels) I place them everything is okay, but if I do any Control+Z (even on something that wasn't tweaked) It will move all the "Tweaked" parts elsewhere..

I'm using  1.9.1 Ksp, with the last tweakscale version as well as KSP Recall.

Thank you for your work.

Ps: I want to precise that for me , click on "new" then load my craft doesn't fix the issue too.

Now I'm worried, because for me clicking "New" always worked. :o

@Oraldo revak, @ShiningNeedle. I need your help on this.

Fire up your KSP instalments, start a new SandBox game, go to the VAB, build something simple that triggers the problem, save the (mangled) craft, then close KSP, and send me:

  • Every single Log file  you find under <KSP.ROOT> (the Logs/* ones, the ModuleManager.Log, etc)
  • ModuleManager.ConfigCache and brothers (shove everything starting with ModuleManager on the GameData, don't worry about licenses, MM allows it).
  • The whole new savegame created on the stunt.

I need to understand what is different from your instalments from mine, so I can have something to work with.

Hi, Thank you for trying to help.. Hmm I'm sorry I'm pretty bad at modding, logs etc.. So when you said "ModuleManager.ConfigCache and brothers (shove everything starting with ModuleManager on the GameData, don't worry about licenses, MM allows it)." I Have litteraly no idea of what does that mean.

I just tried to putted the things that I thought that  you asked. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mDDEs_ozceOpsGiRQd-L4LlH_tfynkwE/view?usp=sharing

Ps : Caft are in SPH , strangely the "Test01" craft work, but the "Test2" and "Test3" have the problem.

Thanks for the info, guys. You have detected a new symptom for an existing KSP Misbehaviour, that I was trying to tackle down on https://github.com/net-lisias-ksp/KSP-Recall/issues/3

Apparently, the Attachment Points are being overwritten on Load (as the Resources are), but only when the part have Variants!

There's no possible fix on TweakScale, as this is beyound the Craft on memory - it's something on the loading code on KSP guts.

See, when I save the craft, the thumbs is generated correctly:

79455172-d4df2c00-7fc2-11ea-8332-5e26a2c

But once I load the damned craft, the part is displaced to the where where it would be if it were not scaled:

79455212-e4f70b80-7fc2-11ea-8719-f2c551b

This is slightly different from the initial behaviour I detected (wandering parts on Load/Revert), but that test were made using parts scaled up, and this is about parts scaled down - so apparently there's a "IF < original" somewhere on that code. Curiously, the "New" trick didn't worked on scaled down parts (perhaps a bug on the bugged code? :sticktongue:).

Anyway, this will not be handled here on TweakScale, it's something to be implemented on KSP Recall. I will advise here and there when I have a fix, I will try something on this WeekEnd.

Hello

Are you still following KIS mod?

I got volume problem when using tweakscale on Remote Guidance Units. When tweakscaling, everything is ok, except the volume data that does not change.

Same problem with the Modular Girder Segment or with engine: tweakscaling up or down does not modify volume datas

Sorry about that, I was having a bit of fun last night.

The message I was referring to was the window that comes up once the game loads warning you of a potentially game breaking error or something.

Thanks for your work on this mod I’m sure it’s not easy.

Usually, you can take a screenshot with that message on screen, so you don't need to remember each word and wrote here what was that message about. Do that before clicking on any other button. If for some odd reason it does not work same message will be available in log files. It is very difficult for anyone to help you without knowing exactly what message is.

Sometimes is already well known issue and solution can be found by searching forum posts. In other times you may be encountering some new issue that neither of users or mod createor is familiar with. Again, noone can give you straight and acurate answer without more info about it. This thread may help you with finding proper log and other files:

Contrary popular belief, programmers are not psychics, can't predict everything (despite trying) and can't read other people minds. Help them with required files to be able to help you.
