Certain searches break the forum software?

I've noticed that for some reason there are certain terms which simply cannot be searched for. Whenever I try, I either get a forum error 1C205/3 ("Sorry, there is a problem. Please wait X seconds before attempting another search"), or a HTTP error 500. It alternates between the two whenever I reload. The most recent term I noticed this error with is "Coatl" (I was trying to find the Coatl Probes Plus mod), but there have been others in the past. Usually it only happens for one-word terms; two or more words, inside or outside of quotes, is usually fine.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Speaking of the search feature, I think it's hilarious that going to the next page is considered a new search, so if you manage to actually run a search, then click on the next page too quickly, it yells at you for performing another search too soon.

A major thing that does break the forum software is when people asking for mod support try to post the entire contents of their KSP.log into the forum and don't host it online somewhere instead. These are in effect "kidney stones" and "bladder stones" to the server.

I havent tried the forum search function since just after the new software switch... it was awful... I guess it still must be, if this topic exists :P

I research and collect all the mods, and 90% of my time here is spent Googling for mod threads.
95% of the time, the word "kerbal", followed by what I can remember of the mod name I am looking for comes up in the first couple results.
If not, I use the " More results from forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com" that usually shows up under the first result referencing the forum... (I'm too lazy to manually type the "site: forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com" string :P

I also found if I need to search for a specific forum member, Google seems to work best for that too... vOv

Though watch out. Frequently Google will get confused and your search for a mod will find an old thread, that says the mod has been discontinued and a link to a new thread, that was also discontinued with a link to a 3rd thread.

That of course reports that LinuxGuruGamer took over the mod, with a link to the 4th thread.

Thats one reason for "continuers" to think about the name/title, to clearly differentiate between them. ;)

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
