What's Your Favorite KSP Challenge You've Done? (if any)

Recommended Posts

I don’t expect orbital mechanics to be intuitive, but I do expect the basic operation of the program to be intuitive. I found KSP to be so non-intuitive that I just could never get far enough into it to get anywhere near learning orbital mechanics.

What exactly are you having trouble with?

in no particular order, it's harder to pick than a broken nose but my own challenges:

the stellar swan dive rescue

the runway start-stop land speed record

the grand tour (AKA The Kessel Run)

Similarly, I must honk my own horn: Faking a Mun Landing was fun

Additionally, while it was hellshly difficult at the time, lifting the legs of the Arkingthaad  as part of the 2014 kerbin cup  was quite something.  So was building the trophies.  Not a regular challenge, but still.

I know it was my challenge, but I really enjoyed the caveman tech spaceplane challenge. Horizontal launch and landing ssto with only caveman tech and buildings.

I found it to be very mentally taxing having to completely break the mould for my usual designs. In the end I convinced myself there was only 1 way to do it, so posted the challenge and was then shown how wrong I was and how many other ways it could be done. Someone even managed to nearly get a Duna encounter (we couldn't really tell as the tracking station wasn't upgraded - and there was no way that plane was coming back to Kerbin).

I also enjoyed the STS missions as designing then redesigning a shuttle capable of the few missions I did was very mentally challenging.

Lastly, the K-Prize because who doesn't love designing cool looking SSTO spaceplanes?
