I think Percy thought it was a lawnmower, or perhaps channeling it's inner Zamboni for a bit... look at those tracks.

Calibration maybe ?

Also, is it true Ingenuity carries part of the Wright Flyer?

Why, do you think, it's flying?

Yes it does, so did the Apollo 11 moon lander

And that's how they reached the Moon.

The special old, wooden magic is shared between them.

Didn't they forget to put it on Voyagers?

I wonder how powered that landing was. It appears to have fallen slower than freefall, but ... one of the screwy things about Mars is that freefall isn't anywhere close to what we're used to, so all our perceptions of gravity in videos like that are widely off.

It looked to be travelling at constant speed, which means it was powered T = mg during descent.

Recently I read an article that the quadrocopter has already been successfully tested on Mars. But I'm wondering if this will be the last flying vehicle on this planet?

Almost certainly the Ingenuity drone will be followed up by larger and more capable vehicles now that the technology has been proven. But it might be a while before designs are converted into hardware on Mars.
