Then the dichotomy becomes "Do you want a broken game with broken mods, or do you want a game that not only has what said mods provide, but also not as many bugs and many QOL adjustments?" Especially considering its a single player game. Most games loose 90% of their playerbase in the first month or so. The spikes are most likely players returning for major updates. The other spikes are no doubt updates aswell.

So I'd say, yes you can see those on the graph. I actually downloaded and played KSP1 a lot again after KSP 2 was announced.

Last time I checked, many people avoid steam when playing with mods (in case an update ruins their save, those pesky devs dare to update their game). I'm probably in the minority. It may not fall immediately but given how many people want KSP2, the drop will be visible. And it certainly won't go up. 6 minutes ago, dave1904 said: After 10 years thats an amazing consistent playerbase. Especially considering its a single player game. There's plenty of those on the market, even singleplayer with dedicated fanbases, with dozens of thousands daily players decades after release. Mods Potato performance Mods Career mode, Science Mods Robotics And some people will point out mods Eventually it will die down, but only after KSP2 fills that ecosystem sufficiently. Look at MSFS: for the longest time FS2008 and FSX existed side by side, 2008 popular because it offered framerates that FSX couldn't offer on similar hardware and detail settings. It will have my modded save that I worked on for months I'm not gonna throw that away for just ksp-1 sandbox but without as many bugs. I will play both but I'm not just going to throw Ksp-1 in the bin yet. Another factor is we dont know how easy it will be to port already existing mods over will we just have to do one or two things or redo everything? how hard will it be to write new configs and draw new textures? we dont know. Something that I want to do is play KSP2 and then go back and play KSP1 to get a full comparison. It'll be fun to see exactly what's changed in the graphics, UI, physics, etc.
Alexoff
I think some mods will not be too difficult to transfer, since both games use the same engine
