Movie Cliches that NEED to Die!

I am sick of the cliche that simple farmboy turns out to be the prophesied one that kills the penultimate evil big bad guy.

I just want someone to mix it up.. instead of farmboy or shepherd why not an nanny or governess...
OR
Grocery Store Stock Boy!!

perhaps a little  mix up toward the end.. simple farmboy grows up and ends up slaying the ultimate representation of good.. or the only way to save the universe is to destroy it.

Ready for a good book where they make the hero some middle age fry cook that ends up being the prophesied one that will and has to  stop the king lord of all that is good from vanquishing evil and destroying the balance

have you not seen any of the evil dead movies?

Yea the show wasn't too bad either.  I'm a sucker for the king of B. Bubbhotep might be one of my favorites of the campy horror variety. Well, there are too many to name a favorite.
Part of what I love so much, is how when they poke fun and turn typical cliches / tropes on end.

Matrix had a Cube Monkey chosen one.

In the Planetfall games you were the ship's janitor.

what about the chosen one is a ruthless dictator?

Every ruthless dictator is a chosen one.

The pathetic plebeians can't get this without careful guidance.

I wouldn't actually mind that (insofar as I take issue with the whole trope), but this is where we're going to have a... hazardous discussion. The Chosen Farmboy trope is usually wish fulfillment, "he who was nothing shall become everything". But this seems - important caveat, in the hands of modern writers - to take two very different forms depending in the sex of the character.

For female characters, there is a far greater tolerance for the tropes of discovering one's hidden powers or unlocking them from malicious repression. The Chosen Farmgirl was amazing all along, the process of growth into a role of unprecedented responsibility is stunted. Additionally, the Galbrush Paradox significantly limits the extent of physical punishment or ridicule the Chosen Farmgirl can undergo to schowcase how she's a farmgirl out of her depth. By, say, having your evil dad toy with you, and then cut your arm off the moment you start getting dangerous. Finally, this "locked potential" concept strongly interferes with the key phase of a Chosen Farmboy's journey - mentorship; the Chosen Farmgirl instead needs mere inspiration, and, due to modern sensibilities, preferably not from a male figure.

Basically, we're talking about an epidemic of bad writing with the target audience of a small subset of narcissistic women with a gender politics chip on their shoulder. Most women, to the surprise of certain quarters of the Internet, aren't narcissists. This epidemic - a part of the broader 'girlboss' malady - has left a trail of fat checks, box office bombs, and stunted careers, but for now it doesn't seem to be letting up

At any rate, I give you the Gender-Balanced Chosen Four from before the Dark Times! (big cat Jesus, which is a bonus, left off screen)

Inconsistent leads in chase scenes.

The bad guy being a well spoken brit.

Bomb timers counting down to 1.

Obvious CGI spoiling your suspension of disbelief.

Cars changing gears up many more times than is possible.

Forced perspective 'just behind the actor' explosions.

Gunshots not being heard by people in the next room.

The Chosen Farmgirl of my childhood, from one of if not the most backbone book of the Universe setting.

Spoiler

Ellie Smith from the Soviet rework of Wizard of Oz (not Zardoz).
Initially (in 1930s) a translation of the first Oz book, since 1950s an absolutely different story with some same characters, much more straight and brutal than the Baum's sadistic sugary original.

At the same time one of the most mystic books, if know what to look at. Almost an initiation path of the magess in the afterworld.

Long emotional death scenes for the good guy, after dozens of instant carefree bad guy deaths.

Getting a debilitating injury in one scene, running like Tom Cruise in the next.

Someone facing the camera being surprised by someone who was obviously standing just out of frame and easily visible to the first person.

One character punching another to render them unconscious, because that's safe and always effective right? (Unless it's Kirk. Kirk gets a free pass, even when it's a woman).

"Let's split up"

Ambient sound being lowered so actors don't need to raise their voice in an open top car.

Donning a space suit on your own in a couple of minutes.

"Hackers" typing while random nonsense is moving on the screen.

Superhero's catching people, and them not being hurt by deceleration physics. (Lois Lane should have been sliced into three).

Guns being cocked again and again without actually shooting.

You literally just described the performance  capabilities of my multi purpose air to air missile I built in my defense save :D
