What would you want in the next update (0.90)?

Given the inclusion of various mods already, and assuming that once they are "feature complete" they work on optimization, it would be interesting to see a competing space program added.

There are numerous mods with Soviet spacecraft, some of which seem pretty "stock alike." No all parts would need to be redone for each program, it might be as simple as an alternate texture for some parts that are reused, plus the more definitive parts (command pods, a few engines, etc). Add a new space suit for them as well (even if just a color change). You'd add an alternate launch site for the other side (Union of Kerbinov Republiks or something like that).

The "rescue" missions might default to being the alternate program. Ideally there might even be competing launches, stations, bases, etc that you might encounter in flight.

If their space center was inland, and not equatorial, then playing the other side would be an option for increased difficulty as well.

Another difficulty setting or play type might be "Space Race." In this case, you'd start off about equal, and the opposing program would have a scripted set of missions it would do in some scheduled timeframe (perhaps a little randomized for replay). You'd lose reputation if the other side beats you to a task. The AI program might intentionally interact with YOU, as well. If you end up with no fuel in orbit, for example, they might send up a rescue mission (their "rescue a kerbal). You could lose a pilot (he defects to their program) and lose rep if they rescue before you do...

Dunno,it would add some interesting play options, and would provide a way to test possible AI solutions.

A picture is worth many words :

Here I am watching the view from one of the moons of the Uranus analogue of KSP, while waiting for my resource to fill-up... Better finish soon as I need to head back to my Uranus station afterwards.

Yeah I know it's not soon on the radar, but it's nice to dream. Like I said earlier, I would settle for an electric propeller :)

Shameless plug, An ingame method to share mods, saves, and .craft files.

I kinda did a thread like this a while back but, It was locked since I moved it to a discussion, and now that discussion is long dead. So here is, I think we should adopt space engineers' sharing system with

curse.com as our "workshop" since not all KSP installs are on steam.

Space engineers knocked it out of the park for mod support. I should provide an argument, but the video speaks for itself. No more ram issues as this system only loads the mod if it is enabled in that specific save. Might mean you have to spend longer waiting if you hop in between saves a lot as it would have to reload some mods, but frankly it would be worth it. Also no more giant parts list for those who have many mods installed. Mods would auto update like any patch on steam, .craft files on the workshop, auto downloading the needed mods when firing up a published save file, if a mod does not work, the game gives the option to load anyways, but delete the offending parts, keeping ships and worlds loadable.... Using mods in SE is so easy now, you would be hard-pressed to find a stock purist. I'm not sure how hard this would be from a coding standpoint, but unless there is a serious issue that makes it too difficult to add, I think it would be a great idea. Not to mention sharing .craft files would be so easy, so no more drop box or mediafire hassle. Sure easier ways to put up a ship might mean we see a lot of junk, but that is why there should be a rating system, as well as predefined set of tags to use that are like steams popular user defined tags to prevent people spamming every tag so their ship is seen more often. Or alternatively, a limit of 5 tags plus the user defined ones.

Quite simple :P

- better performances

- better gui

- better support for mods and the modders community (tools, host sites etc integrated IN the game because we all know that KSP is a mod based game)

EDIT: I forgot: multiplayer (yes that could work, see for example the dark multiplayer mod) and the possibility to paint our ships (some mod allows that). Also a better integration of ressources, in game.

Just so you know, the mod is called KerbPaint, and I believe they are trying to include both resources and multiplayer in the new version. :)

Personally, I would want more planets, more, simplified, less laggy tutorials, and maybe some more scenarios. Although I doubt any of that will be in the next update.

I would kill for a borderless windowed mode so that people like me who are using multiple monitors can access online tools like the launch window planner without minimizing the game (which also sometimes crashes it for me). Or even better if the game improved to the point we don't need external resources

Simply create a link to your .exe then open property and in location add " -popupwindow" in the and

...and what? ...add " -popupwindow" in the and here's a million dollars? ...add " -popupwindow" in the and here's you own spaceship?

Oh no! I got it! I_Killed_Jeb got him! He said he'd kill for it and he did!

Oh... Daze. I pine for you!

Hi, I'm Strong Bad, and I'm from 2002. Ask your parents.

Ah, I remember those days.

The game will not be complete in my eyes until a Saturn analogue is included in the stock game.

The DangIt mod should be stock too, but optional through the difficulty options.

What mod did you use to get those effects?

Do you mean the blue hydrogen/oxygen flame? I did that myself in Photoshop. I screenshot the booster in a parking orbit and edited in the glow later.

Used an illumination effect (i.e. placed a glow coming from inside the engine, colored blue/cyan... 0% red, 50% green and 100% blue). Then applied a little blur and did a little "push" here and there to get the streaking effect inside the nozzle.

I've also edited other screenshots to have the large grey/black sooty streaked "ring" around the engine that you usually see just before a first stage MECO where the plume is already well expanded and there's not enough air to afterburn the residual fuel.

If only the game did that....... it would look SO cool!

Multiplayer!

Oh and better graphics options, without the need for mods.

According to

http://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Planned_features

http://www.pcgamer.com/kerbal-space-program-committed-to-multiplayer-career-and-sandbox-modes/

and http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/content/250

They said almost a year ago that they are supposed to be working on the first steps of multiplayer in 0.24. Oh wait, then 0.24 came out, then 0.24.2 came out, then 0.25..... Then, a year later... Hmm, guess "working on" mean anytime from now until the end of time lol

Would be nice to see at least some kind of alpha version that sorta works.

They have been working on it. Very lightly. The "first steps" you're referring to are probably mostly things like making sure they're not writing code that assumes singleplayer, so that later when they add multiplayer it will work without having to rewrite the entire codebase.

And what do you expect to see in the game to indicate multiplayer is on the way? It's sort of an either-or thing. You can't just kind of have multiplayer. It's not like in 0.24 they were going to add 2-player, and then in 0.25 we were going to get up to 4 player, and then in 0.26 we'd get 8-player or something like that.

And they specifically said that they were going to release multiplayer AFTER the game was RELEASED. The game's not even in Beta yet (though if things work out the next update will be in Beta) so you've got - I'd guess - a year before you can expect to even hear about multiplayer being worked on in earnest.
