Hello. I am sorry but I have decided I do not want to be in your team. I will be on my own or planning to join with KSO creator as I am planning to have the shuttle more like KSO the biggest version of those orbiters with some nice little things. Yes I want to join your team with my so called a bit scifi shuttle. I am sending the replica model to Dragoon today and have free options to do my own thing I want. And Mike I wanted your help at that time, I was just under Dragoon and he was the main guy of our team so I my hands were tied. Anyway I am using some parts too from SSU to say the truth. Some are my own I created but radar dish and engines are from SSU. And do not take that PM too serious. Have a nice day and all the best. Once I will be yout team member I am going to show you what I am working on and my ideas for thah scifi shuttle.

Have some updates. Planning to have two versions of the Shuttle. One for Dragoon as replica of the real one. He can do with it what he wants. The other one will be shuttle with my own ideas I have in my mind. It will not be exactly replica of the real one. That shuttle will have some upgrades EDIT: Or I will just give up the replica ( leave this to Sampa and his team ) and work on that shuttle which will have my ideas in it.

Gratz Proot. Looks like we will have the same Graphics card. I am currently sitting on ATI Saphire HD5850 Vapor X with 2GB. But I am planning to upgrade to GTX 960 4GB from Gigabyte. It is pitty that Nvidia do not want to do GTX 960 TI I would buy it right away. Wau 16 GB od DD3 2400, nice one. Hmm Looks like I need to upgrade my 4 years old PC too. But I am OK with it. It is running quite nice. Just that Graphics card would need an upgrade within next few months. So wish you all the best with your mod. Hope to see it soon released.

What is going on Mike ? I am still wishing you the best of luck with this MOD. I tried your shuttle and it flies really well. There are just some issues like a little bit of a mess with files here and there and those RCS working and not working sometimes, but the glide aspect of the shuttle is really superb. -
Hello, Thank you very much for the info. I think I will do it that I will edit that sound file to be a bit longer. What I need is to have the sound play for those first 5 or so sec and then to be silent for another 5 sec. But maybe it would not be needed. I am still thinking how to do the animation so it will be doing its thing for 5 sec and the rest 5 sec it should be still/not doing anything and it will start all over again. Sorry I would love to give you more info but I am waiting for confirmation that this animation will work in Unity and in KSP. Currently it is only working in Maya

Yeah I know lo-fi. But I did not receive answer for the first time. SO was hoping for some suggestion or at least rumor or something this time. But OK will see what will SQUAD do after 1.1.

Ok so going to ask again. Do we get a new part tools when 1.1 update hits ? I hope yes as Unity 5 has some new features. Anybody has some info on new version of part tools ?

Great to find that there is one plugin for this animation sound. Going to try it for one of my own features for a shuttle. Hope it will work. But what I would need from this plugin is. The animation will have someting like 10 sec. First 5 sec is the animation the rest is a blank time. And what about if I have only a sound file that has 3 seconds ? Do I need to use some sound editor program and prolong that sound file from 3 to 10 sec ? And just to be sure that sound will start playing when I click on the ship to for example lower gears and it will stop after the gears are lowered right ? Thanks

Thank you very much for help. It is working now I put the code a bit higher in the chain of MODULES and RESOURCES and now it is wokring. But I want to ask you one more question. Is it possible to turn off the black texture we get when the shield is nearly empty ? Cuase right now after reentry nearly the whole shuttle is black Wings turned black, cargo bay turned black, nose and cockpit turned black Thank you- 5,919 replies

Can somebody help me with adding shield to the part ? I am trying to add ablative shield to one part of a Shuttle. DECQ no problem. I used a lot of images from web. Real shuttle images but also images from 3D objects like from this site http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/space-shuttle-discovery-3d-model/266980 and from this site http://www.gandoza.com/3d-aircraft/spacecraft-models.html?p=2 Those guys are great. So I used those pics as reference too. Anyway it would be easy to just use someone's other work , modify a bit in Maya and send it to Dragoon and pretend like nothing happened, that it is my model. With this approach we would have the shuttle within 2 weeks in September 2014. But I wanted to do it myself and not use someone's other work. So it is taking me more than 1 year to finish it. And you know why ? Cause I had to relearn the mechanics of 3d modeling from scratch. So first few months I watched Digital Tutors videos and read about 3 books about modeling in Maya. And I was lucky that I have a family friend who is working for game company in Vancouver ( Canada ) as a 3d artist. So I sent him my model a few times for check. And well the results are this is the 6th model of the shuttle. All others had some mistakes and model errors according to that friend. Well he wanted from me to find them and learn from them. So every time I saw his response about not good I started from scratch. This 6th model I have not sent him for check. I am too afraid to get bad response again. I put so much time to this 6th model...

DECQ Yeah I know but my model is my own. The texture is used from web I found. Maybe it is from that SSU you are talking about. I was on a lot of different sites with textures for the shuttle and for the metal look. And those front things I always wanted to have them in the shuttle. I heard a lot on youtube that Shuttle is deploying its atmospheric sensors. Never heard about them so I started looking what it is. And I found on one picture that atmospheric sensors are thsoe little things in the front of shuttle. So I added them.

Model of what? What is SSU? What did you learn? DECQ I think you are pointing that I am using someone's other work. I would never do that. Never. I want to have my hobby clean as it is possible. No stealing of other's work. Just learning through mistakes and watching Digital Tutors videos. DECQ I think you forgot that this model was developed by me for at least a year. I did not use the NASA or the original one from Rocket2guns. This is my own creation which I was workig on for whole year.

Trying to create new textures But well still need to do a lot of work and time is limited. For example thinking about removing those white letters and for sure removing those holes from this texture. And thinking that I still need to make those tiles smaller.
