That's fantastic as far as most people's first engines go. UVs on engines are always a chore, don't worry too much.

Screenshots from tonight's stream. Most of the LDC Titan main core is in game, and is mostly done barring some tweaking and details to the textures. I need to do an audit of the paint tones for the whites and blacks across BDB, I'm worried they're not consistent. Currently for LDC we have the 3 fuel tanks, the upper stage engine mount, and the interstage that fits between them. Attach method is the same as the Saturn ones - indeed, I'm wondering if someone can get me some screenshots of this new stage on top of a Saturn 1? You can use the S-IV interstage. In other news, the OGO-inspired core and solar panel should be in game as well. I, ah, forgot to make sure that the solar panel actually generates power... so, fair warning? The Skylab/Spacelab screenshots were just taken for some eye candy, shoutout to @RocketPCGaming for raiding the stream! Y'all caught me a bit on the wrong foot as I was trying to clean things up and upload them so I could go to bed. I'll try to put on more of a show next time!

Some modmaking questions from a noob
CobaltWolf replied to SlimeOfSteel's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Of course! Sorry I was in a bit of a rush so I just posted the link, but that's a good walkthrough basic engine modeling, texturing, and setup. It's for Wings3D but the ideas/process carry over. -
Pls forward that list to me I'd be interested in stealing them I think the VA LES should be done while you're on Proton, just to get it taken care of.

Oh my goodness, I forgot to post these after Sunday's stream. Progress on the engine mount for the LDC Titan. Please note that the J-2 is a placeholder, but of course it will be possible to mount one and use our fuel switching to make this a cryogenic upper stage. Also, I based some of the detailing on this painting. However, I need feedback. What should the paint scheme be for the mount? You can see in the pictures below I have it in two ways - with the cutouts bare metal, and the whole thing painted black. Any preferences on which? Or something completely different? Let me know what y'all think, I'm happy with what I have so far for this part but I'm unsure where to take it from here. I think more greebling will be added. Please bear in mind this is meant to interact with / fit with the Saturn parts.

Idk just wanted to contribute to the spam. Felt this deserved its own thread. Carry on.

Multiple Docking Ports on a single Part
CobaltWolf replied to chrisl's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
what extent have you tested this? Have you placed other docking module cfgs in that first spot? -

EDIT: stream is over, will post pics later. Not going as long as I had hoped the other day, but I might be able to get some stuff done at least. Stream going up! And, I was able to get some work done on my laptop. Unfortunately I didn't have any up to date files, so I had to make something small and simple from scratch. I found a reference pic of the Orbiting Geophysical Observatories, and decided to make that probe core. Solar panels are modeled and partially textured as well. Pretty nifty if you ask me... I kinda want to do that funky antenna with the hoop on the end.

You realize that makes BDB the worst one right? Sorry that the stream lasted about ten minutes yesterday everyone. Power cut out and still hasn't come back. I'm able to do some work (and charge my ohone) from my laptop but it won't be anything that ive worked on yet (since I dont have my KSP files here) Oh god mobile posting is awful so sorry for the strange tag position mike. I can't type after the tag only before. Thats a lot of feedback, which I actually appreciate - not a lot of users give it. The only reason the Launcher plumes look alright is the work that user Araym did for me. I can look into using the FASA effects for the other parts, I don't do anything with the stock plumes because most users I've spoken to use Real Plume (and I never learned the stock FX system...). The CSM RCS is a stock bug I believe, youre not the first to mention it The deployment animations were deliberate, trying to feel a little more dodgy/kerbal. I am curious about the other comments like the SLA, LM piloting... I wonder if our forces are just too strong. We'll have to agree to disagree about the FASA LM's quality, though of course we cannot pretend that this one even begins to approach the same level of realism. @MikeO89 You realize that makes BDB the worst one right? How does mods work with the Tech Tree in Career mode?
CobaltWolf replied to H0FF1's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
With all of that said, @H0FF1 parts basically require a line for what tech node they require in order to show up. Some mod authors might leave it as whatever tech node was in the config they based the new one off of (modders usually copy a part cfg for a part close to the one they're making instead of building them from scratch) so they might not be placed very well for progression. -
All great people! Congrats @Drakenex @Nertea @Beale @5thHorseman @tater !

I was hoping for Vietnamese rockets...

Indeed. Of course, it's complicated somewhat by the existing light (officially an EVA Floodlight) being internally labeled as "DockingLight" in all the files... But, it is nice, as it gives a sense of closure to comments I made last summer, re: wishing that there were more nice greebly parts to be made for Apollo, as I was jealous of all the neat Soyuz parts @Beale was finding - including, particularly, a light: It also nicely jives with @RaiderMan commenting the other night that he misses the ahistoric Gemini lights from FASA. This should be similar size, I believe. I'm honestly really glad I stumbled onto the drawings where I spotted it. Anyone know of any other cute/useful little parts like that which I could include in the Apollo stuff and wouldn't be too much work to make? I have essentially a 1024 (ie, lower right corner of a 2048) texture sheet to play with... Doesn't even have to be real if you can justify it What is this "becoming" nonsense? Can you not handle 400 new parts?

as far as I know, nothing will stop you. You might need to make sure your ship has an attach node (cubic octogonal strut?) though, but apart from that...

Looking for mods to go with a BDB-themed career
CobaltWolf replied to T-10a's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
I personally would never run BDB without Taerobee and Tantares installed as well. I work pretty closely with Beale and have a ton of respect for his work. Cormorant Aeronology by Pak is also good if you want a shuttle. In that same vein, Vostok Continued adds the old Tantares Vostok back in.
