  1. Not that Kerbal, but should be in KSP. https://cs14.pikabu.ru/video/2022/10/24/1666585471243283155_576x720.mp4 https://cs14.pikabu.ru/video/2022/10/24/16665851592946088_608x1080.av1.mp4
  2. ??? I'm sure the late 1980s were the time of an avalanche of nuclear winter publications, as I was hunting every nuke-book in my student times (just treating the nuclear winter tale as a horror tale, I was interested in nukes). There were a lot of models with numbers, I have a book of them somewhere in the closet. Even then it was looking stupid to calculate the soot production for smouldering and at the same time its uplifting for firestorm, as they were doing. It was one of the important lessons for me to watch out every time when I hear the "shut up because professional scientists think so" chatter, first watching what can the scientist be selling for money. First of all for every "big bada-boom!" theory, like the dinokillaz, Theia crash, or Late Heavy Bombardment. (Together with other examples of the Unseen University in real world, and books signed by academicians but written by some magister for food career, containing stupid mistakes).
  3. This is what is seen from several orbital incubators with quail eggs and chickens flown on biosats and Mir. And the decalcination (and as a result weakening the bones and the muscles, including the heart) is almost first thing which the adult spacenauts face in zero-G after stopping vomit, literally in days. The quail eggs were to fly in the planned centrifuge ISS biomodule until its cancellation.
  4. Restarting the colonies from scratch. *** Feels that somebody could realize that releasing a full game means releasing it once, like a supernova final of the KSP franchise. While splitting it in parts can allow to be selling it for several years. (Of course if it's indeed finished and the four months are not required to polish the Early Access features.)
  5. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humans_as_Gods aka https://ru-m-wikipedia-org.translate.goog/wiki/Люди_как_боги_(роман_Снегова)?_x_tr_sl=ru&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=ru&_x_tr_pto=wapp It's all about ramming (like alcubierring) the space and matter with huge hyperspace star ploughs.
  6. I guess, any flight where RCS or low thrust mode is enabled for attitude control can't be enough precise to fit a several minutes interval. These devices are exactly to compensate the unpredictable errors.
  7. No drinks, parental cams everywhere, and even the spinning bottle tends to overturn due to the known effect. What should they wish there? Two days of hangover without a party. We do. Their bones are growing and need calcium. While zero-G means speedy calcium removal, something quite the opposite. Traumatism and fragility. Growing together as well. , until the bone halves have reattached enough to withstand the 20 g in case of ballistic descent. We did it. With birds and others. It affects badly. People should reproduce the Earth conditions where they live. +1 10 teens in every section to compare them to the healthy control group.
  8. This inspires, as it requires a vacuum harvester. Hope, they are in the KSP-2. Of course, four months more are important after the previous four years. Exactly.
  9. A minor thing stays unclear. What does it need to be done till 24 Feb?
  10. The fans of Tsiolkovskiy should indeed read Tsiolkovskiy at least once. He was considering as good the space rocketplanes, and his multi-stage rocket project was a multi-locomotive rocket train pulling the cargo carriage and separating aside one by one. P.S. The people are ready to enthusiastically propose any absurd or weird rocket design (including the permanently exploding melted supercritical uranium salt in the engine throat), just to avoid accepting the obvious. Like if the liquid nuclear blasts inside are in any part better than the trivial nukes exploding behind.
  11. It's feasible. 1 t of teenagers can replace 1 t of any other ballast.
  12. (As I said in another thread,) Early Access = "Fly like a sir an earl!"
  13. Tags. Custom tags added to the Kerbal info in a person info window (btw why still none?). P.S. If talk about realism, then a Kerbal should also have "...phobia" slots.
  14. Thank you, I should check it again. I thought they are just utilizing the existing ones.
  15. Submercible Submissive for mercy.
  16. He means that if the KSP-2 Early Access (a privileged user initiative, "Fly like an earl!") isn't available on Linux, he will neither open windows on the Proton rocket nor use Windows on its computer.
  17. In the case of MH17 incident they pretend detecting AA missile launches. Light hull means thin hull. Vulnerable to the EM shot. Also, even the modern portable IR-homing AA missiles aren't just AA, they also check UV signature to discriminate decoys. It needs delta-V to jump to the target, so a pack of engines and a fuel system (tanka, valves) which can't be effectively scaled down. Its cross-section to mass ratio is high, so the drag is many times greater, so it will be deorbiting nuch faster than the target satellites. Probably more poor than on simultaneous hitting two planes within a second. (Has that ever happened?) Yes. ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_Dragon_(rocket) ) http://neverworld.net/truax/Sea_Dragon_Concept_Volume_1.pdf Search "expandable"
  18. And btw. As the Kerbals are highly likely a littoral life form, their bathroom/restroom/toilet is highly likely a large bowl where they swim, wash, and pee/poop at once. That lonely human toilet in the KSC ruins doesn't look common in their usage. What a sad example of gender stigmatization. So, the femkerbals must be always soft and oval? It's very disappointing. Btw, a nice euphemism [snip] "Offline Multiplayer Session". To be green doesn't mean to be a plant. Frogs, crocodiles, and ecological activists other species confirm that.
  19. The scared bear was ready to run away, but was afraid of turning back to this maniac.
  20. Having seen their construction style, I would even sleep in helmet in a Kerbal lunar house.
  21. Who at all said that it's hair?.. ... and eyes? Their view camera is monocular and is placed on the forehead. They reproduce by cloning the default binary objects in memory. Their gender system can be quite tricky. Remember, they have presented the Kerbal emotions years ago. Maybe exactly the development of the dedicated mechanics took so much efforts.
