They probably would not be at a 45° angle, but at a steeper angle to the capsule. However, there is so far neither the LES or the capsule, let alone the supply and orbital module. Everything so far only planning and mind games. A few meaningless exhibition models. So my artistic freedom door is open :)

Maybe try to make the thrusters a little smaller, and angled down more, and see how you like it then. :)

Excuse me, but neither i nor my translator can sense translate your sentence. What you want to ask?

The abort thrusters on the tower seem to stick out pretty far and I was wondering if that's how it was on the real one.

Ich bin... Uh... sehr unwissend... My German is very rusty.

You cannot go "small" doing some of the bigger (an sexier) rockets ever built...

... we need just a bigger VAB X°D
Pester Squad about it, and all we'll be fine. LOL

A real scale Saturn V does NOT fit in the VAB, but I think a Kerbal scale one would be fine. If not Snjo's Hanger Extender plugin still works, I think RoverDude maintains it.

To be "in scale" with an Apollo at 2.5m (and looking at Cobalt precision, to search almost real proportions), actually a Saturn V should be in the range of 5.6m diameter...
    ... but maybe a 6.25m could be nice for a Nova-like, concept, rocket (8 or more F-1 engines :P???)

Trust me, I tried to tell them it was too big for a 3.75m S-IVb and 2.5m Apollo... I hate the idea of making any of those bigger, though. Compromises must be made.

I ran an ASTP mission a bit earlier (holy cats, it's LATE!) with the current github Apollo config aboard a Saturn 1c (my own concoction using SSTU).

Everything went bang on perfect. What isn't stable about the CSM that isn't permitting release? I've got a rather personal investment in the Apollo programme, so I'd like to help out where I can.

It's mostly the textures. They still lack a normal map and a proper specular map IIRC, as well as I think the parachute issue. It should probably wait until the S-IVb and LEM are completely finished too.

    Update:

For those of you wondering how my little sounding rocket project is going: ...slowly. On top of everything that's been happening in real life, I don't actually know how to do a lot of things in Maya, AND I don't know how to use Unity. However, I DID make a little Aerobee Jr. engine for a liquid stage if you'd fancy.

So, I'm looking at what would be required to add a Kerbalism patch for BDB. Does the various Service Modules for Gemini and Apollo need the iinclusion of food/oxygen (Kerbalism's LS resources) is that only found in the capsule. I'm not looking for what the historical vision of these would be but instead what @CobaltWolf, @VenomousRequiem, etc have in mind.

Hey, hey, I was talking about making Kerbalism configs for BDB just earlier with Cobalt and Jso. If you want to do it, it'd probably turn out better. :P

I rarely say I hate things and actually mean it, but I legitimately hate the KSP forums on mobile. Let it be known it took me 5 minutes to get rid of a quote from days ago that was stuck in the text field to make this post.

I've looked at RSB, and yes its exactly what I'm looking for as far as scale is concerned, but the problem I see is I cant find an Apollo SpaceCraft to sit on top. FASA is the only mod I've found with an Apollo SpaceCraft that is updated. If someone can point me in the direction of an Apollo Spacecraft of the right scale, I'd appreciate it.

BDB linked in my signature is working in exactly what you want.

I just loaded BDB, excited to try it...the little sounding rocket that you start with - with the Geiger counter and thermometer. It doesn't seem to have enough power to transmit both experiments, but with no chute, it's going to break up on landing, so I can't collect the experiments...what am I missing here? is there supposed to be a battery?

    It's not a sounding rocket it's Explorer 1. :P

Here's an update on the model. Today I was mostly adding details and fighting with my modeling software.

Well, if you'd like, @NecroBones has a Saturn V in his RSB pack which I think is scaled down to 6.25m in the stockalike patches, and that's the scale that BDB's Saturn V will be at. No offence to anyone that uses it but FASA is sort of outdated, and it's scale is... questionable. I think you should calculate it based on a 6.25m S-Ic/S-II. :)

@CobaltWolf I didn't really play with it much yet, but the Apollo CM is very nice work, so much so that it's likely to take over the top spot for 3-kerbal pods in my builds. I was all set to go down the path of modeling an Apollo CM of my own, but now I can push that plan off indefinitely.

Best of all, the Apolllo-style LES I made for my PEBKAC Launch Escape Systems mod will be fairly easy to adapt to fit perfectly on this CM.

    Apollo BPC

Ohh, that'd be nice until the actual BPC gets done. :)
