  1. So the rules of this challenge is to destroy Team B with extreme predjudice in one launch, not 2 separate launches Nice attempt .... but seeing as you didn't follow the 1 launch rule as stated, I am unable to accept your entry as it is unfair to entrants who followed the rules
  2. The only thing of note that KSP v1.3 will bring is flames and salty tears ... not everyone will get their 'way' so there be a lot of complainin' coming around the corner That's what KSP v1.3 will bring
  3. Vessel mover will help with that ... launch a craft and just move it to where you need it
  4. @Triop - might I suggest that you update the OP to include the link for the track that will be used ... I'm itching to get the official version so I can find the best route between each checkpoint I have managed to hit a top speed of over 170m/s on a flat and launch Bill's Bad Beaver to well over 700 meters and landed it with just the nosecone getting smashed ... I remembered the chutes this time Bill's Bad Beaver is all stock with 2 Juno's as the main drive ... Bill will be driving so he can pack the chutes after he takes his Bad Beaver to new heights
  5. I learned that it might be a good idea to pack some chutes on your buggy in case you get airborne
  6. So for entertainment value might I recommend this .... Also, if you ask nicely, perhaps @Azimech would let you use his custom wheel sounds
  7. A 3D tv would solve that for you ... 3D in the home isn't dead at all, it's just prohibitively expensive My Samsung 46" was $1200 Canadian last year but damn it was a good buy (mainly because more than 1 person can watch it unlike a vr headset which can only accommodate one person) And the tech included for artificial 3D from a 2D image works almost seamlessly ... even when there is a lot of movement on the screen So 3D tv's are definitely not a failed technology, however VR has failed a few times ... only time will tell if it succeeds in becoming mainstream but with the many reports from popular 'honest' gamer reviews have VR still giving people googly eyes and vertigo when they strap on a headset doesn't bode well for the tech (not to mention the raccoon face you get from having to strap the headset on tight so it doesn't slip around when playing)
  8. ^^^This Perfect example of how 3D can help in the VAB/SPH (notice I didn't say VR) I have one of those supposedly failed technologies, an OLED 3D smart tv, and have ran KSP quite a bit in 3D mode ... looks fantastic and building in the VAB is pretty cool as you actually have depth perception Thing is that after awhile 3D just becomes a novelty
  9. I definitely like this idea ...... One issue I see is having actual dates and realworld time limits for completing a leg of the challenge ... perhaps have a start date for each leg but extend the due date for each one from 24hrs to a few days (or even a week) as many who would like to take part may have RL get in the way and that could end up making them miss the due date for the leg they are doing
  10. KSP is dead ....... ....... What is dead may never die
  11. I'm actually starting to lean in the direction of win10 being much better at running KSP I recently did an OS flush (factory reset) and had to drop back to win8.1 ... KSP runs like molasses in winter on 8.1 compared to win10 I hate to say it but MS actually might have done something right for once
  12. Although I do understand that most people 'hear' words in their head as they read (dyslexic persons do not for the most part), I do not understand how they have replied with an angry hostile tone when the voice you are hearing is your brain processing the written words you are reading ... written words do not have a tone as they have not been spoken or synthesized into sound waves for your ear drums to pick up So the tone is actually how your brain is choosing to interpret the written words found here ... perhaps taking a step back and accepting what others have to say as their opinion in a discussion, rather than a personal attack upon yourself, might be beneficial for you and this conversation Or is this thread going to go the way of flames and salty tears because people are unwilling to accept that there are those who have differing opinions on the subject of VR in KSP?
  13. Very nice, love your solution to this challenge Poor Bob ... he will be remembered with great fondness and we shall honor his memory with more 'splosions and destruction so as to let it be know that his sacrifice was not in vain All praise Bob ... The bringer of rain
  14. Anything goes .... destroy team B with extreme predjudice by any means necessary
  15. Yup, good luck I've managed to take out all 6 with 4 craft although only 1 craft made it to the final target but ran outta fuel like the rest before I could get her back to the KSC .... need more fuel
  16. So as you said, assuming that a general grave is 2 meters deep ....... Well all I have to say is that when @Red Iron Crown buries someone, he buries 'em good ... standard grave dimensions do not apply
  17. I put the CoL behind the CoM, however the CoL 'ball' is always in contact with the CoM ... the amount of 'contact' depends on the flight characteristics of the craft in question I have craft where the offset between the two is close to 1/3rd the radius of the CoM 'ball' (judged from the center of said ball) but this is due to the general operational speed of said craft. Then I have other craft which, due to their flight characteristics (as well as weight, thrust, lift, drag, dimensions, major and minor lifting surface positions etc....) the CoL is offset by 1/2 the CoM radius (or more) A good general rule of thumb to follow is to always be sure your CoL 'ball' is in contact with the CoM 'ball' and that the horizontal lines running through the 'balls' are close to intersection Another thing is to pay attention to where your CoM is when full of fuel and when empty ... best practice is to do your best to make sure that there is as little variance as possible between empty and full as these states being different will change the flight characteristics of your craft in flight as it uses fuel
  18. So I've been reading this thread and think there may be a way to do this challenge with only 1 part mod ... it would be a complex solution to say the least, but should be doable with Smart Parts Continued
  19. Hi @applenper, welcome to the forums First thing to check would be if you're KSP version is compatible with the version of BDArmory you have Unfortunately real life got in the way of the original creator continuing his work, however we at the BDAc Development Group have taken up the torch to continue development of this great mod I am assuming that you are using the latest version of KSP so I will direct you to the following thread where you will find download links for BDAc and other mods in the Baha family that the BDAc team support
  20. This would totally depend on what a KSPer views as major or minor For instance, many people out there have the nefarious CTD issue that was being caused by highlight fx being beligerent on some systems ... this is also may be the fix for the rotary bomb rack in BDAc (more testing is needed to confirm this though) So whether a bug is major or minor depends on your perspective
  21. We also have Camera Tools working if you want to use the dogfight camera for your videos Check in the op of the BDAc thread for the Git repository link ... you'll find the download for the latest release there
  22. That's awesome ... Spanner vs the band Suicidal Tendancies sounds like a great bout of destruction But seriously, think you mispelled a name ... SuicidalInsanity
  23. It is difficult but doable ... either come in below the mountain turret and hit it while climbing up (it is hanging on the ledge so you should be able to take it out) or come in from really high and drop down right on top of its head
  24. So a completely stock orbital Rod of God platform would qualify for this challenge, yes?
