I've heard that something changed in the games "Difficulty" settings menu, so mod that use that will break the game. I don't remember if Persistent rotation uses KSP settings or its own. Sarbian's other mods haven't broken the game, for me so I would be surprised if CBK broke it (though I haven't tried it myself). I would guess this mod need to be fixed and recompiled at some point.

I believe it is listed as 1.3 compatible on Spacedock.

Dang! KSP updated and broke one of my mods
Nightside replied to Ty Tan Tu's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
@Ty Tan Tu to avoid this mishap in the future, don't play directly out of your Steam install, make a copy and mod and play out that one. -

Lately I’ve developed the opinion that, only by learning to live sustainably on Mars (or wherever) can we learn to live on Earth.

Envionment Visual Enhancements OR Scatterer
Nightside replied to JedTech's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Thanks for the tip! I was scared of that one because of the name... I have a low-performance (graphically at least) computer. I will try it out. -
SMURFF is the go-to mod for easily rebalancing almost all your parts to fit different scale systems. Also it is a masterpiece of Module Manager config, if you are trying to learn what you can do with MM, its a good place to look for inspiration. Squad nerfs its parts compared to real life rockets mostly by increasing the thrust to weight ratio. Therefore pods, tanks and engines are all heavier than the real counterpart, engine thrust is also greatly reduced. You can learn more about this on the SMURFF thread. It might help to think of the stock planets as KSP tutorial mode. It is easy to get to orbit and figure out the basics of orbital mechanics without having to get to stuck figuring all the details that make rocket science hard. Stock parts, and almost all mods are balanced to this, Once you've got this down, a 2.5x sized Kerbin is the place to go, now you need to design multi stage rockets and the proportions look more realistic. You can look at a picture of a Soyuz launcher, stack up tanks and engines so it looks about right and it should get a reasonable payload to a low orbit.

Love the BFR landing vid! Perfect (Kerbal) landing!

If you are looking to repeat the performance of making a lot of money very quickly you need to be opening up new markets, not by slightly outperforming existing tech (F9 for example) in well established markets. If the hopper plan were to work, it would be by opening up new routes. It would likely not be competive to a NYC-London airliner route.

And we're off! He's nervous, but he seems to loosen up a bit when he is rattling off numbers, and watching his rockets land!

@DrLicor and @Nolys_, There appear to be configs for it in the RO folder, so it should work. If it doesn't, you might learn more over in the RO thread. I can't speak for the completeness or current compatibility at the moment, but this should give you a place to start. https://github.com/KSP-RO/RealismOverhaul/tree/master/GameData/RealismOverhaul/RO_SuggestedMods/CXAerospace

In order of preference. #1 rework landercore tanks, especially if they could also serve as tanks for satellite parts( ie foil tanks). #2 Dragons, although there are a few Dragon mods out there, they seem be abandoned, buggy and more Kerba-like in style, same for the Boeing, but its not quite as exciting as Dragon. I don't think there is a great need for more early space replica parts. FASA has a lot and recently Silentvelcro has been doing some very good looking stuff.

Is there a trick to downloading a single folder from Github? I want the NFConstruction optional patches, can I download folder, or the whole optional folder without downloading all of SSTU, or downloading each individual file?

Hi @hab136, I discovered an incompatibility with the parachutes in the SSTU mod, Safechute is not triggered when approaching touchdown. They use a custom module called SSTUModularParachute. Would it be possible to add compatibility for the next release, maybe when 1.3.1 rolls around?

Wow this looks great!

What are some good mods that add launch towers?
Nightside replied to Jhorriga's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Most of the launch towers out there are elaborate launch clamps. 1. FASA - probably the most popular- available separately from the rest of the mod 2. A couple by @sciencepandahttps://spacedock.info/mod/735/Stock Launch Pads https://spacedock.info/mod/626/SpaceX Launch Towers 3. Real Scale Launchers also has a cool Delta IV tower. ...enjoy!
