  1. Same here. I’m not sure. F9 can get 5.3 tonnes to GTO with landing, and the mass of the GPSIIIA1 is 3880 kg. So I don’t see why the booster had to be thrown away. Of course, the satellite is being taken to MEO, which has higher dv requirements that just GTO, but if you still have a tonne and a half of payload left, can you not get the satellite to the target orbit? The part about using a new booster might make some sense, but unless I underestimate the dv needed to transfer from GTO to MEO, than I don’t see why the booster is being discarded.
  2. It’s really not in “space”. Even the karma line is a somewhat conservative boundary, so if a spacecraft cannot penetrate even that, it is dubious whether it really is s spacecraft, or just an advanced plane.
  3. Banned for speaking the truth. It’s really out of fashion these days.
  4. Banned for having more rep than rep given.
  5. Ok, thanks. I’d been searching the properties menu, but it never occurred to me to look at betas.
  6. Don’t let school get in the way of your education
  7. Ok, here’s your doot doot man I would like just one number nine large, with a side of Don Quixote.
  8. Banned for literally being every other poster on this thread
  9. Wait when was this tread merged? EDIT: answered my own question: literally in the post above this one 8.5/10, the classic has never lost its charm
  10. So until now I have always played in the latest version of ksp, glad that steam would invariably update the game whenever possible. Now, though, I want to do a play through of @GregroxMun‘s Altetnis Kerbol mod. Which unfortunately only works in version 1.4x. So how do I, in steam, chose which version I play? I have a sneaky suspicion that the answer is quite simple?
  11. No. Specific impulse is the total impulse over unit of fuel consumed. But when you reduce your impulse by throttling down, you also burn less fuel, maintaining the ratio.
  12. True. I have never encountered any bugs in the stock game, and with the limited set of mods I use, I wouldn’t say that they are a problem. However, I know that more heavily modded installs are central to some people’s playstyles, so a big bug fix certainly wouldn’t hurt. Of course, new content presents the opportunity for new bugs, but if feel that nowadays squad does a good job keeping the game in shape, considering what a terrible mess the code probably is.
  13. I suppose that I’ll add the next car to the respect train: Ksp is the only game that I never cease to bore of. Perhaps I play more flashy titles then and now, but I have never gone a long time without returning to our beloved world of little green folk. Except I have seldom known a “fillet Rossini” that can be perpetually enjoyed.
  14. No net? Is that really going to be safe for reuse? On a somewhat related note , how does the force on the faring at max q compare to the force from crashing into the ocean? ( I suppose that they don’t even compare, thus why fairings have never been reused )
  15. This would be a grate way to ward off the “stock solar system blues” where all the planets get kind of boring. Of course, the stock solar system should still be an option, so that beginners would not need to go through the trouble of calculating transfer windows, as well as that a stock solar system would have detailed tutorials on how to reach milestones like the min, duna, etc. Of course, I am certain that this would never be added to the game as it is now, but it could be a feature in a ksp sequel or something like that. (That’s probably not going to happen).
  16. This usually doesn’t happen in my experience, though, as any culprit object that would bounce the kerbal away from the ship would probably obstruct the hatch to begin with.
  17. But of course, once you logged on to the forums, you were struck with the awesome feeling of being alone together.
  18. Unfortunately, it would seem that it goes right through the third planet of a relatively inconsequential g-type star.
  19. Are you suggesting that it is no longer a part of you childhood mature and responsible adult life?
  20. First, I guess 0/10, why would kerbin have an army?
