As I expected, SN1 is coming together quickly. -
[Old Thread] KRE - Kerbal Reusability Expansion
RealKerbal3x replied to EmbersArc's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
As far as I can see, it works fine in 1.9. -
Yeah, some of the S-IVBs went into heliocentric orbit, and some were deliberately crashed into the Moon to calibrate the seismometers that the astronauts put on the surface.

The article says it's biopropane, so yeah.

What strategy do you take in a career game?
RealKerbal3x replied to peewee69's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I really, really like building and using reusable, easily reconfigurable hardware. That way, I can use it for multiple missions while keeping the cost down. -
Impromptu Starlink?

Transfer launch from Mun orbit: what altitude?
RealKerbal3x replied to Hotel26's topic in Science & Spaceflight
@Hotel26 The Mun has a fairly low mass, but it'd still probably be best to stage your ships from low orbit to benefit from the Oberth effect. I would build an interplanetary transfer station in LKO, though. Launching from the Mun just makes it harder, as you'll have to line up the position of the Mun with your ejection angle, while still remaining in the transfer window. -
Robotics folder empty?
RealKerbal3x replied to gentlemale's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
@gentlemale Are you playing in career or science mode? If so, you may not have unlocked the robotics yet. -
Well, it's in TantaresLV, which, since Tantares is just split into two, means it is essentially still part of this mod.

RealKerbal3x replied to Skylon's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Sad, today's mission was going to make the milestone of 50 successful rocket landings, but the booster just decided to plunk itself in the ocean... -
It may be a Unity bug, but that doesn't mean SQUAD can't squash it - report it to the bug tracker! Since it's never been reported before 1.9, I'd assume this is linked to the changes to the camera system that were made in the update. Like many others here, I wouldn't mind if SQUAD pushed 1.10 back and extended the 1.9.x release cycle to really hammer out some bugs. As much as I like shiny new textures and features, 1.9.0 is quite a buggy release - notwithstanding the bugs from 1.8.x that weren't fixed - and I feel like the game needs to be in top form stability-wise to properly 'pass the baton' onto KSP 2.

So it may have been damaged from tipping over, like the CRS-16 booster was. -

These webcasts are always great, but I do miss the technical ones they used to do -
A couple of times it happened when I was flying aircraft close to the ground - after takeoff and before landing. It does seem to be a bit overzealous, especially when it happens after takeoff when you're ascending and aren't going to impact the surface particularly soon.

So the new Drain Valve produces thrust ... and is quite broken.
RealKerbal3x replied to Xurkitree's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I'm certain they will fix it. The part's config file is supposed to stop it from draining Intake Air, it's just that there's a typo in that file that allows this exploit to happen. -

Seems like they're starting to install a roof (or something) on their level 1 VAB over in Boca. If it is a roof, it doesn't look like the building is tall enough to house a Super Heavy, but maybe they'll be stacking SN1 in there. -

The intake air bug is already confirmed on the bug tracker, but I haven't seen the other two there yet. You should probably add them. -

Nice chapter! This is one of the prettiest screenshots I've ever seen

No one else has reported this problem - I'm certainly not having it - so this may be on your end. If you use Steam, try validating your game files.
