  1. open the cheat menu, on PC it's alt-f12, dunno what it is on a mac. Find the entry labeled "Input locks", and then clear those input locks. See if that helps.
  2. The new studio is remaining under the Private Division label, which is their indie studio department. Like I said in my previous post, considering who and what they acquired, it's rather encouraging for the prospects of having KSP2 be what it should be. But you are right, there is a history of big studios (in any media, just not software) taking the little pet project and making it ugly. Only time will tell.
  3. From the KSP2 Rlease date thread, which I have encouraged people to shuffle this discussion to this thread: Speaking as regular community member, I think this is just the opposite. Uber/ST has a track record of under performing and failed deliveries IIRC. Take Two specifically went for the KSP2 IP, which included some key personnel from within ST program. I think this is more of a sign that TT is hell bent on publishing KSP2, on time (well, the new time), and up to standard. I'm actually quite encouraged by this. Time will tell though.

Now speaking as a Moderator, the discussion seems to be going full force over in this thread, so just to keep things simple, let's move the conversation over there. @Jimbodiah, I will also quote your post there.
  5. I know everybody hates this answer, but "There's a mod for that!" .... or at least some of your issues. I'm not sure if it's still current though.... There are welding mods that, for the wings in particular, allow you to create single pieces from multiples. That way you could create huge wing surfaces, but only deal with one part. The rest of your suggestions though, the welding mod wouldn't help much at all, if it didn't break the parts completely.
  6. Some posts have been edited or removed entirely. Remember folks, attack the argument, not the person.
  7. And just to throw another wobbly spanner into that mess, I think it will technically be KSP2 1.0 then, but I guess that depends on how they title it.
  8. ShadowZone quoted this in his recent video on the topic. There's a vehicle size for launch, but orbital construction seems to be unlimited. Without a product to test in hand, and we won't for about 18 months or so, it's really hard to say that it's ruined. And merging with the other thread on this topic.
  9. Sent up Val, docked, Transferred Bill and Bob over to the module with all it's parts, Jeb calling them wimps the whole time. Refueled the capsule, got my dV of how much was now in the Abort Stage. Made a node, lined it up, checked it... well only once to be honest. Fired the Abort sequence..... Not bad for a rescue mission. Edit: When I designed the Abort sequence, I never thought I'd have to use it as an Abort to Re-Entry, especially on the shakedown flight.
  10. Well....... shoot. After watching the launch and docking this weekend, I wanted to try to build a dragonesque capsule as I'm starting to build up my 1.9.1 game, and I needed a LKO crew ship. Behold the Wyvern. Room for 3, Enough dV to get to the Mun and back, and built in abort engines. Well..... as it turns out... I've been playing way too much Oxygen Not Included of late. I went to pause the game. Pause in ONI is spacebar. Oh.... oh .... oh no. OK, so I have about 300 dV left in the abort system, just about perfect to do a re-entry burn, right? Oh.... Well in the design phase, I thought it would be a good idea to have that fuel dumped at the last staging so the abort engines couldn't accidentally fire and completely mess up the re-entry. So Val has to go up and rescue the 3 amigos. I'll refuel the first one with abort propellant to see how that would work with an abort burn reentry.
  11. Patience. It's been 24 years since the issuance of the Ansari X Prize, and even then it seemed like a pipe dream. This is the one of the early steps of many to come in opening up space for the masses. One major setback would have doomed any of these projects. Look at Scaled Composites. This is the baby step time of the industry. We can't compare this process to the Apollo program, which was a wartime project with more effort than the Manhattan project. This will take time. Within 50 years the dream will be realized. I was looking for more specifics other than just a touch screen.
  12. Alright.... I'd go for one of those jackets @Delay. I wonder how bad the SpaceX PR department was screaming to hurry up so they didn't lose that beautiful lighting.
  13. I believe there's already a mod that lets you transform your smartphone into a touch screen control for KSP. I don't know how far along they got in development, but I know I had some interaction with them when they posted the OP. Don't remember the details though.
  14. Genuine question. Intuitively, the easiest way to pilot the craft would be with a stick, so what input style are they using?
  15. These are the KSP forums, no joking allowed! So the question has been raised. how does one pilot the capsule without a joystick? Does anybody know what they will be doing? Will they be furiously bashing the screens?
  16. I think it's kinda cool that they are using the Red and Green lights to indicate orientation. Same level of tech that sailing ships have used.
  17. I had watched a variety of shuttle launches as a kid, but my first memory of one was a cold Tuesday morning in 1986, I was home sick from school. Anyways..... Back to happier times..... I dunno if I'm more excited for the docking or for the launch! It's really cool when you get the ISS within physics range. I came late into the live stream, was there a lot of lag when it loaded?
  18. Yes, I'm enjoying it. There's a really good cast, Some good jokes, and the story lines are nice. But my god, do not expect the technical aspects to make any sense.
