  1. Yup, does two things: 1) elevates the keyboard to a more comfortable typing position. 2) will continue to blow cool air across your machine in case the main fan inside dies. It will also reduce the amount of time the main fan has to run, as the cooling pad will keep the machine a bit cooler than without.
  2. Since it's sitting on the ground, there shouldn't be a need for autostrutting. Go through and disable all the autostruts on the base and try again. Turn off SAS too. Report back.
  3. Sounds like you are running the 32 bit version of KSP instead of the 64 bit. But that lag is usually caused by the garbage collection process in Unity (I believe). There is a mod (memgraph) that helps with this issue.
  4. Since the game was not originally released on Steam, and it is also distributed on services that compete with Steam, there has been some pushback to offering steam-centric services.
  5. Welcome! You are now one of the afflicted, doughnuts and coffee are over there, please, find a seat and we'll begin shortly! Some pics of what you are doing might help us. Some parts will snap together nicely when they are placed inline with each other, some will snap to the outside of another part (radial). Start off with any command pod, and place that in the VAB. Then grab any fuel tank, and place that beneath the pod. Try to line up the green bubbles, and the parts should snap in place. If this doesn't work for you, then there might be something amiss. So when you are trying to place a part, hit f1 to take a screenshot, and then upload that to something like imgr. You can then post the picture here so we can help figure out the issue.
  6. Which pretty much describes our player base......
  7. I did the same thing for my 39 seat tourist bus. It was tumbling upon re-entry at bad times, so I slapped some airbrakes on it, and deploy them as needed. If they start to overheat, I just put some roll into the craft and the exposed ones turn away and the cold ones gets exposed. So it becomes a Kerbal Rotisserie.
  8. You hurt me deep cat.... deep.... not putting me on the list.... who are you again?
  9. I would love too, but I really suck at drawing. Stick figures are too hard. Plus my avatar is a custom bespoke one, and It would be an insult to the artist to deface it. Even though it would probably work well for it. I do look forward to seeing what all you guys do.
  10. Don't forget a rocket attached to the rover! That way you can zoom home!
  11. Well I feel silly, I thought your comment was responding to and not @Brikoleur. My bad. So yes, the near future (I believe) mod pack has landing legs that can be leveled. So yeah, this should be a stock thing.
  12. I've been to this site... but never saw the lander... gotta go back now.
  13. I believe it's the near future mods have gear that already do this.
  14. Take a look in the MKS threads, they might have encountered this before. But also, recover one of these vessels, and post up your Ksp.log, it might have some info we could use.
  15. Unless you have a specific goal in mind, ie recreation or mission specific design requirement, I think it's pretty pointless to have a multistage lander for low gravity bodies. I don't think it's worth the complexity and added part count for extra stages. There's also the whoops factor. If you miscalculate something, or need to burn extra fuel earlier in the mission, a multi stage lander will require you to abort back to orbit if you run dry on the landing stage. And don't argue that you can ditch your landing stage, land, and then return to orbit with just the ascent stage, if you could, you wouldn't have needed a multi stage craft in the first place. With a single stage lander, you will still be able to land and launch to orbit, where a rescue/mothership can come get you, without losing the mission goal. Note, I'm not arguing against stages that are staged away prior to landing. I do this often, a nice low TWR/ High ISP stage for transfers and de-orbital burns, which gets staged after completing the de-orbit burn, even if it has some fuel left in it. Let's me start my dV budget anew.
  16. You guys know we have a whole thread solely for complaining about bad science in science fiction right? I'm drawing a blank on what it's called though........
  17. And some info would be appreciated :D. In particular, the KSP.log. But, on a whim, when this happens, go to alt-F12, and clear your input locks.
  18. Just because it looks similar, doesn't mean it's the same. And those are not pics of Kevlar, but of a similar material. They were just using that to show it is a fiber/cloth, not a putty.
  19. FYP But back to your.... I guess your question... I got into the habit of never carrying saves over between versions. Back in the alpha days, it was guaranteed to break a save, so I never did. So just bite the bullet, and install the latest version as a separate install, and start a new game. The beginning of the game is pretty fun too....
  20. I personally haven't figured out the logic to how it selects which ship to stay focused on, but you can just hit [ or ] to cycle through vessels/objects in range.
  21. You also don't have to get it perfect, even at your mid course correction. Just get it close enough if that's the best you can do, and wait till you cross the SOI of the planet. Then you can immediately tweak your inclination if needed, and fine tune your periapsis.
  22. If this is disabled, all the Kerbals will be at five stars regardless of what you do. There's quite a few mods out there, instead of having us guess at which one it is, perhaps a clue would help us help you? And you'll probably find instructions on how to do exactly what you want in this mod's release thread here on the forum.
