Tutorial assistant AI called P.a.i.g.e
Gargamel replied to Vl3d's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
Since the original point of this thread was severely flawed, has been corrected, and has become a non issue now, I think we can let this go. -
Sorry, but we don’t allow chat threads. We have an entire forum full of already mindless threads about KSP2, we don’t need any more.

Change sizing abbreviations
Gargamel replied to Zozaf Kerman's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Technically, it should list any part containing an L, If they arbitrarily implement code to ignore single letter searches (which, granted, is a needed feature on most search boxes), then they can arbitrarily implement code to ignore all single letter searches except for ones that designate a size. When it encounters a search for a known size, it should immediately list only that size parts in that category. No reason they can’t do this, It would be “fairly trivial” to implement. -
First impression from Scott Manley's gameplay video.
Gargamel replied to Tweeker's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
Let’s keep the discussion focused on Scott’s video here. Thanks. -
Aight, seeing as there’s nothing really new in here beyond the first few posts, everything else has been discussed ad nauseum for years, we can direct those conversations to the appropriate threads.

Change sizing abbreviations
Gargamel replied to Zozaf Kerman's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Why not? There’s no limitation against searching for a single letter unless the devs arbitrarily restrict it. -
Not exactly. That was the title of the other thread. But I did choose to reflect the over all idea this is now the catch all “let’s make complaints about the ksp2 graphics” thread. When the game comes out and we’ve actually gotten to see the graphics firsthand, we can then start a new thread to complain about actual issues.
-
Overlapping threads complaining about graphics of KSP2, a game which none of us have played yet, have been merged. We don’t need more than one of these. And yes the title and OP got switched. This was intentional.

What leak? The embargo was lifted a few days before the release of the game, just like any other game for the past 20 years.
-
Or, we could, ya know, wait a few days to make any judgements. Very very few of us have seen the game. Aside from those privileged few, none of us knows what we’re talking about. We can wait till Friday don’t ya think?

*looks at ksp1* Yeah, I have faith that updates will come for some time. Even after PD/TTi acquired KSP, the updates kept coming.

Will it be possible to buy KSP 2 in Russia?
Gargamel replied to KSP_RAK's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
Given current, ummmm, global economic events of late, there has been some question on this. I’d prefer to be sure of the answer before making assurances to our fellow kerbonauts. -
Will it be possible to buy KSP 2 in Russia?
Gargamel replied to KSP_RAK's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
“Will it be possible to buy KSP 2 in Russia?” Outside of the international sub forums, please post in English or include a translation. Even Google translate would suffice. За пределами международных подфорумов размещайте сообщения на английском языке или добавляйте перевод. Даже гугл-переводчика было бы достаточно. I do not know the answer to your question though -
Should a new subforum be created for KSP 2 addons and addon development?
Gargamel replied to DAL59's topic in Kerbal Network
This is already in the works. -
ksp 2 specs
Gargamel replied to HoppyJR86's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Suggestions & Development Discussion
As the specs have been released, this thread is no longer relevant, and will be closed. Moderator note, merging this thread would make THIS op the op of any specs thread it's merged into, so we're not going to do that. -
I get the feeling the dev in charge of setting these requirements was not a fan of KSP previously, where learning to play under “seconds per frame” was common. True KSP fans are always surprised when they get reminded that the clock did have a green color. It’s a good thing we didn’t have members going around over the past year telling others their systems would be able to handle the new game.

One sentence you could say to annoy an entire fan base?
Gargamel replied to Fr8monkey's topic in Forum Games!
Sorry, that’s a typo, We meant February of 2024, Not February 24th. -

First, there are already free mods that utilize arduino and Pi to interface with KSP to make custom controllers for the game. These have been around for ~10 years or so, and numerous examples of them can be found here in the forums. Secondly, and most importantly, we don’t allow advertising of commercial products, which this would be, on the forums without prior approval from the CM’s As such, we will have to contact them before we can unlock this thread.

Remember this hype thread is about ksp2…. Other games belong in the lounge.

Growing up, one year I had a bus route that was 2 1/2 hours twice each day. And that was in a semi suburban area that also included a large swathe of rural. Rural area im currently moving away from, some bus rides are 1-2 Hours for these kids. And this is in the Eastern half of the US. Head out west and that route might break 100-150km. But those are edge cases. But I’m looking at those 70-80km ranges you listed, and yeah, those are completely unacceptable for any school bus route in the majority of the US. A lot of school systems tier their start times of their schools, so the elementary, middle and high schools start at different times of the day, reducing the number of buses required. The same bus and driver would do three pickup routes in the morning (easily 20-40km each, in my school district as a kid), then they might do some field trips during the schools day, and then do those three drop off routes in the evening again. There’s not enough time between each route to charge a bus up. So yeah, 80km is way short for the needs of an average American school bus.

@Arugela the formula works out to: 500(n(n+1)/2)+100 points will give you n-1 moves.
-
Yes that was exactly what I’m going with, thank you. I hadn’t dealt with piecewise functions in maybe 30 years, and so I knew they existed, I just didn’t know enough, even their name, to look them up. @Arugela, I had torn apart the pattern enough to find the underlying triangular sequence, but I really don’t know what I want to do with that info. The issue arises from the fact that even though this pattern extends to infinity, it will be nearly impossible in any practical sense to reach beyond the scope of that simple chart. Here’s the overall problem: There’s a stupid mobile game that has some duels, but they’re scoring it like capture points in TF2. So if I score x points in a single player game, I will receive Y moves towards the opponents base. If I click a multiplier button, I can gain upto triple the score, and more moves. But that involves watching an ad. So I’m trying to identify specific threshold points and zero’s where it is more beneficial to skip the multiplier and just play the next game as fast as possible or try for a higher score, based on the Expected value of the multiplier roll, and the assumed times for the ads and the next game, blended with the odds of scoring at least one move in that next game.
