  1. There’s a really really old thread around here somewhere where a user enabled unlimited fuel, launched a smallish rocket using the biggest engine at the time, and then just kept burning. For three months or so. Real time. They just left the computer and KSP running for that long. I forget what speed they reached, but it was quite high.
  2. I don’t know if I’m answering the question or making it worse, but some quick googling shows there are applications for applying electric charge to liquid hydrogen, so it might be feasible. But now we’re carrying a very large tank of fuel that has a heavy static charge on it. I can see just the static charge alone causing issues. Like rubbing a balloon on a very angry cat full of explosives.
  3. Thank you for all you’ve done for the community @linuxgurugamer! You’ve been a shining example for a number of our community.
  4. While that is a completely valid question, what difference does it make? The game will be the game they produce. What comes out of the studio on the 24th may only have a loose correlation to what has been previewed in past years. Projects change over time. Sacrifices and compromises have to be made. What gets released is what get released. The video gaming industry has been doing this for 40 years. Showing promotional stuff that builds hype, and then releasing a completely different product. This is not a new thing. If these types of differences would affect you purchasing the game or not, then it’s on the consumer to wait a couple days after release to confirm the features you desire are actually in the product you want. There are professional gamers out there who will do the initial purchase and review for you if this is the case. Otherwise, it’s buyer beware. I have no inside info on what or isn’t in the game. I’m just a fellow kerbinaut who is happily awaiting the release of a sequel of a favored game, without any expectations or prejudices. Edit: Not speaking as a moderator or with any association with PD/TTi/etc, just a fellow gamer.
  5. TBH, I really don’t care about the cosmetics. I’ll be happy when the gameplay mechanics are just right. Cosmetics are nice, but they’re not why I’m here.
  6. Silent Hunter 3, Boredom in the Atlantic. I think the stock time warp was capped to x64, the first thing you installed after installing the game was a mod to fix that. Otherwise the long 3-4 month patrols got very tiresome.
  7. Ummmm perhaps an example from YouTube or something might help clarify that.
  8. A number of posts have been moved here: Let’s keep this thread to the new arch and the related message.
  9. @Triop!!! Long time, welcome back! (And seeing as this isn’t specific to KSP, it’s been moved to the Lounge)
  10. A number of posts have been removed for being off topic. If you have a question about the game not relating to science, most likely it’s been answered or surmised in another thread. A search might help. If you can’t find an answer then, go ahead and start a new thread. And please, don’t unnecessarily ping the devs or CM’s.
  11. The problem with that is there is too much error. The extra 10%/20% adds up quickly. It’s not like where you can easily do 1 inch = 25mm and 6 inches is 150mm or 60 inches is 1.5m, where the % error is small enough that unless you need a precise conversion, 25-1 is good enough in most cases. With mass, doing 2.2-1 in my head is easy enough, especially with practice after years of being a paramedic. Take a persons weight in pounds, divide by 2, subtract 10%. Boom kilos. And to go the other way, add 10%, multiply by 2, and pounds. Still a bit of error, but close enough.
  12. While still waiting for clarification on @Deddly’s question, I’ll preemptively answer one form of your question. Threads need a specific topic. We do not allow general chat threads. Yes, we do have some threads that have very broad topics, and some off topic wandering is to be expected as long as it returns to the main topic soon enough. We also have very narrow topics that we keep to that topic fairly rigorously, ex we try to keep SpaceX separate from Starlink. If you’re looking to start a non focused thread without an over riding topic, that’s what we have the IRC for.
  13. So my girlfriend is on a business trip to Florida, north of Miami, and shortly after arriving at her hotel yesterday, she walked out to the beach to watch the FH launch. And honestly, she caught some of the best handheld, amateur phone video you can ever expect to see of the launch. She said she watched it all the way to the boosters landing, so I think the video got cut off when she texted it to me.
  14. Any chance we could get answers to our questions then? We have been asking for almost a year Your guess is as good as mine. I don’t work for PD.
  15. Some off topic content has been removed. This thread is about KSP-EE, if you’d like to discuss other games, take it to the lounge.
  16. Yup, that’s not very random is it? But, I’m always getting the Polish page for one of the probe cores.
