  1. Moved to tech support modded Without logs or which mods you loaded, it’s kinda difficult to answer the question.
  2. Guys…. This is the hype train. I’m not sure what we’re hyping either, but take the general discussion and criticisms to someplace else.
  3. Moved to mod talk. Have you tried asking in the mod thread?
  4. Having just found a pack of most of the expansions for Firefly: The Game, I’m in no financial condition to delve into anything else deep right now. I still have to print out box organizers for the major 4 expansions I got, with room for the fifth major one and maybe a 6th or 7th additional bling style add on. Then I have to do something with the extra base game that came in the pack. Most likely I’ll “donate” it to the cafe mentioned above for an annual membership and a bar tab. As a game alone, it’s okay. But as a fan of the show, it just tickles me pink.
  5. Please include an English translation for all posts outside of the "International" subforum. Thank you. Пожалуйста, включите перевод на английский язык для всех сообщений вне подфорума "International". Спасибо.
  6. Moved to Mod discussion. What you’re looking for is MSFS, but with a plane editor. BUT, with a combination of mods, you should be able to accomplish some of your goal. Those who know the details should be along shortly to answer.
  7. Glad you pointed it out though. Might want to check the age of a mod and see if there’s a more current version first.
  8. Are you playing a career game? Have you unlocked the missing parts yet? And illegal. It’s specifically forbidden by the EULA, and discussion of such is not allowed on the forums. Welcome to the forums! But honestly, if you have it through steam, there’s no reason to get your game data folder from any other source. Since you’ve mucked up the folders, trying another file verification through steam might trigger the correct backups. If that doesn’t work, I’d just backup your saves, wipe the whole thing clean, and reinstall. If that still doesn’t work, there’s something weird going on, we’ll need to see some log files as per the sticky at the top of the forum.
  9. Yeah, the more I think about it, the more practical this seems. Not only will the digging capacity be at least comparable to a bagger system, relatively speaking, but the baggers are the largest land vehicles ever made by man. On earth, with the entirety of modern industrial society available to help. Building anything similar on Mars, in Situ or not, is a completely ridiculous notion. Not saying a big digger is a bad idea, just anything _that_ big. But the Long Wall will give you similar constant capacity, the infrastructure would be identical in some areas (The long conveyor) , and a couple orders of magnitude less in others (the actual cutter head). Plus the long wall can be setup to do bedrock while a bagger can only do loose material.
  10. I like the valley idea, but I don’t think it’s necessary. First off, the machinery would have to be made in situ as you say. As someone who makes such machinery, I can tell you that a single gear from these machines can weigh in excess of 700kg each. It just wouldn’t be practical to launch one of these dump trucks in that manny launches. And they’d have to be designed from the ground up, by a consortium of engineers from multiple disciplines, basing a design around earth bound equipment probably wouldn’t be suitable for mars. Secondly, I don’t think big diggers and earth movers are the way to go. Too many individual machines, too many people. We’d probably be best looking at a surface adaptation of a Long Wall System. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longwall_mining Adapat the design to be surface run, have it take a 5m slice off the face, run that down 10km or so, take a step forward, repeat. All the rubble gets removed via long conveyor. This whole thing could run off a single nuclear reactor instead of the dozens that dump truck system would entail. Not sure how wide the valley is, might need to make a few passes or add a couple walls to make it work. This would reduced personnel significantly and increased uptime of the system. But do we really need to dig? We’re going to need a “dome” anyways, so why not just construct one using the walls of the valley and build the city in there? It’ll get most of the elevation drop you want.
  11. I can ignore the Ansible, as it’s somewhat grounded in theoretical physics, or at least when he wrote it. I actually enjoyed the following books. Some were a little weird, but over all ok.
  12. You mean……. LIKE THIS?!?! https://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/topic/116374-104-scott-manley-head-pack/
  13. Most likely in a room somewhere. We highly doubt they would have survived this long out in a field unattended.
  14. @TheSaint, well, the infection is now terminal, we have added/changed multiple pieces of furniture based on the hobby. Let me add to your list a bit, and they’re all wonderful, most are still on my to do lists, I’ve just been distracted by other games. Lost Cities and Air, Land, Sea are two amazingly wonderful 2 player competitive card games. They’re both easy to set up, simple rules, and fast play, but deep strategy. Deep Sea Adventure by Oink! games. Fun little family push your luck game with a surprisingly bit of required strategy. Lacuna. This is a semi new release. It’s cute and fancy and shiny and as you start the first game that’s all you think it is. By the third game you’re walking around the table like you’re trying to line up a championship winning putt, chain smoking to settle your nerves, as the depth of the strategy and cunning required to play this game sets in. This is just a beautifully executed abstract game. It’s just got the right feel to it. TBC…
  15. The original is fairly easy to find, but last time I checked, the sequels were insanely difficult to get, even e book. The problem was iirc, the two later stories were unpublished till after his death, and then on extremely limited runs. When I picked up the collected series a bit back, I had to get it out of a second hand store in rural Alaska who happened to list their books on line. But it has been a slight bit since I looked.
  16. Water found in Mars https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/czxl849j77ko
  17. And since it’s a good idea to split this off into it’s own thread, it has been done.
  18. Nah, I’d say the Fuzzies in Little Fuzzy (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Fuzzy) by Piper. Then reimagined by Scalzi recently. The original is rare, but findable, but the sequels are near impossible to find. The Scalzi is pretty good too, and much easier to find these days.
