Is There's A Way to Input ImgBB Albums into my KerbalX Craft?
Gargamel replied to MYKori_Rosales's topic in Kerbal Network
You’re asking two different questions here. 1) the forums require a direct link. 2) To place an image on your craft in game, you can use a custom flag, or change the texture packs to create a new texture on your craft. I don’t do either of these, and you’re best off asking in the appropriate game discussion forum regarding this. -
A type 3 civ wouldn't need a SETI program, as would we would think of it: A) They're already made up of a number of various races within their own galaxy already, so they would just assume that, on average, each galaxy would have a similar distribution, and they'll get to them when they get to them. They then progress to B or C. B) They're alone, and the distances are too vast to attempt any sort of communication, with any hope of the other party even receiving their message during the existence of the sender's civilization, making the whole idea of attempting to communicate moot. Even the foot print of their civilization would take so long to travel across intergalactic space, that it would be useless to the "sending" civ. C) They can travel over those distances, but cannot communicate over them in a form that is receivable by a random party. This would then require the establishments of colonies and outposts in other galaxies to coordinate their own local SETI program, and report back. So in summary, space is big, and once you reach a galactic scale, it's _very_ difficult to take that next step. Any SETI program that would exist for these guys would not be even recognizable as a SETI program to us.

Same thing. The forum requires a .png/.jpg/etc to link a picture. -

Moved to the network. Imgur doesn’t support albums anymore, you just need to post the link to the image itself directly. Ie whatever link ends in .png/jpg. -

Are you trying to post pictures to the forums, or into/onto the craft in the game itself? -

Having problems refueling the starship
Gargamel replied to BarryAstroo's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Moved to gameplay questions. While this is normally reserved for unmodded games, it does bring up a good point. One of the joys of KSP is screwing up and being able to engineer a solution that works. You could add a mod that changes the fuel or fuel levels, or you could use the cheat menu to add fuel, but where’s the fun in that? I’m not sure what your actual issue is, as most mods that I know of that add fuels usually add them to the ISRO parts too. But apparently you can’t make methane. Then send some! Build another ship that will ferry the fuel you need to Duna. Or probably better yet, send a nearly identical ship, but with different engines this time. But I’d say the best solution would be to find a mod that adds the correct fuels you need to the ISRU parts and that way you have it as designed, and didn’t “cheat”. -
I think part B of your post is answer to part A. I don’t think modders have to worry about update issues for the foreseeable future. It’s not like we didn’t spend the first 6, 7? Years of the game fully expecting lost saves and broken mods every 4-8 months. In comparison, we have now entered a long period of extreme stability.

Suggestion: I know the various groups are waiting to see if the forums actually go down before making their version of the site go live. Why spend the money if it’s not needed right? I’m working under the assumption that the backups created do not have access to any critical user data that could be used for identity verification; and These backups would be dead archived threads that would be referenced, but not interacted with. If this is the case, if any of the teams undertaking the task have the infrastructure available, I would suggest going live in early September or so. Not for moving traffic over there now, but to allow users to create accounts and verify they are who they claim to be by posting over here. Each new site would start their own thread here, and each user here would post a link to their new account on the new site. This would prevent name grabbing on the new sites, and allow for a smoother transition, if needed. A couple major downsides to this: Launching a new site costs money out of pocket, and if this site doesn’t go down, that won’t be recovered. It’s not allowed right now for gofundme type posts here on the forums, but we can discuss it internally with the moderator team if some allowances could be made. But until stated explicitly, assume not. The other is the fracturing of the community with competing sites. This is bad, very bad. Perhaps only going partially live on each site to only allow “Hey I’m here type posts” until it becomes an obvious necessity. We stick with this one until we have to give the abandon ship order, which may never come. After that, well, it’s Darwinism then. — This post is not made as moderator, just a concerned community member. I have not discussed any of this with the team, and nothing I’ve said should imply the rest of the team condones any of it. —

Might want to pop into and share that with them. Having a backup of the wiki is wonderful. It probably needs migrated to something we have more control over anyways. One of the fan based, ad driven sites perhaps.

[1.8 - 1.12] KSPCommunityFixes - Bugfixes and QoL tweaks
Gargamel replied to Gotmachine's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Please do not crosspost the same question in multiple locations, it leads to fractured conversations and confusion. Do not expect immediate answers. When somebody has an answer, they’ll post it. Meanwhile, check the mod thread OP for directions on getting help if it’s there, and check the “HOW TO GET HELP” Sticky under the tech support pages. There’s a lot of self diagnosing that could happen. -
S&Sf crew; fallback forum community?

Yes, I started doing some rough math based on winning the Powerball lottery too. -
Why won't my Kerbal pilot the ship?

Seeing as this is most likely about KSP1, it’s been moved to Gameplay Questions. -

Gargamel replied to Gotmachine's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
@major_1129, I’ve merged your two posts into one. It’s best, if you have a question about a mod, to post in that mods thread first. And please, outside of the “international” sub-forums, include an English translation. Thank you. ,我把你的两篇帖子合并为一篇了。如果你对某个 mod 有疑问,最好先在该 mods 主题中发帖。并且,请在“国际”子论坛之外附上英文翻译。谢谢。 -
S&Sf crew; fallback forum community?
Gargamel replied to JoeSchmuckatelli's topic in Science & Spaceflight
I doubt they’ll sell it off piecemeal, I read somewhere (Matt Lowne video perhaps?) that Paradox approached TTi to buy the IP, and the asking price of IIRC $72m was a bit steep. There are plans afoot, as described in a thread in the network section, to have backup in place in case the worst does happen. But until we hear otherwise, assume the forums will be here for the long haul. But it also doesn’t hurt to be prepared. Having an S&S discord at the ready wouldn’t be a bad idea, even when the forum does stay up, having that nifty side chat to blab on about watching launches together, or complain about Orion drives, might be kinda fun.
