Aha. We said the same thing in different ways. Though FWIW I don't think anybody who wants "axial tilt" wants anything other than "axial tilt independent of orbital tilt."
-
Well yeah, but I also didn't know they had names, like how ships have names. Is it the title of the plaque you typed when you planted it? I'd guess you can do it in the tracking center, like @Slam_Jones suggested. It's a bit esoteric but you select the flag, then the |i|nfo icon, then click (or right click, don't remember) the name at the top. It's got an orange background.

how you remember all those action group does?
Superfluous J replied to omelaw's topic in KSP1 Discussion
True, but doesn't that also assume the emergency won't happen at certain altitudes and times? Isn't that just inviting them to happen at those exact times and places? -
Kerbin orbital rescue contracts.
Superfluous J replied to strider3's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
(Note, I've never taken one of these) Can't you use ] and [ to switch to the ship and then EVA the kerbal? Also, you may suddenly "take ownership" of it once you do that. Also, the Claw should work regardless. I'm assuming you're using an unmodded install, but the message is unknown to me so I just have to ask, do you have any mods that could change contracts or "owning" of parts? -
It is? I haven't checked in a (long) while and no planet in KSP is in an orbit tilted enough to stand out, but I always thought all north poles were tangential to each other regardless of orbit tilt. Also, doesn't RSS use this fact to "fake" Earth's tilt? If axial tilt followed orbital tilt, tilting the entire solar system 23 degrees would just cause Kerbin to tilt alongside it.

Any use of just atmospheric planes?
Superfluous J replied to RandomGuy1824's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Atmospheric planes have the exact same use as rockets. They allow you to explore part of the game. -

If you arm a chute moving 250m/s or less, don't they open? I'll admit I never use the abort tower and instead revert. -

I just don't use them. All Y'All handles 99% of what I'd use them for ascend the rest I'd forget anyway. The only exception is odd things with multiple engine configurations but I almost never make those. -
Ad-hominem attack aside, you realize one of the people you called either a fanboy or unwilling to think the problem through designed the part you're complaining about? For what it's worth, I agree with your basic idea that the small ISRU parts aren't worth using unless you literally don't care how long it's going to take. I always care about that, so will never use them again unless they're tweaked to be a bit less time- and resource-intensive. I accept though that it was designed this way for a purpose and not herp-a-derped together by a four year old who didn't know the difference between a / and a *

@Enceos so did the Apple//c version. I drew hundreds of levels on graph paper while at school and then brought them home to input them into the game, and then make my friends play. Good times.

If your axis tilts more than 4 degrees please consult your doctor.

Explore the Mun
Superfluous J replied to liquidmetalrob's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
It'll say if it has to be from the surface. I thought it said if it didn't too or at least implied it. "From Mun's Sphere of Influence" or something like that. But anyway, if it wants it from something more specific, it'll say so. -
[1.12] Extraplanetary Launchpads v6.99.3
Superfluous J replied to taniwha's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Hmm I think I remember that now. I've not used EL for a while. However, I've used it over the past few weeks and didn't know anything about scrap metal, yet am building ships fine (though I suppose slightly less efficiently). And now that I know that Scrap Metal is being wasted, I still have no desire to utilize it. I'll just live with the waste, or mod it away, rather than deal with an extra resource. Do not get me wrong, I'm not actually trying to convince you of anything merely speaking my opinion on the matter. And my problem with extra resources isn't with you, it's with Squad not allowing us to swap what resources the tanks hold which means frequently we need 2-5 times the number of tanks I think you should need, clogging up the VAB. -
Adding to the right-click menu on other craft
Superfluous J replied to Superfluous J's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Possibly. I don't see in the configs where it's set on those parts but I am by no means an expert (hence the question ). I'll play around with that tonight thanks! -
[1.12] Extraplanetary Launchpads v6.99.3
Superfluous J replied to taniwha's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I am pretty much diametrically opposed to anything that adds a resource. If you could build rockets out of Ore I'd be happy. Well okay maybe not Ore, but metal without the need to convert to RocketParts first. Or be able to convert ore directly into RocketParts. -
Is there a stock part you never actually use?
Superfluous J replied to Sharpy's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Never used the Micronode other than playing with it to see if it was worth anything. It wasn't. Never used the puff engine. Barely used any RCS anything since the Verniers came out. I almost never use the big structural plates either. I use most engines fairly regularly, but the ant and its radial cousin are see VERY rare use. Before 1.2 the Science Lab (the big 2-person lab) was on that list, but now it can train Kerbals so I am tending to bring one to each planet. -
First Played: Pong. On a device built specifically to play Pong. Yes, I'm that old. First Loved: Adventure, on the Atari. Fantastic game. I've played a clone of it recently and it actually holds up well. And I still remember all the mazes. First Purchased: Harder to say. May have been Flight Simulator some time around 1984 or so, or Lode Runner. I had both of those early in my Apple //c days. First IBM-compatible Purchase: A pair, as I bought them the same day I bought my first IBM clone. Wolfenstien 3D and Doom 2. I beat the former and cheated to win the latter after who knows how long on the last level. First Online Purchase: Stars! (Exclamation mark is part of the name) I played this one so much I can't play 4X games anymore. First Console Purchase: Star Wars Pod Racing. I bought it bundled with my first console (Atari doesn't count as the parents bought that and all the games for it), a Nintendo 64.

When you right-click a docking port on another ship, you can set it as the target. If you right click anything, you can center the camera on it now. How would I in code add to that menu? If you're curious, I'm thinking something akin to Extraplanetary Launchpad's recycle bin, only it works just from right clicking the other craft and saying "recycle"

When you have an "or" in logic then the statement is true if either thing you're "or"ing is true. Adding the "either" implies that only one of the two can be true, but I'm not sure if that's actually a logical constraint. But let's assume it is because hey language and stuff. It's what I assumed above. So, if James did it it's true, and if none of them did it it's true. If James did it AND none of them did it it'd be false, and if James didn't do it but someone else did it's also false.

I figured out why Leia was at Tatooine! They took the blockade runner to a chop shop to get a new VIN plate.

I'm getting sick of this mid-February weather. Makes me a bit worried about what February will actually be like.
-
I think of it more as "everyone who wants to be able to use random ships people upload to ship websites can use it." I really doubt there are many RO/RSS players out there who didn't know what they were getting into when it comes to being able to use stock ships.

Whats Your Cash Cow in Career Games?
Superfluous J replied to DocMoriarty's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Satellites, probably. Take 5 contracts and complete them all with one satellite. And similarly, take as many base contracts as you can when sending Kerbals somewhere.
