I don't use docking mode but I did click it by accident several times just last night. My throttle never went to anything from 0 and I never disable my engines. I use Enhanced Navball to slide the navball over, and it was a little too far to the left and the "hold target" button was almost totally covered by the docking mode button. Instead of moving the navball slightly to the right I spent all night clicking the little sliver that was visible. And sometimes I would click the docking button instead I say install this mod and run a test, instead of just not installing it. It's one of the first mods I install on a new build and when I forget, none of my rockets launch because their effective TWR is 0.8 and I can't figure out why when KER says they should be 1.6.

Squadcast Summary (24/01/2015) - The Valentina Edition

I doubt this page's veracity. Under "Features and Benefits" it doesn't even mention "You'll have the awesomest, coolest, most medieval-weaponest looking rocket EVAR" -

Any chance we could get a little icon (Ideally on the stock or Blizzy toolbar) that flashes or turns red when you get to a certain level of neraness to crash time? 95% or so seems reasonable, or maybe even user-settable. I know what's using the memory, and can't do anything about it but restart when it gets full.

How to calculate how much DV you need?
Superfluous J replied to DuartePires's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
YOu're reading them wrong. The arrow above "Moho Tranfer" does not mean you can aerobrake to Moho coming from Low Sun Orbit. It's saying that you COULD eliminate all of that fuel need by aerobraking if you were coming back from Low Sun Orbit to KERBIN. So if you were in low Sun orbit, it takes 26,820 to raise your apoapsis to Kerbin's orbit. Then it takes 5150 to raise your periapsis to Moho's orbit, 670 more to raise it to Eve's orbit, and 90 more to raise it to Kerbin's orbit at which point you'd be at the same orbit as Kerbin. However, once you get your apoapsis up to Kerbin's orbit, a smart and skillful player can actually hit Kerbin and erase that nearly 6,000 dV in a harrowing but completely safe aerobraking trajectory. Preferably straight down onto the Helipad on top of the VAB -
I learned at least 2 different ways to NOT fly a winged asteroid. Sadly, one of those ways is "with jets" Back to gliding and trying to use a Mun encounter and the Trajectories mod to nail the runway. Incidentally, the 2nd way is "with the tailfins attached to the wings." In hindsight it's obvious that the fins would cause massive torque in the wings. And right after saying this I think I figured out a way to have jets AND tailfins. Drawing board, watch out!

None of the above. I plan my missions to not leave debris in stable orbits. All debris that is not in a stable orbit (Intersects atmosphere or the planet it's orbiting, will eventually change SOIs, or is landed somewhere) is free to delete. Everything else is a mistake I made and I deal with it in-game by sending out a tug to put it into some such orbit that will cause it to be deletable. Granted, I'll leave stuff up for years before dealing with it but I will *not* delete it. But I almost never use sepratrons, and would never turn the debris slider down.

I don't see why getting a Kerbal with the name and profession you want should cost anything, considering getting one from the Astronaut Complex is also free. The rest sounds fine, though because I don't want to muck about with all that jazz in Extraplanetary Launchpads I edit every single Kerbal I have so their stupidity is 0.

How have you abused the KSP aero model?
Superfluous J replied to SubzeroSpartan7's topic in KSP1 Discussion
That's nothing. I took this (well, the stuff I didn't drop on ascent) to Jool. It was for my own personal Jool-5 mission where I had to return something from every situation (So I'd get credit for returning a ship "landed on Tylo" and "Tylo Orbit" etc for all 5 moons and Jool itself. -
Nailing an encounter (or at least a very near encounter that will require minimal tweaking via a mid course correction) with another world via a maneuver node in LKO is an essential skill in the game. It's as hard - and as rewarding - as all the other essential skills like rendezvous, docking, landing, etc.

I've been more busy than usual as of late, but I've been paying a decent amount of attention and don't remember a detailing of the new stock system. Do you have a link or could you briefly describe it? Personally I don't mind the "magic" aspect that riles up others. It's an abstraction. You're not mining "Karbonite" and magically running it through a converter. You're the boss and the actual workers are doing the actual work and just telling you how much they got. My only bone of contention (and it's a small enough one that it doesn't bug me) is that you can get LF and O from the same source. I'd like to have to mine LF somewhere, and mine O somewhere ELSE. Then transport them to a central location (your station, or transport one resource to the other mine) to use. And yes, I didn't say you'd need to mine something else and convert that to LF or O. Just mine the LF or the O. How could this be? Converting is done on site. Saves a resource and the need for 37 tanks of various sizes to hold it. It's all about abstracting. The scanner didn't say there was a concentration of 0.05 LF there. Your expert told you that the concentrations there would allow the system to convert the local resources to LF at 0.05 efficiency.

Haha all of these remind me of another bad joke. I just can't stop. What was the hipster dog's favorite sound? Dog whistle. You've probably never heard it. -
[1.3.0] Kerbal Engineer Redux 1.1.3.0 (2017-05-28)
Superfluous J replied to cybutek's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I'm sorry I seem to have led you down a rabbit hole. I was thinking of Alarm Clock. I just checked and no, it does not appear KER has Blizzy support which is sad. Though really it's one of the least often clicked buttons for me (which of course means it's a perfect candidate for Blizzy's Toolbar so you could hide it). -
Struts are typically bars. Like the struts in the game that we all use far too many of. Boxy assemblages of bars with cross beams so that they have structural integrity in directions other than forward and back have a name. It's truss. Also? It'd be less confusing for new people if the trusses in the game were at LEAST named similarly. At least the other two are called "Modular Girder Segment"s and not struts. Though we already have things in the game called Girders and while they serve a similar purpose they have very different appearances. This kind of junk was okay when Squad was futzing around in Early Access, but they're about to release the game and these (and a thousand other little problems) are the things that make the game roughshod and confusing. EDIT: I checked and girders aren't named "girder." They're named I-Beam which is fine. At least they're ALL named I-Beam. I'm surprised the smallest one isn't named "Capsule Girder Dodecahedron"

I'm going to refer to them as "Kerbals."

Every single aspect of the game except destructible buildings. /I keed, but really most everything had been done by some mod or other in some way or other by the time Squad implemented it. This is not good or bad, it's simply a consequence of a very active modding community and a fairly slow dev cycle.
-
Why? It's their last name, not some sort of gender identifier. Though I suppose that would explain why everybody up to now has that last name.
