  1. Wrong. It's a mostly unfinished product. They even tell us so. When it gets the exploration update, then it will be mostly finished.
  2. They used to have their own category. When did that change? Also, it's not trolling. Trolling entails that they don't plan to release KSP 2.
  3. So, I don't know if I've just been blind or if I'm just missing them... but has anyone else noticed that there are NO content creators on the Intercept Games Discord lately? Like they're staying offline... This might be me just jumping to conclusions or whatever, but I think they all might be filming KSP 2 videos now.
  4. If it was the "best guarded secret" we wouldn't know about it until the day of EA or Release. Of course there are NDA users lurking about, Beta Keys were, possibly, distributed as early as August of last year. Every sneak peek, feature video, etc. they have done is them marketing the game, they just aren't marketing it to the masses, they're marketing it to people who love KSP 1 and to people who might buy it in EA.
  5. Starboard truss launched by Saturn X-2A. Port truss launched by Saturn X-2B. The X-2B takes out the S-II (It's not needed) and also gives the Aardvark the AJ-10-137 instead of the LM ascent engine. . Full album: Imgur: The magic of the Internet
  6. IIRC, it's a preselect amount of colors. We can't type in hex/RGB codes, but I do believe someone asked Nate about a Hex code selector and he said they would look into it. As we have not seen the color selector for parts since it was shown off, I doubt the hex/rgb code value box has been added. Hopefully it is. I would love to have access to all 16 million colors.
  7. They should be releasing the specs soon, along with the time of release for EA.
  8. In about an hour, we will be less than 19 days away from KSP 2 EA!
  9. Would you rather them wow you now or at launch of EA? Personally, I want them to keep using sub-par graphics for their screenshots. I want to experience the max settings for myself.
  10. People will explore with movie style graphics or voxel style pixels. Most people don't care about graphics, they care about gameplay. Look at the Earth Defense Force franchise. This B-movie style game is loved by all, or at least most, who play it. It doesn't have the best graphics in the world. Actually, it still looks like a late PS2 early PS3 game, but people love it because it's fun. It has the simplest concept in the world. Shoot the bad guys. There are no fancy missions, no top-of-the-line graphics and only until recently did it get an actual story behind it. It's all just shoot the bugs and aliens. That's it. Every mission is kind of the same too, safe for a few boss battles sprinkled in. But still, it is loved. As for new/improved game mechanics, do you really want to be spoiled before launch, so you have nothing to explore for yourself? We are 19 days away. 19! I don't know about you, but I'm fine with them not showing anything major. I want to see for myself all the new mechanics and planetary features. (end of reply) Also, I'd just like to point out something that everyone seems to keep forgetting... ahem... !!!KSP 2 IS EARLY ACCESS!!! Seriously, everyone complaining about "The clouds don't look right" or "The graphics suck." or "Feature X, Y or Z doesn't look right!" is kind of getting a little annoying. It's early access guys. Things will improve. The game is not complete. It is not ready for prime time. Their MAIN focus right now is to get KSP 2 into a playable state so that they can test the under the hood coding and mechanics. A lot of stuff is not important to them right now. Play the game, send in bug reports, send in feedback, make suggestions. That's how you improve the game. Do that in 19 days.
  11. In about 4 hours and 50 mins, we will be less than 20 days from release. (Assuming a 12pm cst release time) Really wish they would hurry up with that release timeline info.
  12. I doubt most people play on a notebook.
  13. In your mind is it more likely that he upgraded his PC before release to make KSP 2 videos for his 1.55 million subscribers on Medium/High FPS or Low FPS? See, any argument can be made the same way you just asked that question. He could have upgraded for the FPS and not the graphics. I mean, according to you, he went for single core performance, which will help him with high part count. Ultra settings aren't the end all be all of gaming. Some people care more for FPS than they do graphics. Hell, there are people out there that go in and edit the graphics settings in the actual code to make the game look as terrible as possible, but to get the most FPS so they can have a competitive edge on the competition. With KSP 2, it will probably be the same way, safe for the competition part. Some people will want their 1000 part ship to run at least playable 25 FPS. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a KSP 2 video that looks like a Nintendo 64 game.
  14. You can't be sure of that, unless you talk to him yourself. Not everyone plays with maxed out graphics. Some people like the middle ground so they can get performance and a little bit of beauty. None of us know where Scott falls on the spectrum. Also, have you considered that we might not be able to play with maxed out settings? Perhaps Intercept has future proofed KSP 2 for the graphics cards that will be coming out in the next generation or two. Look at Crisis, it took forever for hardware to be able to run that game. The meme isn't just a meme. It's truth. Crisis was a very graphically intense game for the time.
  15. They actually said that KSP 2 will be even more moddable than KSP 1, not just the same level. Nope. No code from the original has been used. Nate and others have explicitly said that KSP 2 is being built from the ground up. New code, new engine (Well, still unity, but I also heard they are building their own game engine beside it to handle some stuff better), etc. Exisiting mods will NOT be compatible with KSP 2. You won't be able to drop KSP 1 mods into KSP 2's gamedata folder (If it still uses the gamedata structure) and expect them to work. Mods will have to be rewritten or reworked. Especially parts mods since KSP 2 uses PBR textures and none of the KSP 1 part mods use PBR. That should be too hard to do though. As for plugins, it's a completely rewrite of the codebase. I don't expect 'minimal' work when it comes to them. The whole plugin might have to be rewritten. Part mods will have to be reworked. Models would need to be updated to use PBR textures. Not sure if the same models can be used or if they will have to be rebuilt, but it's going to be a little bit of work to be sure.
  16. IDK what you're talking about, looks fine to me. If you're talking about how it 'spasms' they do that a little at high speed until they slow down.
  17. Right. I only play modded KSP, and there's like 400 relay antennas in my part list and only like 25 directs. Kind of forget about stock parts original stats.
  18. It's a very niche part, even in fully stock KSP. No real reason to use it really. I mean, there's very limited use cases for it, imo.
  19. From top to bottom the parts of the probe are: Mk16 parachute FL-A10 Adapter RC-001S Remote Guidance Unit (As mentioned by RealKerbal3x) I just realized, you can build this entire probe lander in KSP 1. I also just realized, the Communtron HG-55 relays are a lot smaller than their KSP 1 counter parts.
  20. No, I'm pretty sure those two are some the key points. Especially performance. Nate has said it before, they're going to allow for big ships. Really big ships. The kind of stuff that in KSP 1 made you measure in seconds per frame instead of frames per second. And interesting places on planets has been a focus of Intercept. They have literally been talking about "Exploration" in almost every feature video. They even dedicated an entire video to planet creation!
  21. To be fair, this is a recent showing of the cloud system. The earlier showings were confirmed to be months old. Like October, November, possibly early December. This one might be a January build, but I doubt it since everything else has been months old. If I had to guess, the eve descent is early to mid December.
  22. I can't tell if you're joking or not. Edit: I'm going to go ahead and say, that's not a cloud. Well, it is, but it's an explosive cloud and not an atmospheric cloud, aka, an explosion effect. It's not volumetric, it's pre-rendered.
  23. Not a closed beta, no, but it is an open beta bug hunt.
