  1. Done. Could use another option for education, if “some post-secondary” is available. Many have started university but not finished *whistles innocently*
  2. One of the most entertaining forms of air and noise pollution there is!
  3. Yeah, whether or not a bullet pierces the silk-reinforced skin, it's gonna leave one heckuva mark, if not fractured skulls, etc
  4. If you’re in class, perhaps you should be paying attention or doing some schoolwork instead of fiddling with your phone device on the forums. Just sayin....
  5. Monday. Ugh. The first five days after the weekend are the worst
  6. That ‘junk’ DNA could be where the instinctive memories are coded. Instincts have to be coded somewhere.
  7. At this point, it seems like launch vehicles aren't a problem. The winner will be whoever come up with a lunar lander. And since Starship is designed to land and be refuelled (not necessarily in that order) that gives SpaceX an edge, if it works as planned
  8. I generally refer to that sort of coffee as “hi-octane,” “rocket fuel,” or “Wake the Dead” coffee. As in, if it doesn’t wake you up, you’re dead
  9. Same thing here The phrase “We are currently experiencing technical difficulties. Please do not adjust your set.” springs to mind
  10. We had a Keurig, it was ok for a small cup, but too weak for the big mug I prefer. The cost of the pods was ridiculous to me, and the refillable pod was too much hassle. We went back to a classic drip maker. We once had a pot with the thermal carafe, but never did see just how long it would stay drinkable. I think that machine broke down. Not sure what happened to the carafe. Nowadays, I get up and pour three cups from the drip machine (B&D I think): my morning mug and two Thermos travel mugs; one for my coffee break and one for my wife when she gets up 2-3 hours later. (I get up at 310 am to be at work for 450). Those Thermos mugs are great, which they should be cuz they’re not cheap
  11. So, they could light that candle at any time, and I’m stuck at work. The stream would make good background on a Saturday morning....
  12. I wonder what they did with the tooling/mandrel piece. Could they still use it to wrap stainless steel sheets around? the “S.S.” in “S.S. Heart of Gold” has new meaning from the old days...
  13. At least SpaceX is using the PBR shaders for that nice shiny look. IMO that’s all the RockoMax swimming pool / oil drum tanks needed. They really need to get some “Jeb’s Junkyard” stickers for the F9 grid fins and landing legs.
  14. How full will it be for the first flights? Did they put any baffles in those tanks?
  15. Edit (like shooting fish in a barrel. I meant to make this weeks ago)
  16. We bought an '05 travel trailer at the end of January. Just got it back from having the roof and stuff resealed. Got a call today from the storage lot that the front end was hit by the SUV limo that parks behind it, peeling back the front panel and breaking the hitch lock. The foot of the jack was dragged a good foot sideways, and is now two inches under the gravel. Hope it can get fixed quickly, as we intended to go "camping" (back-country campers would laugh at what we call camping) at the end of spring break.
  17. I think that's the first time I've seen a DIV fly with SRBs....
  18. Well, skins are a form of mods, available on MC for ages. And Workshop functions and products would be vetted to ensure that it can't possibly be used to exploit or hack the console.
  19. At which point I shut them down in pairs, or the center engine. That 9-Vector cluster makes for a fabulous (and fabulously expensive) booster. But yeah, if I need more than one Rhino on a single core then it's a vector cluster.

I hate to spoil it when the 9 thread has 9 replies, but I feel the need to post the list of Vancouver Canucks hockey players who have worn number 9: Ed Hatoum 1971 Dale Tallon 1972-1973 Don Lever 1974-1980 Ivan Boldirev 1980-1983 Tony Tanti 1983-1990 Andrew McBain 1990-1991 Ryan Walter 1992-1993 Gary Leeman 1995 Russ Courtnall 1995-1997 Brad May 1998-2000 Lubomir Vaic 1998 Mike Stapleton 2001 Harold Druken 2002-2003 Mike Keane 2004 Taylor Pyatt 2007-2009 Zack Kassian 2012-2015 Cody Hodgson 2012 Brandon Prust 2016 Jack Skille 2017 Brendan Leipsic 2019
  21. In the VAB or in flight? If you need to fine-tune thrust on a nearly-empty tanker, there's always the PAW (right-click menu, or click on the engine icon in the staging stack) Yeah, the WH clusters generally seem a bit better than the Rhino, but mix in part-count simplicity and BIGGER, and it becomes a toss-up
  22. The first one is supposed to be named Heart of Gold (HHGtG reference)
