  1. See, that’s what KSP needs: caves! Big caves! Like, labyrinthine caves! That you can drive rovers in! Getting less serious now, with loot boxes! Where you can find a golden Poodle with +5 ISP, and other similar stuff. Yeah, I know, wrong thread...
  2. The whole point of having “rules of war” is so nobody has to deal with the horrors of unrestricted warfare. Think chemical, nuclear, or biological warfare: countries really don’t want to have to deal with those attacks, so they don’t attack with them. Don’t want your hospitals bombed? Don’t bomb them or use them as arsenals. Don’t want your commercial airliners shot down? Don’t use them for military purposes. Treat enemy POWs how you want your POWs treated. The reality is that war is war; you can do whatever the enemy can’t stop you from doing. But the retribution may be too much to handle. There is nothing civilized about war from a GIs perspective. History is written by the winners...
  3. During flight or at ignition? The ignition fireball should be eliminated by Shuttle-style spark generators which were specifically to prevent hydrogen from accumulating
  4. Run LOX or LF2 through a metallic hydrogen slug for the ultimate hybrid motor...
  5. Yeah, he probably put the 3 in the wrong place... 2300's?
  6. With several responses from moderators saying it'll never happen... I get it, you were in an off mood and it rubbed you the wrong way since you were not sure if it was a joke. Good on you for coming back later in a better mood and getting the joke. I was having fun with it while it lasted, "downvoting" almost everything for the heckuvit. It's all gone so it's all good now. I dunno if the other possible (but not currently available on this forum) reactions can be customized, but perhaps next year the reaction list can be fully populated, with the last one being "April Fools!"
  7. Well, one benefit of this April Fools exercise is that I no longer have to tap twice to “like” a post while on mobile.
  8. I’m gonna complain that there is no trace that downvotes ever existed here. And that nobody downvoted me that I noticed, despite my downvoting like mad. I’m also complaining that there is no proper TOTMs posted yet Good joke though
  9. In Kim Stanley Robinson’s Red/Green/Blue Mars trilogy...
  10. Which is what NASA should be doing: developing and proving expensive techniques and technologies to hand off to the commercial sector. Like they did when they were NACA
  11. Probably a bit of crossover between his songs “Dead Babies” and “Black Widow” along with his other creepy-crawly songs. (on mobile or I’d post links) One could also posit that it’s a member of The Who looking for “Boris the Spider” Interesting to find an extinction-level-event fossil bed
  12. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. Whatever gets you comfortably numb
  13. Columbia was the first orbiter, so they only had 70’s era simulations and guesstimates of where the hot spots would be, so they put tiles and RCC wherever they thought might need it. With data from Columbia, they were able to determine where less TP was needed, and modified accordingly. The wing strakes didn’t need as much black RCC, and the OMS pods could swap out some tiles for thermal blankets.
  14. Discovering some form of sentience existing there? Or worse, clueing it in to the existence of realspace? Say hello to Q
  15. I assume it's liquid fueled? Did they neglect to put anti-slosh baffles in the second stage?
