I do recall a photo was made by Ryan Nagata with Surveyor but I’m pretty sure it was a different photo. I’m pretty sure Apollo 12 took pictures of Surveyor. The Apollo 12 crew landed near Surveyor III and visited it. They retrieved a few parts from it for study  (the soil scoop experiment and the TV camera, they might’ve retrieved more but I don’t recall what). I assume the camera on the LRV took this photo, assuming it’s real. EDIT: just saw some people say it’s a composite, that’s probably true but still a cool photo.

Also just to clarify, when I sent that picture to tease what I’m working on next I am referring specifically to Surveyor, and not anything else Apollo related in that picture.

Alongside Surveyor, I also plan on doing unflown Surveyor proposals, like the Surveyor B Lunar Orbiter and some other experiments and other parts for additional engineering/scientific mission proposals.

I do have something else in store for Surveyor, but don’t get your hopes up, as it’s rather unlikely (but still possible) that I’ll do it. A Surveyor proposal called for a small robotic rover that could be deployed from Surveyor. As wheels are the bane of modders and the fact this would require a new dependency (as the stock wheel system doesn’t support tread type wheels) I am unsure if I will end up doing it.

Here is the planned part list: https://github.com/CobaltWolf/Bluedog-Design-Bureau/issues/1232

isn't that based on the ranger lander concept?

Earlier today out of boredom I was looking up pictures on my phone and found I still have pictures I took during a trip to Oregon in 2018 including some from the Evergreen Aviation Museum.

You sure? The mods required are surely over 2-3 GB, possibly closer to 5 lol

I made a long-ish post about what it is in the IPP mission report I made it for here

Long story short, it's the McDonnell Douglas+Martin Marietta Phase B fully reusable shuttle, only that instead of the low crossrange orbiter that is usually depicted in the artwork it has the high crossrange orbiter that Martin had studied for their Spacemaster shuttle and which may have been studied to be added on top of MDAC's flyback. I said may because the evidence I put in the linked post isn't a lot, but it was more than enough for me to put in the mission report. If anyone has better info on that, please let me know.

In the mission report I linked there's also the missions depicted in the screenshots above at the bottom, but be warned, it's a very screenshot heavy thread

All of that plus Planetside, the RS-25 variants mod, a bit of KNES and Restock/Restock+. The SIRTF also has parts from Kerbal Atomics and the MCA from Universal Storage, while the PEP-derived space platform is all BDB and KNES

i have all the  mods already, i run a 14 gigabyte mod folder that

System Heat is likely going to become a dependency for BDB, replacing the current boiloff functionality. More info TBA when I get further along with those parts.

Oh, please not... :(

(since it's not really compatible with JNSQ and Kerbalism...)

This is the first I'm hearing of it. Kerbalism, that makes sense that there might be an issue there. But what issue would it have for JNSQ? I believe the system basically ignores external factors like orientation or distance from the sun.

Decided to test out the NERVA with launching 2 probes. A Pluto scanner named Tombaugh and a Europa Scanner named Emmaline(Named after someone I know who's middle name is Europa.) both were separate launches.

Unfortunately on both missions when the NERVA II ignited it was night time so no pictures of it in action.

While Tombaugh is taking a 16 year journey to Pluto, Emmaline arrived at the Jovian System in about 2 years.

Nerva Tax. Based off the orbit assembled Saturn era transport vehicle. Decided to take it to Minmus as a test run. Got there with 3816 m/s to spare. Had to waste some because physics decided to break down and turn the rendezvous trajectory into an orbit that didn't go out to Minmus...

Added an upgrade subtype to NERVA II, 850s for now but there are apparently some sources than put NERVA at around 900s but this is under investigation from original sources for now.

I’ve used SystemHeat (via the FarFuture parts) in JNSQ for a while now and never had any problems with them. FarFuture itself had some issues with not being able to gather resources in space because their weren’t any resource configs but the heating system worked perfectly.

I shudder at the thought of the constellation program nuclear transport mars transport vehicle being made out of Saturn tanks

The Constellation program nuclear transport didn't use NERVA iirc. It used a different engine I think. The transport I made is of a Saturn era transport system using Nerva as the main engine.  Or were you talking about someone making a mockup of the Constellation transport using the Saturn Sofi tanks?

Also, @Zorg Did you forget to include the turbine exhaust nozzles or just opted to not model the nozzles? I think they would make for good ullage/rotation nozzles if you were to add them.

There is no exhaust in any of the NERVA II diagrams. I believe its a completely closed loop cycle.

I found these: They look like mockups, not sure. Maybe it was originally designed with turbine exhaust dumping (Open cycle/hot bleed) but then switched?

There are indeed no issues between SystemHeat and JNSQ. There are issues between SystemHeat and Kerbalism, this is true. There's also a bridge mod (KerbalismSystemHeat) that was recently updated, but it doesn't change the fact that out of the box those two mods don't play nice.
