[KSP 1.12.1+] Galileo's Planet Pack [v1.6.6] [23 Sept 2021]

Are the KSC Switcher sites hardcoded? Tried adding one to the config, but nothing happens - and I have several that aren't in here xD

(On the other hand, one is on the equator, which is what I wanted to add anyway! Thank you :) )

when I landed on tarsis, (I'm using the custom scatterer that came with the download) I noticed that the waves on the lakes were very strange, I don't know how to describe it, is it supposed to be like this or is it a bug?

Clearly I am doing something wrong.  I attempted to follow the installation instructions on page 1.

1. Fresh install KSP.

2. Run once, quit.

3. Install GPP

4. Install other mods from the GPP.zip

5. Run the game again

I start KSP again, and I'm looking at Kerbin.  The Kerbonauts have different glass on their helmets, so at least something is working.

Help?  I tried the readme but my computer has no idea what to do with a .md file.

Edit:

Manually changing readme.md to a .txt file let me open it.  Contrary to the instructions on page 1, it looks like a mod named Kopernicus is needed as step 2.  Might want to update that part in the OP?

You don't have Kopernicus or ModuleManager in that screenshot.

I have it running now.  The instructions on the first page don't mention Kopernicus being necessary.  Changed the .md to .txt to find that out. (Windows 10 suggest you find an app to open a .md file)

Instructions on Page 1 neglect step 2 found in the readme.md.  This is what threw me off in the OP:

You might consider adding that on page one for those of us who don't know Kopernicus is required.

Thanks for the help fellas.

@klesh It's all on you actually. The OP clearly links to my post " Wiki and other Important Information " right under the huge download link. My post and the readme.md file clearly mention Kopernicus.

Please make sure to read past the download link for whatever mod you're out to get.

Can't wait to get off work Can't wait to get off work Can't wait to get off work... Hey, new message from the fiancée... "Don't forget Pedro is coming into town for dinner tonight!"

RATS. Yet another evening foiled. :)

My mistake.  I saw the giant red text and simply read the line " GPP Install Instructions   Create a new install of KSP and run once without mods. Then you may install GPP and other mods. Otherwise backup and remove your saves. Any existing campaign that uses the stock planets... " and didnt realize you intended me to visit that as a link.   It's just a little confusing and I'm passing on my experience trying to figure it out as someone new.  Thanks for placing the blame at me though, I appreciate it.

I forgot to place a little something to cushion my words and surely didn't mean to sound offending/angry. However, if neither you nor your apprentice know the name Kopernicus, I think it's a little soon for you to have come here. :D But carry on. I won't try to dissuade you.

Does anyone know a workaround to make the atmospheric scoops in KSP-Interstellar work for Galileo's Planet pack? I've tried a few other planet packs, without any issues. However with Galileo"s pack, my atmospheric scoop will display "power: error" and "Trace Atmosphere: error" when I right click on the part.

I included an image of the error here:  https://goo.gl/photos/mzH4KDYMMd5mJUd76

Sorry, idk how to post a pic straight into the forum post.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Even if you just point me in the right direction, I don't mind fixing it myself. I just don't know what to change in the code for Galileo, KSP-I, or CRP, or if there is a different mod causing the issue.

On another note, thank you JadeOfMaar for making this mod :)

Ummmm....

There's a reason it's called @Galileo's Planet Pack.  @JadeOfMaar has helped with a lot of it, as well as @OhioBob, probably a couple others that I've unfortunately forgotten.

Edit: Yeah, they're all listed in the OP

It's all good. It's just as much their mod as it is mine. If you knew how much work everybody did I'd say it was about equal across the board.  my name just happens to be in the title

hey,

shame on me if I didn't pay enough attention to see my question already answered - but I was wondering about the effects on existing GPP career saves.

I currently have an infrastructure (sattelites, stations, ferries) deployed mostly around gael and iota including a nice mks base on the surface. These are the bits that I'd love to keep after the update. Additionally I have a couple of probes orbiting Thalia, Tellumo, Gratian and Gauss plus lander probes sitting on Thalia and Tellumo.

Can anyone tell me which craft I should take care of (e.g. put into orbit) before trying to update?

Anyway the update looks amazing! Thanks to the whole team for the hard work and I loved the experience so far!

Try to get as much as you can off the surface of all celestial bodies. Everything in orbit should be fine. Your base on iota is really a crapshoot. I watch a stream today and they're based on iota showed up under the terrain and exploded but it really depends on its location

@MaxxQ My bad. Let's all just get along ok, I'm not here to start any trouble :)

@Galileo Thanks, and thank you for your contributions to your planet pack as well :)

Hello @Chase842. I may be the best fit for answering your problem as it concerns resources. I have not played with KSPI and have removed it from the recommended mod list as I have not arranged for any considerable support for it yet. Any resources I've configured for KSPI are likely set within or around the gas giants. Try deleting their relevant config files from GameData\GPP\GPP_Resources. The Random system should kick in as it has before. If it doesn't then I must apologize in advance. Support will come eventually.

(@Galileo @Amnesy Your crafts sitting on Iota, Thalia and Tellumo will likely be lost, all for unique reasons. Iota's changed entirely and may swallow your base, Tellumo's land/ocean configuration has changed and you may find your craft splashed and Thalia's curse and danger now extend very far beyond her surface.

How do I use KSC Switcher? Looked for something in Settings and on the main game screen. I see it creates a button somewhere, but I'm not sure where. Also read through the Wiki and didn't see any mention of it.

Thanks!
